@Jason Carr 1920x1080 on the 2 machines with the issue. I do not bother with 4k much on the arcade machines. I can test a 4k if you would like.
-
If I have a pc game set to say 1920x1080, launch it, close it Next will freeze. If I launch the game at say 1920x1080 then just before closing change to a lower res like 1600x900 then close the game Next does not freeze. This one though is not replicated every time. It is like 50/50. The issue mentioned with Mame I can replicate every time.
-
If I have Next in fullscreen and it freezes, if I hit the task bar icon to shrink it from view then click it again to bring it back up it unfreezes. If I keep Next in a window smaller than fullscreen the issue does not occur at all. For the resolution part on a pc game that it might occur on if the game is set to say 1920x1080 if I change it to 1600x900 before closing the game I will not get the issue.
-
Yes to both of these. I can elaborate more on how I can replicate my issue. I did give details earlier in this thread but can repost if you want. Mame and some PC games are where I see the issue with freezing. If I minimize Next from fullscreen in Mame no issue. On some pc games if I change the resolution before closing to something lower no issue. I can try out the test build on my set-up.

Hey, I will take more mentions of this to build more interest in it.

@Lordmonkus Didn't this just miss the cut on the last poll? I know updated marquee support is something I have been wanting for quite a while and was excited to see it get more votes on the last poll. I will keep voting for any updates to marquee support.

If you remove games or add new games you did not have before the stock generated playlists will update accordingly. Even if you delete a game and then add it back the stock playlist Launchbox generates will add it. So if you take Irem Classics and have Kung-Fu Master installed if you delete it from your arcade platform the playlist will show it now as a missing game. If you add it back it gets put in that playlist. Or are you talking about something like editing the XML or editing the playlist and deleting the games showing as missing in the games tab?

i cant launch mednafen psx hw libretro via LaunchBox
Retro808 replied to InsideSmoke's topic in Troubleshooting
@InsideSmoke He started another thread on the issue and figured did end up figuring out what was wrong. -
Did you delete just the psx hw core info and reenter it or delete the entire line of data including the associated platform name? Your post is not clear as you only said you deleted psx hw libretro. I believe what the other user that had issues did was delete everything and enter it all in a new row. So go to the last row enter all the data for the platform (associated platform name and core) then go and delete the entire original entry. At least when I read the other post again that what he appears to have done. Worth a tey if that is not what you did already.

There are a couple ways: If you right click a game and edit there is a custom command line parameter you can use to set a game up for a different core. Enter a command line for the core you want in the "Use custom command-line" field. Or you can create a second emulator instance of Retroarch. Call it whatever you want just name it different from your original emulator set-up (In the pics I created one for SNK on my test machine) and still point it to the same Retroarch.exe as your original set-up. In the associated platform tab of the edit eumlator make sure you enter the platform name for Shoot em ups platform and enter the Retroarch core you want to use. DO NOT click the default emulator box. Then go to the Shoot em ups platform and select all the games you want to run with the core from this version of the emulator and right click, edit (this will bring up the bulk editor) and choose emulator than select the new one.

Big Box - Closing Emulators with Xarcade Dual Joystick
Retro808 replied to kenpowers's topic in Troubleshooting
Does not appear this member has even visited the site since the original post. I use the Xarcade Tankstick with default key layout and most of the emulators I use work fine off of Launchbox/BigBox controller automation. Retroarch and Mame have internal exit commands you can set so you do not really need to use an AHK. For example I use P2 Start and Right Pinball button as my exit combo. This can easily be set directly in Mame and Retroarch. Any emulator that does not exit with what is set in BigBox or does not have internal exit command functionality I simply paste a simple AHK code that is posted in the thread. -
The theme will determine the size of the video (and if it will even show videos) and the placement of the video based on how the developer coded it. Each theme will also have different view styles. You need to make sure you have a key mapped to change theme views (switch view) if you have not already done so. The theme Neil shared will do what you want. You just need to switch the view style in the theme.
-
What image type view are you using? Certain views the flip does not work such as 3D box. I use only normal box cover images and like Dos it works for me. So I tested a few other views and it does not work in other types.
-
No. That's likely the issue with the emulation of that rom. Which is why mame warns it is not a working rom.
-
When you launch that game hit tab and go to "controls for this machine" and set the start/coins there. I had to do that for this game to get it to work. Keep in mind Mame tells you emulation is not complete on this game so it will likely either crash, get glitchy, or something weird. It is not a fully working rom.
-
@ExclusiveBox Yeah that rom is not emulated accurately. It will still play though. When you get to that second image just hit your controller buttons and it will go past that. 2018-07-31 07-49-32Trim.mp4

So the game does not even open at all or it does and you just can start playing? What is the name of the rom? I just tested SOR1 (Megaplay version) from a 0.196 set and it works. Those Megaplay you might need to set some of the controls for them as the options to start/add coins for the controls are a bit different from the core controls you may have set. I had to set those up but the fight/move controls where fine.

There is a link on the main site you can use for lost license request or email support@unbrokensoftware.com for assistance.

It should work as @neil9000 advised. I just tested, of course at first I thought it did not work, but that was due to me not removing the audio files from the root folder. In short what ever your mame platform is called create a folder for that name in the Launchbox/Music/Background/Platforms folder. So if it is called Arcade it would like like... Launchbox/Music/Background/Platform/Arcade/"name of audio file".mp3 Just make sure in the Launchbox/Music/Background folder you do not have audio or it will play over all platforms as well.
-
The biggest issue with using MameUI is the mame.ini file needs to be in the root folder not the ini folder. Edit: Dos beat me to it. ?
-
LOL. No worries. At least it is an easy fix and not some major overhaul.
-
Example A: The images are for the platform itself. (not the actual games) Example B: These images are for the actual games within the platform. So console images are in a separate folder from the games.
-
Images simply go in your Image folders in your Launchbox structure (LaunchBox\Images). By placing them here all themes will be able to use them. If you place images in the image folders located in the specific themes folders (LaunchBox\Themes\[Theme Name]\Images) you are designating those images to only be used by that them. This is a great option if you have specific image styles that will match a theme, but remember that means only that theme can use the image. Remember, anytime you add or change images, when you launch BigBox go to settings then images and refresh the image cache. Otherwise the new images will not be shown. Why the default theme did not use the image you placed in the themes images folder I am not sure. Images in a theme's specific folders should be primary over images in the general images folders. Maybe the default only pulls the general images as a safety since the default theme can not be deleted or edited. In any other downloaded theme this should work as planned.

Thanks for this. Really nice little touch to images for a marquee monitor. I have been waiting for something new for marquees to come along. -

Jason did say he will be implementing the ability to edit that area so not sure what more needs to be said. Just a matter of holding tight until he is done. He did say soon....so....
