  1. Press ESC on the keyboard should allow you to skip the remainder of the video that's playing and enter you into BB. Note: You need to wait until the video has played some before you can press a button and go into BB, I find that pressing it right away will not allow you to skip, you need to wait a little before it will actually trigger for me.
  2. Yeah, makes sense. If you're using the ESC key, which is the default in Mame to exit the emulator though, just make sure that you also do not have any Autohotkey Script setup on the appropriate tab on the Emulator setup in LB. That script will take precedence if you launch MAME via LB/BB, and using the built-in exit in MAME is preferred, I guess that's what I was trying to explain lol
  3. Note 100% sure if this will fix your issue or not (after I re-read your symptoms, it might not be related to this). But, there are two ways to exit MAME from within LB/BB, one is by adding the following to the Autohotkey Script tab in LB while editing the emulator: $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} } Or another way is to leave that area empty in LB, and then in MAME you can re-map the Cancel UI buttons assigned in MAME itself to same controls that you normally use in LB/BB to exit emulators. The reason this is preferred is that if you use the AHK script, MAME doesn't close properly, saving changes you might have made (to artwork, video settings etc.). But, if you re-map the Cancel UI (it might be called Exit UI, can't remember for sure) in MAME, then MAME exits properly when you press those keys, saving any changes you might have made, etc. If making changes in MAME and saving them is not imortant, then the easier of the two solutions is the fist one I mentioned above. Hope this helps, CDBlue
  4. Have you tried some of the other themes that mention that they might work with 4:3 systems. I thought there was are more than 1 theme that said they support (or will work with) 4:3 ratio monitors. For example, the below are all themes that list that they support 4:3 ratio (perhaps with a little tweaking needed though) Refactor: FluxCRT (Edit - actualyl this one might be for 16:9 only, but uses 4:3 video snaps apparently): Four by Three (which is explicitly made for 4:3 systems I believe):
  5. Not sure if there are any video snap packs for SNES MSU1 games out there. Many of the games converted to MSU1 have several variations available to get (different music, etc.) so it's unlikely that you will find any packs out there that will have the video snaps for those. You might need to revert to either making your own or perhaps just use the SNES version of the video snap for that particular game in question (ie. scrape the game as Super Nintendo Entertainment System and it should find that snap pack from either the LB DB or from EmuMovies if you have a subscription). As for the video preview for SNES there are a few available on this forum, for example the one below (look for (Consoles)_Super_Nintendo_MSU-1.mp4) Or on EmuMovies (if you have a subscription) is one for the Unified Platform videos by CriticalCid: https://emumovies.com/files/file/3002-super-nintendo-msu-1-unified-platform-videos-16x9hd/
  6. Yeah, Jason mentioned in the beta thread that it was kind of odd the way it's currently setup, settings-wise. I expect he'll tweak the settings or add better notes in the app as to what needs to be tweaked, and where. I think for now he just wanted to get the functionality out there I guess
  7. Also check your background fade settings in LB/BB if the above doesn't fix the issue.
  8. Excellent, glad you were able to sort it out.
  9. Holy crap, glad I came in to check what was new with the plugins. I've been waiting for something like this since I got back into retro-gaming. I've tried to play with RocketLauncher, but didn't like it, found it too bloated and cumbersome to setup. Looking forward to this immensely
  10. Would it be possible to provide a screenshot of where you mean? If it's where I'm thinking, then maybe you don't have a clear logo set properly for that platform. It should be in the ..\LaunchBox\Images\Platforms\Arcade\Clear Logo folder (assuming your platform name is called Arcade that is). The clear logo file should also be called the same as your platform name, ie. Arcade.jpg, Arcade.png, etc. If you do have the file in the correct location, and all looks ok, you can try forcing a refresh/reload of the image cache in BB. In the options select image cache and then go through and click each of the refresh options. Not sure if each is needed to be clicked on, but I usually do each just to be sure my image cache is re-loaded properly. Once that's done, check to see if the image for Arcade now shows up properly. Hope this helps, CDBlue
  11. Not quite sure if this is what you're looking for maybe it is and/or will assist. In Launchbox, if you right-click the playlist you can select edit. From there you can click on the Games tab and see all the games that are part of that playlist. You can them click on any on the list and select the delete button, or press the del key on the keyboard if you want to remove any from the list. Also, not sure if this works with a playlist or not as I don't currently use any so I can't test it, but if you select the playlist on the left sidebar, then click on tools you might have an option called Audit (and then whatever the playsist is called). If that works, that will also bring up a list of all the games, from which you can sort, delete, etc. said playlist... again not sure if that Audit option works for playlists or just for platforms though.
