If you have Launchbox premium you can adjust the aspect ratio in the settings, either making them wider or taller.

What? The MAME create playlists does not create 111 playlists. I dont use any playlists myself, but i just created the Arcade ones and this is what i have, 39 in total. And that was letting it create them all, there are some options in the wizard to not create some, and of course you can just delete any if you don't want them. Remember these are "Auto Generated" if you want something more specific then feel free to make something more specific. Launchbox can't be expected to know exactly what "you want" as a playlist without some manual input.

New "Platform" not displaying games in Big Box
neil9000 replied to bojo5150's topic in Troubleshooting
Do you have any of the "hide games missing (insert media type)" options checked in the settings? Could be its simply hiding them. -

Stop startup video with a specific button?
neil9000 replied to HansS's topic in Big Box Startup Videos
Any button will skip it as long as Bigbox has finished loading. -
Probably need to tell MAME the rompath.

No this isnt supported im afraid. It has been brought up before and even made it onto community polls but didnt get much love from the userbase. It still may make it in at some point as it is a feature that Jason himself personally wants, but its not a priority currently.

If you already have them then no its not necessary, you should of unchecked all media downloads in the import wizard if you didnt want it to look for new media.
-
This is simply due to the resolution of the images you are using, most MAME games are old and therefore low resolution. The space for the image to show for a game is the same for all games in a platform, so if you are using a few much lower resolution images for some games they will naturally look smaller.

Yes but that "problem" was just the addition of a new command that you can easily delete to fix the problem in a couple of seconds. Updating your MAME is now your main issue, as you made the "problem" much worse by updating your MAME without at least noting which version you were previously running. Essentially a lot has changed in MAME since whenever your romset was from, meaning that a lot of your games will no longer work with the current versions of the MAME emulator. You will specifically have issues with most Capcom games due to the qsound bios changing, and i believe also the neogeo bios was also changed relatively recently, so those games you have will not work with the current version of the emulator that you blindly updated to. You either need to find the correct version of the emulator (i would suggest something pre 0.182 from here https://www.mamedev.org/oldrel.html) or you need a new romset to match the current version of the emulator.

Well clearly not if this, So you dont have a Arcade platform, or you do but its not showing any games? A bit more of a description and some images would help to understand exactly what you are saying, because if you have a fullset and the emulator then there is no reason it wouldnt work, other than user error during the import wizard.

You will need to go back to the version of MAME you were using previously, and then go to Tools/Manage emulators/MAME and remove the keyboard input command line that i mentioned earlier.

Yes but thats not what i asked. What version of Launchbox were you on before you updated it? And what romset are your roms from originally, you need to use that version, not the current one. My thinking is you were using a version of Launchbox that was prior to the MAME import update that added a commandline to your emulator, that command wont work with a old version of MAME so im thinking that was your issue, but then updating the MAME emulator if using a old romset would of also broken games. so i think you now have to separate issues. Can you confirm what version of Launchbox you was on prior to the update and which MAME romset and emulator version you were using before downloading the newest emulator.

What version of MAME are you using? If its pre 0.173 you need to remove the keyboardinput commandline from the manage emulators/MAME screen. And if it is a old version like that do not use a current MAME emulator, most games wont work.

What version of Launchbox did you update from? and what version of MAME are you running?

Check that windows is set to 60hz and not 30.

No harm, i was just pointing out that you may get a better response if you used please, like "Please could you make a clear logo for this game" instead of "i need a logo for this game". Water under the bridge though.

Select a platform in the sidebar, click a game then CTRL A to highlite them all, then tools/change rompath for selected games.

Yes 100%. When you add a system to Launchbox you tell it where that systems roms are stored, then you get three options, "move roms to launchbox folder", "copy roms to launchbox folder", or "leave roms in there current location", so you would just select the third option. Also all the media paths are editable after you have imported a system, so you could move certain things elsewhere and then just edit that location in Launchbox. For example, Also it is worth mentioning that Launchbox itself is a potable program, so it can be moved around to different folders/drives if so desired, and as long as the roms themselves didnt move it would still work. Also there is a option to change the rom path for systems in Launchbox, so if you moved a system from the USB drive somewhere else, you just need to choose the option in Launchbox to change the rompath for that system and point it at the new location.

Lots of people run Launchbox/Bigbox from a USB drive, as long as its a decent USB 3 drive it should be just fine. You could also use the USB drive for the roms only and have Launchbox/Bigbox on a faster internal drive, for more snappiness when loading images/videos and the like.
