An extension of my initial default 'box' thingy--now in actual boxy form! It looks a little better than the flat logo on 3d models... Default 3D Box and Default Box folders go into Launchbox\Images\Platforms\PlatformName\ AND/OR Launchbox\Images\Platform Categories\CategoryName\ I also experimented with different looks for funzies, so I'm sharing those too, in case anyone wants them. GIMP .xcf files are included as well. For an explanation of how I use symbolic links to disperse the default image across multiple platforms to avoid tedious copy/pasting, see my initial post below: Credits: Mr.RetroLust for the base box images, niglurion and DerSchlachter for the backgrounds I used as overlays in some of the alternate boxes. Use this plugin to filter and import MAME Software Lists into LaunchBox. New - version 6.0 Requires LaunchBox 13.3 or newer* Slightly different look. Same old features. A lot of (behind the scenes) code improvement. This update has been rewritten in .NET 6.0 to “keep up with the times”. *If you’re using LaunchBox version 13.2 or older, download version 4.5 of the plugin. (For now, at least) v4.5 will still work with LaunchBox 13.3 and newer. Features: Import MAME Console/Computer ROMs into a new or existing Platform Import clones as Additional Apps, separately or not at all (Option) Skip Prototypes (Option) Skip Non-Supported ROMs Adds the Platform and Command-line Parameter to the selected MAME emulator (ex. Atari 2600 a2600 -cart) (Option) Copy ROMs to a new folder during importing Imported games tagged as not supported by MAME will be marked as "Broken". (Option) Import only games that exist in your ROMs Source Folder (Option) Ignore games that only have a Title change (when updating) Version information found inside parenthesis in a Games Title will be added to the games "Version" (metadata) Audit Feature: Compare your existing softlist console/Platform against the MAME hash.xml. Will cross check Title and Rom names. - Select the respective hash.xml and Platform - Click Audit (last page) - Any differences along with a brief description will be shown. - Option to select files (if any) and have them removed from your LaunchBox Platform. - Will check main Titles as well as Additional Apps (if you imported them that way). This does NOT check rom integrity. That's between you and Clrmamepro (or related utility). What's needed: (1) dll file included in the zip. MAME Software List hash files (located in the "hash" sub folder of your Mame's main folder) MAME Software List ROMs* and BIOS files (only if you want to actually play them) *The rom set needs to be either a Split set or a Non-Merged set for a full import If you plan to not import clones, any type set will work. What it won't do: Filter/Sort by Region (it's a MAME hash file limitation) Determine if/what BIOS files are needed Import Metadata and Media (just use the built in LaunchBox Tool) To remove extra information from the games titles [Example "(Jpn)"], select Yes, download and replace all existing metadata and media when running the tool.) How to: - Copy the "ImportMameSoftwareLists" folder from the zip file to your ..\LaunchBox\Plugins folder. - Navigate to that folder and unblock the .dll file. (Right click, Properties, and click Unblock) - Start LaunchBox. Click on "Tools" and select "Import MAME Software Lists". - Navigate through the wizard. - After running the plugin, right-click your new platform and select Edit. Set Scrape-as to whatever your platform is and save. Notes: ROM Folder Locations (screen): The Destination Folder is required even if you don't plan to copy the files. It's needed to set up the Application Path for the ROMs when Importing. Copy and/or Import (screen): To add Version info (if it exists in the Games Title) to an existing console (Platform), run the plugin and DO NOT CHECK Ignore games that only have a Title change (when updating) Selecting an emulator: The main intent of this plugin is to import consoles and computers using MAME softlist ROMs and set the games "proper" Title and application path. It will also attempt to add the appropriate Command-line Parameter for the platform in MAME’s Associated Platforms. If you prefer to use an emulator that can load MAME ROMs other than MAME (or a variant there-of), go for it. It’s recommended to select MAME while using the importer, and then change the Default Emulator when done importing. You can select the 'other' emulator in the plugin, and it will be set as the default for the platform. But it will also have the default command line parameters for the associated platform set using MAME parameters. So be sure to adjust as necessary. Importing: (optional) "Import games that only exist in the ROMs Source Folder" If using a Merged softlist set, clones will not get imported using this option. But if you have a curated Split set, this can be handy. (optional) "Ignore games that only have a Title change (when updating)" If you manually renamed your game titles, check this box. Updating: If you’ve updated your MAME emulator and MAME softlist ROMs, simply run the importer and point to the updated hash file and select your existing platform. When updating, this plugin will NOT remove any games from your collection that MAME has removed from the hash file(s). You can use Audit to compare your collection to the MAME hash file and manually remove games from your collection that don't exist in the hash file (if you so desire). Downloading