  12. Sorry, didn't get a chance to get back to the forums until I got home from work Yeah, for me personally I prefer the Refried version at the moment, but that's just because of all the cool addon themes available and great artwork/videos that go really well together, that RetroHumanoid added to his theme. I find it really make BB shine for the platforms I have right now. But, as mentioned above it really comes down to one's tastes as far as which is "better". FYI, I still have the Redux version installed, and often switch back and forth since they are both excellent themes.
  13. IMO for a noob to use of those 3 themes you mentioned, I'd go with the Redux version. It's the most up-to-date and is a single theme. If you want to get really into it and use addon themes, etc. then the Refried theme is the way to go. They do actually look different in many ways though, how the box/cd/cartridges are displayed, spinning disks, artwork, and wheel are different in each theme. But, as I said Redux is a single theme, so might be easier to start with as it's just one theme to play with. The Refried theme can also be used as a single theme, but it really starts to shine when you start using the addon themes, which would mean downloading multiple themes and then selecting different themes (the addons) for each platform... more complicated, not suggested for someone new to LB/BB imo... but worth it once you get comfortable with the intricacies of LB/BB and how to tweak it how you like.
  14. You can favorite games in LB and BB. You can then select LB to sort games by favorite so they'll show at the start of each platform as you select them in the list too. It's not as elegant as it is in BB, but it works. As for CHD's if you use the lists I mentioned, I believe many of them do specify which games (if any) on the list require CHD's... usually not many, maybe a handful on the lists require them.
  15. Get ready to spend alot of time getting your Arcade collection going though if you're planning on picking and choosing non-merged games. As I mentioned in my post above I would suggest using one of the many "all killer / no filler" lists out there for whatever type of game your into, and then just getting every rom from whatever source you use to get your non-merged roms. It's a good way of getting games you might not be familiar with, while getting mostly "good" games to play. Even with the lists I've found a few duds that made on the lists somehow lol
  16. Not related to the issue you're having, but I thought I'd bring to your attention in case you were not aware, but there are much better NES emulators out there when compared to Nestopia (as far as functionality and accuracy). The top two that come to mind are puNES (https://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?t=6928) and Mesen (https://www.mesen.ca for stand-alone or https://docs.libretro.com/library/mesen/ for info on the retroarch/libretro core)... with Mesen being my suggestion to go with for NES emulation. I believe puNES does not have a retroarch core, but Mesen does. Both of these do have stand-alone emulators though, if that's what you prefer. Anyway, I figured I'd bring this to your attention, as you might want to switch to a more accurate emulator and try and get that working rather than continuing to try to get Nestopia working (which again is not a bad emulator, there are just better ones out there now)
  17. I'm no expert in Mame, for sure. But, I decided to go with a non merged set, mostly for the reasons you mentioned. I was/am not interested in a full mame set, so size wasn't really an issue for me. I actually ended up using many of the available all killer/no filler lists out there in the internet (some on this site/forum if I recall) and just picked the files I wanted to import. I'm not interested in some really obscure arcade game that came out in the 80's that I will never play. So, the non merged was way easier IMO for me to go with, as one zip file is "supposed" to contain all the files needed for that game to play, no need for a parent rom etc. The exception is that even with non-merged roms, some of them still need CHD files in order to play properly. IMO, I'd go with whatever you think makes more sense for you... for me it was non-merged all the way
