The version of Mame tou are using and your import settings can also affect how LB imports the Mame roms. It will abide by your region setting which can affect which rom is primary as well as your preference over 4-player/2-player rom types. LB can determine parent since it reads the Mame.xaml from the version of Mame you told it you were using. It cannot determine optimal rom since that is too subjective and likely something it will not be coded to do. I take it that is one of the major issues using the Mame artwork, if your imported primary rom name does not match the artwork file name there will be a lot of leg work to fix. I doubt much will be done in the short term to make using mame official artwork any more seamless since LB has its own image infrastructure.
The Gryzor issue I am not sure on. Just checked and my import has Contra imported separately from Gryzor.
I assume like you mentioned in your first post the issue to be the file name mistmatch. Example if you take berzerk and change the image file name from berzerka to berzerk does it show the marquee? I do know LB can use images named after the rom so I believe that means the image name must match the rom name.
Can you give an example (such as the exact game name and rom name you are launching or displaying and the images file name in the folder). I do not really mess with Mame artwork, but LB bindings are designed to pull images named after the rom file or named exactly as the name is in LB.
@skizzosjt and @mcfilmmakers I deleted the last 3 posts to clean up this thread and to also nip things were they stand before it slides downhill. Nothing else needs to be said or commented on.
Skizzosjt I left your original issue post so the team can keep aware. I will add this is something I recently saw this week. Same as you I have tried may things to recreate it and no luck. Seems rather random, but it has happened about 8 times the last few days.
Displaying marquees where? Inside the LB/BB UI or in game?
LB/BB will pull the marquee images from the LB image folders, not from Mame folders. So by default it would look in \Launchbox\Images\Arcade\Arcade - Marquee\
You did not really need to delete them you just need to refresh the image cache. In BB settings there is an option to refresh the image cache. Whenever you add new images and they are not showing you can use that option and it then updates that cache BB stores in that folder.
The Exit Script page only affects when exiting from the pause menu. Running tab is where would typically paste any AHK for use when actively playing the game. Yuzu does not need any script in LB. Yuzu actually uses Ctrl+Q to close the emulator and that is one of the command LB will send when it send the Close Active Window call.
Just tested and works fine for me. I do also have my buttons mapped directly in Yuzu to exit as well. So try mapping those 2 same buttons in the emulators settings.
If you are mapping in the "Controller Mapping" page you just hit both buttons together. For example (the button numbers here are just random and may not be your specific buttons) It will reflect as: Close Active Window Button 8+Button 7
These are the only current android themes. If you dowloaded themes. Windows BB themes are not compatible on Android.

Just add them like any other rom. You are not locked into only the platforms listed in the drop-down list when you import. You can manually enter any platform name you want. When it asks what platform you are importing for just type in the name. Be sure you add that platform name to the emulator's Associated Platforms list that will launch the games.
There should not be a limit. Just ran a test and was able to copy 1,600, 4,500, and 10,500 lines from the audit tool into Excel.
You mentioned messing with filters. What exact steps did you take to generate the audit list you are trying export?
I do not believe so as any update will revert it back to the packaged version in LB. VLC is already updated to the most current version 3.0.17.4 as of 12.15 so nothing to actually update.
Not sure exactly what you mean. Never used Hyperspin so cannot compare. What ever audio file is named “move” in your \Sounds folder is what sound will trigger when you move up/down or left/right in a wheel in BB.
It is likely because you have that "confirm to exit" on in the emulator you are using. LB/BB never ask you to confirm to exit, this is an emulator setting. So that step is likely the cause of the desktop showing. Go into your emulator and in the settings there look for an option to turn off the confirm to exit.
The audio files go in the \Launchbox\Sounds folder.
These are only sounds that are made when moving around in LB. A sound for "back", "move", "select", and "startup".
