  4. I loved following this project! I do hope it's not over. If he means that he'll continue with a paid version I will pay. This thing's amazing! Thanks for your laborious, diligent work.
  5. If people can pay 75 for BigBox and 60 for emumovies (oof) Then surely they can throw you a few bucks. Or maybe not. That's already a lot. I feel like 10-20 bucks isn't bad but a free trial would be needed to let people try it. Donationware feels smoother on the communities end but you may end up getting less funds overall. But probably more themes will get created. It's a tough one. Either way your work is professional stuff that has a lot of value.
    The amount of work it would take to research and test all of these is crazy. Very thorough and professional. A great recourse that will be useful for years to come!

    I also wouldn't mind seeing the CTC files here. Two small tweaks that would improve a bit imo. On the text games view, the fanart background goes away when scrolling through the games list. Since the other info and box art is still there I'd figure the fanart should also stay there. Also, I feel the text needs to start scrolling sooner and scroll faster. How are you doing that scroll bar trick on the right of the text list? That is cool. I want to steal that for a theme I'm working on.
    A pleasant surprise of a theme. Nice little attentions to detail here. Definitely try this one out!
  7. Yeah the red version must have been short lived or something. I explained it all to Snowway and he said, "Thanks. No worries. I will look into it". So we will probably soon have the black option when the next update drops in a month or two.

Reading this https://www.reddit.com/r/SEGA/comments/ddsj2s/the_megadrive_mini_controller_v_original/ and seeing how the switch genesis controller also uses the red accents like this, I think maybe the controller you are thinking of is a different variant of the 3 button pad. I was a Nintendo/Sony kid and never had Sega back in the day so I'm not as versed in the small differences. It seems that the red accents version was the OG original. The greyscale one seems to be more common. I can ask him to make a variant of it thats this more common style. The one that he made is a real genesis pad variant though because look at this image https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sega-Genesis-Model-2-Monster.jpg . I've already recently sent him a list of a few alterations I'd like him to make on a handful of them so I can add that to his list. He's really cool about it thankfully.
  9. I did mention to Snowway about the most loved computers. C64 and Amiga were near the top of the list. I didn't specifically mention cd32 though. I feel like he's mainly gunning for the console controllers but when most of those are done who knows.

    This program is one of the most important developments that LaunchBox has ever had. This one program sets LaunchBox (even further) apart than any other front end. The ability to create themes simply with a GUI is just amazing. y2guru has worked tirelessly on this project for at least 4 years. I have followed his youtube videos and it's clear that he's cared about the little things. With 2.5 (releasing very soon) the wheels are visible when creating a theme and this makes a giant difference in the ease of creation. This project is a one of kind labor of love.
  12. Hey y2guru, I'm making a theme. It's going well but I have a question. How do I add a simple border around selected images in a wall view as seen in this image? This is my theme currently and the cyan rectangle is just a dummy rectangle behind the wheel. I'm trying to achieve this border while still maintaining a near constant 60fps. I've tried making the border with a wheel item template but my fps in BigBox drops to what seems like 40ps when scrolling. Would it be possible to add a border option in the wheel settings for the selected game? If not, how/where can I add some code to add a simple border without using a wheel template? If it matters, my rig is a gtx1070, i7-6700k(2016) and 32gb ram and Launchbox is on an SSD Thanks!
  13. Ok, that's reassuring. I wanted to make sure that those numbers would easily be recognized between different users or machines but clearly that's a non-issue.
  14. Been using it for a few days now y2guru. It is hugely improved. I actually dropped off of the CTC even before 2.3 because the platform logos became a giant project. Using it now it now is a breeze compared to the old 1.09 I messed with a couple years ago lol. The wheel item template images that load on the fly really hurt performance even if it's just a single box art image in there. I did some back and forth testing in a wall view and I could easily feel the dropped frames. Rendering out the wheel template images was a good idea to include. One question I had with that was, how come when I render the images it assigns the images random number names? Shouldn't they keep the game name? Also just curious, is there a way to show the fps of the bigbox interface? I know things like msi afterburner can't show the fps of xaml. I'd like to measure the impact if any as I change things in the theme creator. The ability to edit the wheels live is just a night and day improvement. There're so many little things I can tell that you thought of. Its great! Performance is really good overall. I'm having fun with it and have been looking forward to making a theme with 2.5 for a long time. Thanks again!
  15. I am working on a tiny extra update that adds those 2. I didn't know about PGM but I do enjoy the game Demon Front.
    Really satisfying sounds. A pretty clean recording it seems as well. The navigation sound is a little loud but they can all be adjusted easily in BigBox. Thanks!
  16. That was at the top of my list I gave him. He just did 3DO and atari 2600. We agreed that he'll send me a set of 4 or so and make it a once a month ish update.
    Surprisingly good! Every file is named correctly and is high res. Front, Back and Spine images. They even made a generic file for missing images. The spines are also very well done. I recommend this set. It's an interesting decision that most of the front covers don't have the name of the game on them but these are custom covers and the art for these games is beautiful on its own.
  17. @C-Beats The original vector artwork was not given to me. Snowway did give me the Saturn 3d controller file to so I could see how they were made. These are not SVGs though. These are Adobe Illustrator files. Saving a file with complex effects like this as an SVG ruins the effects which is why some of my logos also don't have an SVG option. I uploaded this 42mb version of my US saturn logo as an SVG https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sega_Saturn_USA_logo.svg but if you open it, a lot of the effects data was compressed and broken. It would be neat if we had all the Ai files for these but he may not want to do that. I'll keep adding whatever Snowway gives me!

I found this artist on Reddit accidentally and was instantly blown away by the quality of his work. Having a lot of experience in Adobe Illustrator myself, I was shocked to find that these were vector and not 3D models. His artwork showcases very clever techniques to sell the 3D effects including stunning imitations of various materials. Snowway said, “I ended up really enjoying the process and just kept going. I work as a graphic designer so I can make stuff like this in between ‘real’ work stuff. Everything for my job is rush rush. So, it’s really nice to relax, listen to some music, take my time and get lost in the detail. “ I told Snowway about LaunchBox and how this kind of artwork would be a huge boon for the frontend community. He was willing to contribute and even asked for suggestions on more controllers to draw. I gave him a list and some references to help. He said that he’d get to most of them, but he doesn't want to be rushed. I said take your time! Snowway later said, “If you could in any way shout out or plug my Instagram however or to whoever… that would be amazing. I, of course, don’t make any money from that but it’s been a fun hobby and the validation is a good motivator.” Guys, show your appreciation to this artist and enjoy his awesome work!   20. As a Christian myself and recently a father I definitely know where Jason is coming from. These kinds of issues are always a bit of a grey area. I'd say most of it will be common sense as to what to delete. All the erotic visual novels have sexualized characters and stuff even besides the parts with full nudity. I'd say use your best judgement to find the less egregious characters or costumes or whatever. Again, I'd say it'll be a common sense decision. A tv commercial for a waterpark shows people in bikinis but they'd never zoom in on a boob. Obvious statements aside, thanks guys for your hard work on the DB! LonestarK I agree with your conclusion that the Game Over cover would be considered partial nudity.