  18. That card should have no problem at all with OpenGL games, as it supports OpenGL 4.6 which is the most up-to-date version of OpenGL, which is better than the requirements that many OpenGL-capable emulators require. I guess the first thing to do is check to make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your nVidia card Assuming you're running Windows 10 64-bit, here's a link for the latest drivers for your video card: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/140341/en-us I know Windows 10 will usually install a version of the nVidia drivers, but it might not be full-features. It's always best to install the drivers directly from nVidia whenever possible. Try that first and see if that fixes whatever issues you're having. if you're still having issues report back as to what you're seeing (errors etc.) and someone should be able to assist with other suggestions. PS. Also, for each emulator make sure you have the video renderer in the settings set to use OpenGL, if that's what you want to use. Many emulators will use D3D as the default settings, and you need to select OpenGL if you want to use that instead. PSS. In retroarch there's also a section where you can select which driver you want for your video driver (ie. D3D, OpenGL, Vulkan, etc.). I'm not at my gaming PC right now, but I think this screenshot shows where/what to select if you want OpenGL to be your primary driver in Retroarch: Hope this helps, CDBlue
  19. Oh, well that's unfortunate. I guess I could just stick with either the text with details view or just turn off game details until I get to a game that I want to use the launch with options etc. that the game details view provides. Thx for letting me know though.
  20. Quick question to @RetroHumanoid about your refried theme. Not sure if this is a bug with the theme or with BB, as I haven't tested this with other similar themes (Unified Redux etc), but I noticed if I use the Text List With Details view, and then click the game to get to the Game Details page, the theme looks correct (keeps the theme look/feel - ie. wii look, widescreen video, artwork, etc.). However, if I'm using any of the other views for the game screen (wheel 2, 3, etc.), and click the button to get to the game details screen, it seems to switch back to the default looks/feel of the default theme instead of the addon theme I'm using for that platform. Here's an example of what I mean for the Wii U platform. I've got the main theme set to Unified Refried, and the Wii U platform set to use the theme Unified Refried - Nintendo Wii U. I've got the game view set to wheel 2. Game view: Click to get to the game detail view: Anyway, thought I'd bring it to you guy's attention in case it's something that's fixable at some point in the future
  21. @RetroHumanoid Small bug I noticed in today's update. The WiiU addon no longer has spinning disk animation. Not sure if this was intentional, or just missed. Anyway, thought I'd mention it in case it was not intentional.
  22. Not sure about the meta data being missing when you add a platform. Are you manually adding a platform or using the import wizard to add one? Manually adding one might lead to that bug, not sure, as adding a platform via import wizard is recommended. As for the platform name not automatically showing as a selection in the associated platforms (on the Edit Emulator tab) it shouldn't matter. Just type the name just like the platform you created is called and it should associate just fine (or at least it does for me).
  23. Just a thought, but in CEMU for those of you that are having issues launching from within LB/BB did you set/change the Custom Timer settings? I had this issue in the past, where I was using the suggestions made by BSOD Gaming for settings in CEMU, and the custom timings caused the bug you are seeing to happen. Once I switched those back to the default settings that CEMU comes with, the bug went away. Not sure if this will fix your issue or not, but since it fixed mine I thought I'd share a possible fix Hope this helps, CDBlue
  24. We need a little more info to help narrow it down I think. For example, what are the basic specs of your newer PC (the one that it's crashing in)? Was it working in that PC before, or never has? Do other emulators work in that PC, and just Redream crashes? For example: - Processor? - Video Card? - How much ram? - OS (which version of windows, 32-bit or 64-bit)? Maybe once we get that info, someone could spot the part that's causing the issue. For now, if we tried answering that it would just be a total guess as to what might be causing it
