Hey Folks, In conjunction with the project I'm working on, I have compiled three "best of" lists for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I have included a top 20, 50, and a 100. Here's a link to the explanation of the project I've been working on. It includes all Nintendo home consoles. More playlists to follow. Hope this helps some of us with large collections or are new to retro gaming. Let me know what you think. UPDATE : I've added three more playlists: Top 10% (73 games), Top 20% (143 games), and Top 25% (180) games.

  4. Thanks, I thought it would be useful for anyone new to these games or with large collections. I just posted the Playstation 1 list. That one was a monster to create!
  5. Good Morning Folks, I am continuing my project to create a "definitive" list of the best games on each console. Here is the Sony home console list. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n2mtn3UZUl4OePTk6BR9Ekpp1C1d8mJd3E1ZfEqhHvM/edit?usp=sharing Explanation of the project (copied from my other entry) I'm creating lists (via Google sheets) that compile the best games by console. I've included a link to my first list - The Best Games on Nintendo Home Consoles Be kind - this is a work in progress - and is much more time-consuming, eye-straining, and fatiguing than it may appear to be. Any suggestions or corrections would be greatly appreciated. In the spreadsheets, you will find the primary sheet that includes all major home consoles by company. Each console is followed by a list of games and each game is accompanied by a number. The number refers to the amount of times each game was listed on a "best" of list of games on the internet (for more detail - the other sheets contain all the sources I used to compile the lists). I also used various import and hidden gem lists to cast a wider net. *EDIT* I double-counted some mentions if they came from sites that aggregated reviews or had polls. This is NOT A LIST of the best games in any type of order aside from of # of mentions. Therefore, the top games may not necessarily be the very best in the order presented, but one can assume the top 10, 20, 50, or 100 is a pretty solid list to create your own "best of" playlists. There are a few ways to use the data: 1) At the top of each list is a number indicating the total # of games released for each system. Underneath each system is listed the number of games that would fit into the top 10%, 20%, or 25% for that system. Simply refer to the "A" column to create a list based on these percentages. or 2) I've roughly color-coded the top 20 (yellow=gold), top 50 (grey=silver), and top 100 (orange=brown). The numbers don't match up exactly because many games were often tied for the same amount of mentions. As this list is ultimately subjective, feel free to move up or down any games based on your own experiences. 6. Funny, it just didn't come up highly on many lists.
  7. Good Afternoon Folks, I have embarked upon an interesting and hopefully rewarding project. I'm creating lists (via Google sheets) that compile the best games by console. 8. Figured it out. MameUI will look within folders located within the artwork folder. For some reason, when going through Launchbox the bezel files have to be directly in the artwork folder, and not within another folder. Regardless of whether MameUI has been set to look for nested folders. Hopefully, this is helpful for others that are stuck.
  9. Hi Folks, Hoping for a little help. I set up MameUI using the recent Youtube video. Works great. Here is my issue: I found a set of bezels online. I added them to the artwork folder in MameUI folder. I opened Mame UI and added the folder to the artwork directory. I assumed all that was good since I now had bezels appear when I loaded a game through MameUI. Yet when I launch a game through Launchbox, no bezels appear. When I tab to Mame menu, bezels are enabled under video plugins but they don't appear as an option. Any ideas?
  10. I did thanks the man but I shall thank him again. Thanks! Great plug in
  11. Impressed by all your sets
  12. Looks great! Is there any way to make this an option on the Platform categories or Platform screen? It would be great if it could be added to a games list screen (i.e. Nintendo 64 Games list) as well. Thanks for helping make progress on this issue.
  13. I don't see a scroll lock button on my keyboard, any ideas?
  14. Hey Folks, Anybody get controls working in Creativision? Games load up, but I can't even pull up the MAME menu to configure controls. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
  15. I'm starting a new title for this section (playlists) called "Dream Playlists" The idea being: Imagine Launchbox had nested folders (I know it's coming) and "smart" folders (based upon tags and searches). What types of playlists would you create? (I realize you can run searches and create these playlists, but the beauty of smart folders is that it would automatically update itself any time the database is updated). These playlists would generally populate themselves. My first dream playlist (which includes a bunch of nested playlists) is called Time Machine. Main Playlist: Time Machine Folder Structure: Time Machine - All Games All Games By Date Game list: Bertie the Brain (Prototype - 1950), Nim (Prototype - 1951), Draughts (Prototype - 1952).... 16. I agree, they look great! I have been using them as well,. Would you use them if there were decent versions that resembled the originals
  17. I absolutely don't mean to disparage anyone's opinion. I just was curious about people's preferences.
  18. Hey Folks, Edited to better express myself I am happy to see this influx of new media (HD / 3D boxes), and i wondered about something. I wondered who prefers these that resemble the originals: and whom prefers these: They look awesome, but personally i prefer those that resemble the original boxes. What do others think about these boxes? What is your preference? Why?
  19. Bumping this! I really have wanted this for quite a while.