Metadata: After running the plugin, right-click your new platform and select Edit. Set Scrape-as to whatever your platform is and save. When downloading metadata and Media, choose "Yes, download and replace all existing metadata and media". This will remove the Version info from the games Title. After updating the metadata, if some, but not all games got updated, restart LaunchBox and try the bulk metadata downloader again. Auditing: When auditing, if a game originally had the version info in its Title and you have ran the Download Metadata and Media wizard selecting "Yes, download and replace all existing metadata and media", you WILL see games marked as Missing. * MESS xml * Other Notes: (things I've learned) - Software List folder/file locations: - *Associated Platform Command line parameters - MAME and CDROMS1 point -

Latest Release: .278 ----279 has a compiler error, will try again tonight ARCADE64 is a Windows-based frontend for MAME, a multi-arcade emulator. Its useful if you want mame but want a nice gui for settings. No support will be provided, due to me checking the forum very infrequently. https://arcade.mameworld.info/ ARCADE64 is a continuation of the MAMEUIFX project. It is based on the latest MAME source at the time of release. It is in maintenance only (no active development of new features). What's in it? Arcade games only NO mechanical games (pinball, crane games, etc) NO computers, consoles, terminals, appliances, etc Only playable games are included –-------- This is the No-Nag version of MAME front end, Arcade64 You need to have setup Arcade 64 in advance. This is only a replacer for the exe. source code and project files available through my Github: https://github.com/xechostormx/arcade64-No-Nag I will upload new versions as long as I am still using the software. I used to make MS-DOS video snaps back in 2015 and submitted to Emumovies, and now I am back to making video snaps, starting with Nintendo Switch since I like the platform and the video snaps submitted, even Official ones are sort of a mixed bags. Most of them are either game trailer or having inconsistent video length. Not to mention the subpar edits that sometimes doesn't reflect the interesting part of the game. E.g. character dialog, meaningless wandering in town. In short, I simply don't like it. I prefer actual game play footage since the trailer could be a hit or miss, some only showing FMV. Not to mention the annoying few seconds ESRB/PEGI rating that announced the start of the trailer that really game browsing experience continuity when using frontend like BigBox. Most videos are 40s in duration, in which most of them consist of 35s of gameplay + 5s of title screen. A few of them are 30s gameplay + 10s of title screen if I couldn't find a suitble cutoff point to fit that 35s gameplay duration. An alternate version of 40s length is included if I find the snap interesting such as having different battle music. I also included a couple of long version video snap that are 1 minute in length if I find the gameplay interesting. But the long version is always accompanied with the regular 40s version. I am OCD when it comes to content creating. I meticulously and manually pick all scenes in hope that those capture the hightlight and essence of the game. Cuts are also combined with music transition so that the transition from one scene to the next are smooth. I even go as far as picking the interesting part of the title song that is attractive, rather than always the start of the theme song. On average, each video edit took me 20-30 minutes. All video snaps are edited using Da Vinci Resolve. Few of the video snaps are recorded by myself if I already have the recordings. For the rest, I manually search and download those game footage from YouTube that contains NO Watermark. I only resorted to video having subtle watermark if I couldn't find otherwise, such as several Atelier titles. Loudness are controlled so that True Peak (TP) is < -1.0dB and LUFS is < -14dB. All file are named according to Launchbox naming format, where any special character is replaced with underscore _. Enjoy this video snap pack, and leave me a comment or reply to this thread if you find my work interesting or need improvement. Pick your favorite snaps so I know the editing preference that you like. If you want, feel free to request any Switch title that you find subpar and I will try to best it out! What is it? Use this plugin to display bezels for emulators that don't natively support them. What does it do? It displays a bezel and resizes the emulator window to fit within the bezels transparent area. What's required to make this plugin work? LaunchBox v13.3 (or newer), the plugin file, bezel images and some minor setup. No more. No less. (See Setting up) Do I need to provide my own bezel images? Yes. (See Setting up for where to place them) Will it work with game specific bezels? Yes. Will this work with all emulators? Yes, with exception. RetroArch and MAME emulators will not show in the list of emulators and cannot be used with this plugin. The emulators that have been tested so far all work. Some adjustments may be necessary. (see Emulator Settings) Will this work with storefront games or Windows games? No. Can I use my existing RocketLauncher bezel configuration files? You can use the existing platform.png and platform.ini files from RL. These existing files should be located under: /RocketLauncher/Media/Bezels/platform_name/_default/something.ini (and something.png) (See Setting up [step #3]) What are the .ini files for? The .ini (configuration) files tell the plugin how to resize and move the emulator window to fit within the bezel. (See .ini (configuration) Files for more info and Testing for creating and saving them) Can this plugin add shaders as well? No. Yes. See Using Shaders (new v2.1.0) Disclaimer This works on my test PC. I didn’t test it on my cab because I didn’t want to change my emulator settings to not use fullscreen (see Emulator Settings). Outside of RetroArch and MAME, I don’t use bezels, so didn’t want to mess-up-a-good-thing. There are no guarantees, express or implied… blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. There is no risk. This plugin makes no changes to LaunchBox or your emulators. If you decide this isn’t for you, simply undo any fullscreen changes you made and (with LB/BB not running) delete the BezelLauncher folder. Special Thanks Special thanks to @MadK9 for the idea, direction and help with testing! Without him, I would have never contemplated starting this project. Also a big thanks to @Sbaby for testing un-tested emulators with the plugin. Installing With LaunchBox/BigBox not running... Download the plugin .zip file "Unblock" the file Right-click the file, select Properties, check the box "Unblock", click OK. Or better yet, just use 7-zip to open the file Copy the contents (a folder called "BezelLauncher") into your \LaunchBox\Plugins\ folder Start LaunchBox Setting up Start BezelLauncher Setup from the LaunchBox Tools menu, then click Close This will create the \Plugins\BezelLauncher\Bezels\platform_name\ subfolders Copy your bezel images into their respective platform_name subfolders See Bezel Images for more information (optional) If you have existing RL platform_name.ini files, copy those alongside the image files See .ini (configuration) Files for more information Restart BezelLauncher Setup Select a platform Choose an emulator you wish to use for that platform. Check Disabled to enable it Click Test Adjust (Move/resize) the orange frame to fit within the view area of the bezel (See Testing) Click Shaders to enable, adjust and change shader (see Using Shaders) (new v2.1.0) Click Save [to save the .ini file] Click Save on the main setup screen to add the emulator to the list of Enabled platform emulators Repeat for other platforms and emulators you wish to add You must click "Save" for each emulator you've enabled, separately. Maintenance After adding/removing platforms or emulators Run BezelLauncher Setup Click Refresh Continue with Setting up, step #5 Testing To configure the placement of the emulator window within the bezel (Requires an existing bezel image): Run BezelLauncher Setup Select a platform and an emulator Enable it (if it's not already) Click Test Move and resize the frame Click [and hold] the left or right side of the frame to move it around Click [and hold] the bottom right corner to resize Use the on-screen buttons to fine-tune the adjustments The on-screen display will show information about the emulator window. (You can click and drag the OSD to move it around as needed) x, y = upper left monitor-coordinates of the emulator window w, h = width and height of the emulator window x, y = lower right monitor-coordinates of the emulator window If any of the values are red, they are off the screen The OUTSIDE edge of the frame is the emulator window extents After adjusting, click Save. This will overwrite any existing configuration file. Using Shaders (new v2.1.0) First you need some shaders. Place the .png images in the /Bezels/Shaders/ folder (Scanline.png 'shader' is included) Start BezelLauncher Setup Select your platform and emulator and click Test Click Shaders Check the box to turn shader on Use the slider to adjust the shader Adjust the opacity down to lighten the shader Use the drop-down box to select a different shader Click Save to save your settings Parameters Depending on the emulator and the bezel, you may need to check 1 or more of the following parameters: (h) hideStuff Check this if you see the desktop behind bezel while the game is loading. This adds a black background during the startup process. (s) startupSleeper “Hide stuff” for a little longer during startup (3 seconds) (l) longerSleep Same as above (4 seconds) (g) hideGameStartup Check this if LB Game Startup screen is showing behind the bezel at game startup When selecting a platform, if the plugin detects an emulator that has been tested, “suggested” parameters will be shown. Your mileage may vary. Emulator Settings For the plugin to move/resize the emulators’ window, you will need to disable fullscreen in the emulator(s). This may be as easy as removing "-f" or "-fullscreen" from the Default Command-line Parameters (depending on the emulator). Beyond that, of the emulators I've tested, the only one that needs to have its Default Command-line Parameters altered is SuperModel. You will need to manually set the resolution. Start BezelLauncher Setup Select your Super Model 3 platform and Enable it Click Test and after adjusting the frame to where you want it, make note of the W(idth) and H(eight) #'s shown in the OSD. Save and Close. (Be sure to click Save on the main Setup screen to save Enabled as well.) Edit your SuperModel emulator (in LaunchBox) and set the Default Command-line Parameters to "-res=W,H" (no quotes, no spaces and replacing W & H with the #'s noted above) Example: -res=1420,1076 Bezel Images When you run BezelLauncher Setup for the 1st time, the plugin creates subfolders for each of your eligible platforms. They are created in: \LaunchBox\Plugins\BezelLauncher\Bezels\[platform_name]\ The platform image file needs to be in the [platform_name] folder and must be named the exact same as the platform. \BezelLauncher\Bezels\Sony PSP\Sony PSP.png Game-specific bezel files Game-specific bezel folders (or files) can be named after the games ROM filename or the games Title. Using the games Title: If the Title has 'invalid file name characters', those characters will need to be replaced with _ (underscore). The exact same way LaunchBox does with its image files (but without the -01 suffix). Example: Title = Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! Bezel = Disney-Pixar_s Toy Story 2_ Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!.png NOTE: Additional Apps game Titles are (i.e.) "Play USA Version...". So the bezel would be "Play USA Version....png". Same rules apply with 'invalid file name characters'. Invalid characters are: < (less than) > (greater than) : (colon) " (double quote) / (forward slash) \ (backslash) | (vertical bar or pipe) ? (question mark) * (asterisk) ' (single quote) Not technically invalid (post-DOS), but consistent with LaunchBox character replacement Storing game-specific bezels: Option 1: Place your game bezel images directly inside their respective \[platform_name]\ folder. Game-specific image files must be named the exact same as the games ROM file or the games Title (accounting for invalid characters). example: \BezelLauncher\Bezels\Sony PSP\After Burner - Black Falcon (USA) (En,Fr,Es,It,Nl) (PSP) (PSN).png Option 2: Place your game-specific bezel image folders under the \[platform_name]\ folder. The subfolder must be named the exact same as the games ROM file or Title (barring invalid characters). The .png and .ini files in the subfolder can be any filename. example: \BezelLauncher\Bezels\Sony PSP\After Burner - Black Falcon (USA) (En,Fr,Es,It,Nl) (PSP) (PSN)\thisIsAnyFileName.png See Launching different game versions for information about bezel requirements for games that are combined as Additional Apps. ScummVM Setting up ScummVM for use with this plugin: In LaunchBox, Edit games using ScummVM. In the ScummVM section, have both checkboxes un-checked. (Fullscreen and Aspect Correction). This cannot be done using the Bulk Edit Wizard, so will need to be done on a per-game basis. One-at-a-time. If it's not displaying correctly with just the above, try the (optional) following: Navigate to /LaunchBox/Third Party/SummVM/ and start ScummVM.exe. On the Graphics tab, set Graphics Mode to opengl. Leave the other 2 as default and the check box's un-checked. Click OK and Exit. ScummVM Bezel Files: To use bezels with games using LB's integrated ScummVM, you will need to set them up manually. It will not appear in BezelLauncher Setup. Navigate to the plugins Bezels subfolder and add your platform folder. i.e. \LaunchBox\Plugins\BezelLauncher\Bezels\ScummVM\ Add your platform default png and ini files to this folder. i.e. ScummVM.png ScummVM.ini Game specific bezels for ScummVM must be named the same as the Game Data Folder. i.e. D:\LaunchBox\Games\ScummVM\King's Quest 1 - Quest for the Crown\[game files] use: "King's Quest 1 - Quest for the Crown.png" DOSBox The integrated version of DOSBox is NOT supported by this plugin. I couldn’t get it to cooperate 100% of the time. So going with plan “B”. To use DOSBox with this plugin, you will need to install and set up DOSBox-X. Setting up DOSBox for use with this plugin: Note: BezelLauncher Setup will NOT show your DOSBox platform ('MS-DOS') as an available platform. So don't bother looking for it. Download DOSBox-X DOSBox-X releases can be found here: https://github.com/joncampbell123/dosbox-x/releases Download the vsbuild-win64 version. (direct link for the download file) Create a new folder under \LaunchBox\ThirdParty\ and name it DOSBox-X Extract the contents of the downloads "\bin\x64\Release\" folder into the new folder Be sure to unblock the zip file before extracting (unless you’re using 7-Zip) Configuring DOSBox-X In Windows Explorer, navigate to \LaunchBox\ThirdParty\DOSBox-X\. Make a copy of dosbox-x.conf. Rename the copy to [something like] "BL-dosbox-x.conf" Right-click the new 'BL-dosbox-x.conf' file and select edit (Notepad++ works great for this. But any text editor (Notepad) will work) Look for the following keys and change their Values as shown: (starting on approximately line 78) fullresolution = 1400x1080 windowresolution = 1400x1080 windowposition = 260,0 output = ttf showmenu = false "1400x1080" (2 locations) is the dimension of the transparent area of your bezel. Adjust as necessary. From your MS-DOS.ini file, use [Right X]-[Left X] for the 1st value (1400) and [Right Y]-[Left Y] for the 2nd (1080) "260,0" is the upper-left coordinate of the transparent area. Use the Left-X value for the 1st number and Left-Y for the 2nd. Save the changes and close the editor. Configure games to use DOSBox-X The following assumes your MS-DOS platform games are already setup to use the integrated version of DOSBox. In LaunchBox, select all your DOSBox games and press Ctrl+E to start the Bulk Edit Wizard. (Select 1 game in the MS-DOS platform, then press Ctrl+A to select all) On the 2nd screen select the Field Custom DOSBox