Yeah that is how I would expect it to work. Box - Front and Fanart are not shots of the game screen or "Screenshots". So it is likely working as designed.
-
Does this happen every time or randomly? Does it happen with the certain platforms or all? Might be helpful if we know the exact steps to add games you are taking. Give us an example of a platform this happened with and the exact steps you took to import. The contents of the \Data folder is one issue that can cause this, but you confirm no extra data there. Still would be good for us to see the contents of your \Data\Platforms folder. Not really sure what you mean by "my game views are corrected set".

What exactly happens? Any errors or does it just never open? Did you check if you have any Anitivurs that might have quarantined a LB/BB file? I have a couple Ryzen builds and LB/BB work fine.

https://docs.libretro.com/meta/core-list/
-
There is no list. Someone might be willing to take the time to manually make a list, but LB does not provide one. If LB did not pre-populate a platform and a Retroarch core you need to scroll to the bottom of the list on the Assoicated Platforms tab and click on the empty cell at the bottom and manually set it up. There is more platform / emulator / core information here.
-
There is not a list for LB. In the Associated Platform page you select the core you want to run the game with in Retroarch. Its user preference. The user enters the platform name and then clicks on the cell for the "Core" and selects the one they want to use.

You will not mess anything installing an older version. Countless users have done it. I do it at least 3 or 4 times a week on my test build troubleshooting when users say one version is messing up but a prior version did not do it. If you have a fear just copy your \Data folder but LB already makes a backup of it anyway.
-
Does it only crash when you try to access the options? Go into your \Updates folder it should contain all the installer from prior version you used. Just run the one you want. You can run it over top the existing install it will not affect setting or games/media. Just make sure to confirm it is installing to a \Launchbox folder and not \Launchbox\Launchbox. Can you try the steps C-Beats mentions in this thread and post the logs. Might be helpful to the team.
-
Yes. During import just be sure to check to box for "Force Import Duplicates". You can leave them as separate entries or you can combine them into one entry and the second option will be available as an additional application you can select to run instead of the primary game.

Noob- imports lots of mames I don't have (or want)
Retro808 replied to CapeManCoral's topic in Android
I deleted your other thread since it was not in the Android section. Unfortunately I cannot assist as I do not use the Android version. Hopefully one of out devs/mods or users who do can chime in to assist you. -
LB does not really need to support an emulator. If the emulator can launch from a command line then games can be launched through LB and CXBX works fine with LB. Can you run the games run directly in CXBX Reloaded? If yes, then it is likely a setting issue for the emulator in LB.

>Tools >Manage >Storefronts Very first check box on that screen.

What email provider? Just tried 3 different emails from different providers and link came within minutes.

Retroarch imported, but SNES does not work on front end.
Retro808 replied to Rob J Nathan's topic in Noobs
In your pic of the Associated Platforms image we cannot see SNES platform. Can you show a pic with the SNES platform in the image. Also that last cell labeled "Status" that we can just barely see it clearly shows you are missing cores. That "M" that is just visible in that cell is "Missing Core File". That could be your issue. -
Unable to get Retroarch to launch for MAME/Arcade games
Retro808 replied to ArquebusX's topic in Troubleshooting
You appear to have the platforms listed in alphabetical order so "Arcade" is not showing. In the image of the Associated Platforms we cannot see the rest of the list. Do you have "Arcade" listed there and the correct core selected? -
Retroarch imported, but SNES does not work on front end.
Retro808 replied to Rob J Nathan's topic in Noobs
Does the game run if you open Retroarch directly and try the game? If yes there could be a setting wrong in LB. Go to >Tools >Manage >Emulators and edit Retroarch. Post the following pics. 1. Pic of the Details tab 2. Pic of the Associated Platforms tab. Right click one for your SNES games and choose Edit Metadata and Media. Post the follwoing pics. 1. Pic of the Metadata tab 2. Pic of the Launching tab 3. Pic of the Emulation tab -
You have to open the emulator directly, You cannot do mapping from within LB. You can open the emulator from within LB though. Just right click a game in LB and you should see an option to open the emulator.
-
All in game controls are mapped in each unique emulator. LB/BB do not have anything to do with in game controls. So yes. I believe in the controller/keyboard mappings in BB there are options to bind for page up/down and zoom in/out. I would suggest spending some time just looking around LB and BB settings pages.

LaunchBox Not Downloading All Images,why?
Retro808 replied to EdgarLDSantos's topic in Troubleshooting
The other options missing means those image types are not in the database for that game. That game you have highlighted if you look in the DB it does not have images for those other options. So LB will not list them. In the image below you can see Alone in The Dark has more image types in the DB so those image types show selectable. If I do the same for DeathKeep you see it matches what you are seeing. As far as it not downloading images from the "Select All Games" option are you saying it is not downloading any images at all for the option you select for all games or just some games? -
In BB the binding you need to use is the "Close Active" window one. Which you said you tried. Best recommendation if pick one emulator you are having issue with and let us know which one. share pics of the following: In BB share a pic of the bindings you mapped to close the game In LB >Tools >Manage >Emulators and edit that emulator. Share a pic of the Details tab and the Running AHK tab.

Looking at the video this looks like the delays caused by the theme's fades/animations when loading the next metadata. I use a custom theme I made without all those affects and the next meta and video loads well within a second. When I switch to the Default theme or another with those kind of animations it usually take 2-4 seconds for the next load. It is definitely not excessively long, but then again I compare it to trying to get media to load on the Nintendo Switch when in the eShop. 😃 So my opinion differs. My recommendation is try a couple other themes and see if the delays differ. I would also recommend closing down all other applications running just to ensure something 3rd party is not affecting this. Provide us any feedback once you have done that.
-
I do not believe anything in latest updates was made to address this possible issue. It has been hard for the devs to replicate this. At least from their prior posts. Can you try moving your video folder out of the Launchbox folder and test having attract mode run and see if you have any crashes. As I mentioned earlier this issue plagued me for years. It was not until I tested removing video files that I found out I had a few videos that were corrupt. Removing them and downloading new ones I have not had a crash in a long time. It would be helpful if you can test that and let us know if it made a difference. May not be your issue, but would be good to eliminate it or if it is it can provide more information to the team.

Very High GPU Usage With New Launchbox Update (13.7 and 13.8)
Retro808 replied to Wonderboy's topic in Troubleshooting
Ah crap, I was looking at memory (I saw the 45% at the top and brain immediately went there) versus GPU. Completely missed you quite succinctly stated "GPU". Reading is fundamental 😃 In the 13.7 and 13.8 releases I am not sure what updates would be using more GPU. So not sure why you are seeing such a big increase. Here is a pic of mine in 13.8 The differences are when a video is running in LB details window (GPU at almost 8%) versus when I pause the video (GPU at 0%).
