PGM2-Mame I have never messed with so could not answer that. For Sega Model 2 there is a setting to auto switch in fullscreen. I have that ticked and it works in my setup. If you need to set a custom resolution you have to edit the Ini file. It will be in the Renderer section of the Emulator.ini.

Is their a way to add additional file types to Bigbox for logos?
Retro808 replied to NIVO's topic in Troubleshooting
Logos are only supported by image file types. -
No worries. Glad it is sorted. However, what was the issue? It would be helpful to know in case someone else has a similar issue.

How old is the Tankstick? Coming out of the back of it does it have a PS/2 connector or USB cables? The older model usually had the P1 directional controls set to the number keys like in your BigBox image. I see BB is recognizing the directional inputs as the Num 8, 6, 4, and 2 directions. Usually a good sign you need the NumLock on with a Tankstick. Did you try the NumLock like I mentioned? In Mame it lists the directional arrows. Did you try remapping the directions controls in Mame to see if it shows the same Number directions like in BigBox?

Make sure you have the 2 boxes checked in the image below in Manage Emulators for your Sega Model 2. Also make sure in the Emulator.ini file in your Sega Model 2 exe folder you set the rom path.

He is talking about the metadata for the actual platform images and information. At the moment you have to edit each manually. There is not a mass metadata update for just the platform data.

Depending on the theme you are using and the view in it that can affect if videos play or not. Each theme has several views and not all views support video play play back. There are also a couple of themes that do not support video play back at all. Make sure in BigBox in the settings you map a control for changing the theme view. A couple things to do: Make sure your videos play in Launchbox than that should confirm they are in the right folder and linked to the games. Then check video settings for play back in BigBox as there are a couple that you may need to check or uncheck depending if you had accidentally changed anything.

Not quite sure. What Windows version are you running? I found on Google several mentions on gaming forums of Xaudio errors such as this and the fix was installing an older DirectX update to fix it. DirectX June 2010 update. If you just google DirectX June 2010 Update the first link will take you to the MS page for the update.

The CHD files for the games are not better versions of the game, it is simply the large chunk of data for certain games. There is not a rom version and a CHD version of a particular game. The CHD works in part with the rom. The rom houses a little data that tells mame it needs to use the larger file of the CHD to actually run the game. So for games that need a CHD you need both the rom and the CHD. Now there are a few exceptions of games that only need a CHD. Not many but I think there are a few. Also not every game needs a CHD. Typically some newer games that housed data on disc media need a CHD. Examples would be Golden Tee games, Street Fighter 3 games. Get the mame rom set, find out which games you want to play that need a CHD file that works and just get the CHD file for those games. For example I have about 900 games in my set-up. Only 21 of them are games that need a CHD. The CHD files for those games only take up 12.9GB of space. No way did I want nor need the full 500+ GB of the full CHD set.

Here is a video of the MGS sound pack from the downloads section. Does this help? 2018-09-17 09-42-53_Trim_Trim.mp4

BigBox/Launchbox do not need the CHDs. Mame needs them. So you just need to make sure they are properly placed in the roms folder per mame. Certain games will not run without CHD associated file and there are some games that are CHD only games I believe.

Do both joysticks not move or just one? If just one try turning the Num Lock on with your keyboard and see if that fixes. The Tankstick should work with Mame pretty much out the box with only a few button map changes. Do you have the switch on the back of the tankstick in the #1 position (the position closest to the cable)? For BigBox just set your controls in the keyboard mapping area of settings. Nothing really needs configuring outside of that.

Not sure how you have your platforms and playlists set up but it sounds like you need to change BigBox default starting view. If you want the playlists to always show up as the default view you have to go into BB settings and in Views set the default startup view to Playlists. You can set it to things like Platform, Platform Category, Playlists, etc.

It might be the -video in the file name. I just changed a bunch of SNES video names adding that in and the videos quite working. Take it out and it works fine.

No worries. We really are not sticklers for things like this and do not move threads a lot, but I think the Games DB mods frequent these subforums more so you may get faster answers in the right area.

*Moved topic to the Games DB subforums* The Games DB moderators do have set parameters for criteria being entered so they would be the best to answer your questions. I do know for #1 when you register for the Games DB there is a link to submit a new platform.

Big Box continually locking up when scrolling through lists
Retro808 replied to Bri Bri's topic in Troubleshooting
Take a look. Definitely has the issue you are experiencing. No worries on not seeing it. This forum is pretty relaxed in things like that. A good thread to follow and if you still have issues post there since Jason has responded a good bit in it. -
Big Box continually locking up when scrolling through lists
Retro808 replied to Bri Bri's topic in Troubleshooting
This has been an issue mentioned previously and Jason has looked into it. There is a thread about it. I believe Jason is still working to try and solve. It is not present for all users, but it is known for some. -
Just open the folder your Launchbox.exe is in and you will see a dedicated music folder. In it will be subfolders for platforms and background.

If you need to download just 3D box art for games just highlight all the games for your library and go to Tools>Download Metadata and Media. In the wizard tick only the box for 3D Box Art and leave all others unchecked. There will also be a screen for you to choose if you want it to download and replace any existing media or to only download for games missing that media. Then finish out the rest of the wizard prompts and let it run. Since you already changed the image group to 3D also make sure in tools you edit the image priority for 3D Boxes and put some back up options of the image type you would want to show for any games that do not have a 3D Box image to download.

There really is not a lot of mention of them out there but I did see the three games show up in references to games released on Cave's first hardware. I think many of the games listed as Cave were published by other companies.