Version EXE Path for Value, Browse to and select dosbox-x.exe Click Next, Next Click “Yes, I would like to make more changes” select the Field DOSBox Configuration File for Value, Browse to and select the new file you created (BL-dosbox-x.conf) Click Next. Next (again). Click "No, I would not like to make more changes" MS-DOS Bezel Files: This assumes your DOSBox platform is called "MS-DOS". In the Bezels subfolder under the plugin folder, create a new folder called 'MS-DOS'. In \LaunchBox\Plugins\BezelLauncher\Bezels\MS-DOS\, add your bezel files (MS-DOS.png and MS-DOS.ini). Game specific bezels for DOSBox need to be named the same as the Game Data Folder i.e. D:\LaunchBox\Games\MS-DOS\Cosmos Cosmic Adventure\COSMO1.EXE use "Cosmos Cosmic Adventure.png" .ini (configuration) Files The .ini files contain the monitors' coordinates for placing the emulator window. The Upper Left x,y coordinate and the Lower Right x,y coordinate Example: Upper Left X Coordinate=240 Upper Left Y Coordinate=100 Lower Right X Coordinate=1680 Lower Right Y Coordinate=1080 The platform ini file must be named the exact same as the platform. If copied from RocketLauncher, you may need to rename it (removing any under_scores). i.e. \BezelLauncher\Bezels\Sony PSP\Sony PSP.ini For game-specific ini files, if they are located in a subfolder below /[platform_name]/ (see Bezel Images, Option 2, above), they can have any filename. If they are inside the /[platform_name]/ folder (Option 1), then they must be named the exact same as the games ROM file or Title. If a game-specific .ini file doesn’t exist, the plugin will use the games platform.ini file. Launching different game versions Also known as Additional Apps, when right-clicking a game and selecting Play Version, the Additional App is not required to have its own bezel files. If the Additional App doesn't have its own bezel, the plugin will look for the Default Games' bezel. If neither of those exist, it will use the platforms’ bezel. This eliminates the need to have a separate set of bezel files for each version of the game. Useful since they most likely all use the same image. This only works for games that are Additional Apps. Plugin Folder Structure As always, any thoughts, views, opinions, [constructive] criticism, comments and suggestions are welcome.1 point -

This one took a while. Way, way longer than expected. But here it is, everything that needed to be configured, calibrated, unlocked, mapped or generally a pain in the butt to get working, has been done for you. Firstly, thanks to @Joejoe who was instrumental in consolidating this info. He researched a bunch of stuff and got some things working that I couldn't. What's been done for you? Some of these games had crazy input methods with their arcade cabinets and were mapped to some unintuitive / bizarre default inputs mappings by default. Controls have been scrutinised and tested and revised and tested once again. I haven't just set whatever willy nilly. If a fighting game has a modern port or counterpart I have mapped it to the default layout for that modern version. Everything else has been mapped to be as intuitive as possible, and I have provided layout images so you need never be lost with buttons again. -All Hidden Characters & Content Unlocked. There are 20 games with some form unlockable hidden content. -Analogue Volume adjusted for every game that required it. 13 In Total. I have also provided any passwords, engineers codes, cheat codes and important information here also. This is a consolidation of information. Everything that needs to be actioned by a player for e.g. a cheat code to unlock something will be in green. 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker 18wheelu -The parent rom 18wheelr doesn't work in Flycast due to controls not working correctly -This game only has manual transmission that had a gear stick on the original hardware. The stick on the og hardware simply held down a button for high gear and reverse. The button needs to be held for those gears which the physical stick would do. Once pushed into place, it would stay there like a real gearstick using a spring loaded thingy, while keeping the button pressed. There isn't a way to have this held in place using a controller, you have to hold the desired gear button yourself. -Analogue Volume calibrated correctly for 1:1 analogue input for the steering and pedals on a controller. Yeahhhh..... this took ages.... it usually does. This project aims to present GC games in 16:9 to everyone, as easily as possible. Just drop Pre Configured files into Dolphin and enjoy. No need to setup yourself. Part 2 is here, and man did it almost break me. I could go on about what went into this but who really cares, so I'll get on with it. I have pre applied all widescreen cheat codes to per game .ini files for Dolphin. Ones that are available to my knowledge at least. There are a few sources for these codes and I made sure to check each one to ensure I was getting the best and most up to date codes. In a nut shell: All codes that are available and working have been applied per game. Many sources checked. As many versions and regions covered as possible. If a game has a code available for multiple versions / regions it has been configured for. Check the version list in the table below to make sure you are using the correct version. Most games tested and some games have been culled from the list if the codes still allowed pop-in and jank. Performance enhancements such as 60Hz for the PAL games that don't allow it to be selectable, have been applied also. If you don't want these simply turn them off. Dolphins Widescreen Hack disabled for all games that do not need it, and enabled for the ones that do. No need to worry if you have it on or not. I've made it idiot proof. Configured for both Force 16:9 and Stretch to Window. Make your choice. IMPORTANT: We are hacking widescreen here and where some of these games may look and feel like they were designed for 16:9, others do not. UI and Menus may be a bit misaligned and other relatively minor visual issues. Be a little forgiving. However, anything that was too crappy looking I have not included. Also, as we are pushing the HW to draw in more geometry, assets etc performance with some games has been impacted. This is especially true for games that have had their draw distance/culling completely disabled, allowing everything, even beyond the FOV to be drawn and rendered. These are few and far between but some key titles do this e.g. Metroid Prime 1 & 2. Some performance scrimping may be needed depending on your PC. IINSTRUCTIONS I advise using another instance of Dolphin specifically for widescreen. Choose your flavour and download - Forced 16:9 or Stretched to Fit Window Place the .ini files in the GameSettings folder of Dolphin. This will be in your roaming app data on your C drive if you are not using Dolphin in portable mode. Enjoy!!! In the table below is the list of supported games at the moment. This list will grow as more WS cheats are made. Please check the versions that are usable for each game. Some games have all versions covered and others only have one. Preferred versions are stated as such. If a game has multiple (Europe) versions available I have configured for the main PAL version. These can be identified with the 'P' before the numbers in their game ID's for e.g. GPEP08. Soqueroeu TV Backgrounds Backgrounds for Mega Bezel Shader on Retroarch ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: This new package requires updated Retroarch versions (1.9.8 or higher) and Shader Mega Bezel pack V 0.9.097 (2022-01-05 Rev 2) or later. ------------------------------------- This is about my original TV backgrounds for use in conjuction with HyperspaceMadness Mega Bezel Reflection Shader. I think lots of people would be pleased to play old games using an actual CRT TV, so I created my own project as a nice way to have a simulated TV… INSIDE your actual TV or monitor. Believe me, this works pretty well! Please consider my work with this project as complete. New backgrounds may or may not eventually appear. Feedback is really welcome. I hope everybody enjoys SOQUEROEU – Mega Bezel TV Backgrounds! ----------------------------------------- What is SOQUEREU - Mega Bezel TV Backgrounds? My TV backgrounds are meant to be used with Retroarch. They are not conventional screen overlays: included presets automatically load configurations for Mega Bezel Reflection shader to obtain maximum retro-feeling. In fact, they are designed to work as an addon to the shader and cannot be used standalone like standard overlays as they don’t have any trasparent region for tube. Why? My idea is to develop special backgrounds to be used while playing close to big screens. Taking inspiration from other designers projects, I started creating my own backgrounds in Photoshop featuring simple TV images. They are intended to as little space for the image tube as possible, bringing comfort for those who play close to big screens. Users may find several spots to improve my work, after all I’m still tranining my skill with graphical tools! Btw, I tried to develop a wide variation of colors and shapes, so they wouldn’t result repetitive. I hope people will enjoy playing games and customizing their experience with my assets. What is Mega Bezel Reflection Shader? This is a collection of special shaders with lots of customization possibilities, as well as beautiful real-time tube reflections! They were developed by HyperSpaceMadness, with feedback from many people who like old games. In my opinion, this is one of the biggest contributions to the retrogaming emulation scene. Requirements Retroarch 1.9.8 or later with simple presets enabled. Slang shaders previously installed in your Retroarch (download from Retroarch’s update menu). Shader Mega Bezel pack V 0.9.097 (2022-01-05 Rev 2) or later. Features (v2.1) All backgrouns 16:9 @ 3840x2160 (4K) png format; Day and night presets for a comfortable experience (Night need normal preset for reference); No need for additional advanced preset adjustments; Flat and curve screen presets (NEW); Some graphics have color variations (NEW); Generic graphics for systems without their own TV (NEW); Added Nintendo Wii 16x9 preset (NEW); Added Sega Dreamcast preset (NEW); Systems included: 3DO Atari 2600 NEC PCE Super Grafx NEC PC Engine NEC PC Engine CD NEC PC Engine Duo NEC PC-FX NEC Turbo Duo NEC Turbo Grafx 16 NEC Turbo Grafx CD Nintendo Famicom Nintendo Famicom FDS Nintendo GameCube Nintendo N64 Nintendo NES Nintendo Super Famicom Nintendo Super Game Boy Nintendo Super NES Nintendo Wii (4x3 and 16x9) Sega Dreamcast Sega Mark III Sega Master System Sega Saturn Sega SG-1000 Sega CD Sega Genesis SNK NeoGeo AES Sony Playstation Sony Playstation 2 (4x3 only) To learn more about Mega Bezel Shader, please visit HSM's Forum Libretro page . ------------------------------------------- How to use these backgrounds? This guide assumes that you already use Mega Bezel shaders. It means you must have the Mega Bezel shader pack previously installed. If you haven't used these special shaders yet, look for additional information further down in this document. These backgrouns are in 16:9 @ 3840x2160 format. Presets will always use the Standard version of Mega Bezel. Please note, there are no presets with Advanced parameter in this package. Shader presets use relative path. You can then unzip this pack to any folder from the Retroarch root folder if you wish. If you choose a location other than this guide, consider the locations you determine to find shader presets. 1 - Inside the downloaded .zip you will see a folder called Soqueroeu-TV-Backgrounds_V2.1. Unzip this folder to Retroarch/shaders/ 2 - When a game is running, load a shader preset. Find presets in one of these directories: Retroarch/shaders/Soqueroeu-TV-Backgrounds_V2.1/presets/TV-Console Retroarch/shaders/Soqueroeu-TV-Backgrounds_V2.1/presets/TV-Console-Night Once applied, a shader preset might look like this: NOTE: Some shader generated bezels are combined with a bezel built into the graphic. If you want more freedom to create your own bezel, you can use "solid" graphics available for some of them. This may require editing the file paths in the preset. Beginning Users if it's your first experience with Mega Bezel Shaders, here the complete instructions: 1 - You must have Retroarch 1.9.8 or later (you will not be able to load in previous versions). 2 - You will need Slang shaders previously installed in your Retroarch. Download them from Retroarch's update menu. NOTE: You will only be able to see the Slang Shaders in the Retroarch download list if video drivers is set to Vulkan. It may be necessary to save changes and restart your Retroarch. 3 - You will need Shader Mega Bezel pack. Find the links on the MegaBezel page. 4 - If you have previous versions of Mega Bezel installed, you need to delete the old shader pack. Do not overwrite files, this can cause crashes. 5 - After downloading Mega Bezel pack, see inside the .zip there is a folder called bezel. Copy this folder into the following directory: Retroarch/shaders/shaders_slang. 6 - After downloading the TV Backgrounds pack, inside the .zip you will see a folder called Soqueroeu-TV-Backgrounds_V2.1. Unzip this folder to: Retroarch/shaders. 7 - Open Retroarch and go to driver options (Settings>Driver>Video). Set the video driver to Vulkan. It also works with GLCore, but seems to be faster with Vulkan. 8 - Still in Retroarch, go to Settings>Video>Scale. Set integer value scale to OFF. Set the screen aspect ratio to match your monitor, for example 16: 9. 9 - When a game is running, load a shader preset. Find presets in one of these directories: /Retroarch/shaders/Soqueroeu-TV-Backgrounds_V2.1/presets/TV-Console /Retroarch/shaders/Soqueroeu-TV-Backgrounds_V2.1/presets/TV-Console-Night Note: A shader preset can take between 5 and 10 seconds to load. On first use, small stutters may occur when navigating through the parameter menus. The loading time can also be a little longer. This happens because the shader is caching the changes. Wait and trust! 10 - If any background appears upside down, access the shader parameters and modify the Flip Viewport Vertical option, in the [FLIP & ROTATE] section. 11 - If you want to change shader parameters, you should know that MegaBezel offers several customization options. Once you have desired result, you can save preset to Core (active core), content directory or whole system. I recommend you save by applying to platform/console folder contents, as each system operates with different display resolutions and a customization may present unwanted results for some other core. IMPORTANT: When saving a preset, make sure you have the Simple Presets feature set to ON. This will save a preset that has a reference to the preset you loaded, along with any parameter changes you made. This is what will keep your presets loading correctly when the shader is updated in the future. Have a good time!1 point -

If there was one system platform that needed a decent 2D front and spine image set, its GBA. There are some decent GBA 2D front image collections out there, but none of them include spine images. I tried to be as accurate as possible and I think most of the FRONT covers are accurate, some spines images may be completely custom tho. (no, I dont have a list of the ones that might be completely custom, I should have kept track). And yes some front covers are upscaled, but not to the point where they look terrible. All North American games are included, along with most Euro exclusives. All the shitty GBA Video movie "games" are included, but it was hard to find decent source scans for most of them. I did not include most of the 2 or 3 game packs that had a single release. The 2 or 3 game packs I did include, are those that did NOT have a single release. Some Japanese exclusives that have been translated or use english menus have been included, but not many. I did include ALL Famicom Mini boxes that were only released in Japan, only because the boxes are cool. I did include PSD templates for the various box styles, for those that may want to create their own boxes that were not included here. Enjoy this much needed set. Any questions, let me know. I will upload a 3D Box version of this (that is the main reason I create these sets).1 point -

UPDATE 1 - Added Extreme Hunting 2, KenJu & Force Five UPDATE 2 (11/08/2024) - Major update to folders for easy placement into the root folders of RA & LB. Everything is soooo much easier. Lightgun games can now be simply switched between Controllers & Lightguns. Inputs & Images are the same as the standalone pre config for consistency. Issue mitigations with content directory .cfg files. NEW install video coming very soon. The old one is now outdated. Lets not mess about with this one. If you are familiar with what I do then you know you are getting a quality pre configuration that has been researched and tested to death. I spend hours doing this so you don't have to. Creating configurations for play....not display. As you are most likely aware, arcade platforms are a pain to setup. Controls aren't standardised and changing settings via test menus can be tiresome. What this pre configuration gives you: Firstly I want to talk about audio separately. More to the point just how ear bleedingly loud these games are and how they care not for your main device volume. So I have lowered the volume on a per game basis in their test menus so you don't have to reach for the volume control or wince every time you start a game. Most of these games are in MONO by default. I have changed all of these to be in STEREO. Controls have been scrutinised and tested and revised and tested again. I haven't just set whatever. If a fighting game has a modern port or counterpart I have mapped it to the default layout for that modern version. Everything else has been mapped to be as intuitive as possible, and I have provided layout images so you need never be lost with buttons again. -2 Player Mouse/Light Gun Ready -All Extra & Hidden Characters unlocked. There are 7 games with unlockable content -Censored content like blood is now uncensored -Analogue Volume adjusted for the racing games. This ensures a 1:1 analogue range for the steering and pedals on a controller (makes racers steering less twitchy) -All games in English -All games set to Free Play -Controls pre configured with layout images for reference and frontends. -Light gun games calibrated for both players -Audio lowered on a per games basis -All games in Stereo -Sega Clay Shooting has native widescreen and has been setup for 16:9 INSTRUCTIONS: I have only configured for the parent versions Download RetroArch Files - Control Images & PlatformXML Place unzipped config & saves folders into the root folder of RetroArch Place unzipped Data & Images folders into the root of LaunchBox ENJOY!!! Intuitive controls and everything unlocked. Here is the documentation for this configuration. Everything I have done on a per game basis is listed here. While I am not the original creator of the LaunchBox / BigBox logos, I have the best versions available in this collection. After roughly 30 hours, I have redrawn and perfected the recognizable cube shape and have multiple variants for multiple use cases. All previously used versions are available here, as well as new versions that are slightly different. All my drawings use perspective correct line work making these the best versions of these logos. They come in three sizes Small (1920x1080 max), Large (3840x2160 max) and SVG which is a vector file type. A lot of the BigBox logos can’t be properly saved in SVG format so I included vector PDFs for all logos as well. The LaunchBox logo had some uneven shapes which I corrected. In addition, I noticed the entire LaunchBox logo is not a perfect cube. Its sides are actually rectangles. I never noticed this until now. Once I saw it, I created a separate perspective correct version. I created a further revised version as well, with thicker lines, consistent line widths and punchier colors. The same standard goes for the BigBox logos. The thicker LB logo also has a glass BigBox variant which took a solid amount of work to get right. I really tried to make the glass thick enough to not be too busy and easily visible large or small. I went back and forth on every shade of every gradient until I felt it looked pretty good against dark and light backgrounds. The only versions that are official are the original taller designs. I wanted to improve them as much as I could while still keeping all of the artist’s intent. Feel free to use these how you’d like. I’ll always appreciate credit. If you like what you see here, please also check out my extensive platform logo collection:1 point -

As a continuation of the Nintendo set I released, this is more of that. The Spines for SNES games Launchbox puts on the top and bottoms and not on the sides. Missing the Top/Bottoms for: - Champions - World Class Soccer - Creepy Bird - Super Chase H.Q. - Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World - Super Star Fox Weekend - Trials of Mana - Unholy Night - The Darkness Hunter Outside of them, each game on the list should be complete. The games are also linked to the Launchbox Database. The quality can vary some but this is still a good stopgap while Launchbox's database starts adjusting to the newer 3D boxes.1 point -

I made some dynamic themes from some platforms to use in Retroarch as a dynamic wallpaper. The background images I used from a Bigbox Theme that I got here in the community, but I'm not remembering who is the creator of these arts. If you see them here, please speak up so I can give you credit. Hope you like it!!!1 point
