BigBox With Consoles Split Into Different Regions
darreldearth replied to Robin55's topic in Collections and Builds
I have mine setup he way he does in the video, what he's doing is probably what I'm doing where the main system such as "genesis" is setup as a category in launchbox with 3 platforms nested inside of it. The 3 platforms would be genesis (u), megadrive (e) and megadrive (j) •GENESIS -Genesis (u) -megadrive (e) -megadrive (j) -
Be cool to see it integrated to add to the already great art and videos available

Will there or is there a way to filter the missing content for specific systems only? Only ask kuz I have around 100k games and the results are enormous and would be so easy to work on specific systems one at a time.

Easy way to look for missing roms in a given system
darreldearth replied to SiriusVI's topic in Collections and Builds
Using an XML file you can use Dan's hyperspin tools to search a rom directory and it will match all the roms to the names in the xml file, then you can manually match whatever it couldn't scrape on it's own within the program. Then the program will export all the newly named roms to a new folder for you. Only downside is i think (not 100% sure) you need hyperspin installed to use Dan's hyperspin tools kuz they need to be in the hyperspin folder to open for some reason. Also it only uses xml files so if you cant find the full game list in xml format you wont be able to use this program https://hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/11377-dons-hyperspin-tools-4326/ -
Missing games display on collection
darreldearth replied to Glauco Fox's topic in Collections and Builds
Sounds kinda cool. Hyperspin attempted to have a list (hyperlists) of what games there were and would tell you what was missing inside rocket launcher. Be nice to have something similar which tells you which games are missing based off what's currently in the launchbox database, even if its not as pretty looking as greyed out box art. -
You might be able to sort the systems games by genre and then just highlight all the "Adult" games and click edit and then click hide. Then later just un-hide them.

Xpadder support would be great to see so I can use different profiles per system/game for platforms which are difficult to setup a controller

I would imagine you could just put the controls in the arcade controls folder for each system, unless you're just saying it looks sloppy to do it that way since the folder is called arcade controls.

Is there any way to use this same code to load a FM-Towns mds/cue file into daemon tools after having launchbox extract the files from the zip? .... @echo off start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -mount 0, %1% start /wait "" "SSF.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -unmount 0

Does anyone have a more detailed version or link of how to get fm towns running through mame? kuz i've been trying all night and cant get it working and cant find any info on the internet about how to get it working. I heard it works in Retroarch also using the mame core but had no luck figuring that out either.

The Plugin no longer works as of this week ?. I Tried copying in a new version of the latest update as well which didn't help. i'm running the newest version of launchbox (Not the beta version). i just get this error now.... here is what the error sais..... What do u think about custom themes to be created and displayed on the marquee monitor instead of a static image? kinda like the loading screens where you could have the disc spinning and show box art, clear logo and the background etc. Possibly even let videos be used for the marquee themes

Ugh... that's a lot of work kuz I have around 7000 ps2 games bin/cue format. I'll probably try the batch file method to scan every zip file and delete the cue files unless another easier method can be found. Would be so much easier if we could just tell launchbox what file types to look for for each system in order of presence

Good example of a reason you'd want to hide a platform is when you want to split a platform up into different playlists/categories such as (top level category <system>, then Japanese games, European games and usa games as categories under that, then multi disc games & single disc games under each of the 3 region categories as playlists) And then hide the original platform which has everything clumped together to make everything look pretty. That's just one example I could have used before, but I had to find a work around by making multiple platforms instead of just having 1 and using playlists. Still would make things waaaaaaay easier if any games with (disc 1), (disc 2) etc. In the title wrapped in parentheses could have separate entries in launchbox based off their disc number, similar to how launchbox pulls the region from parentheses, accept this would just keep the games consolidated under seperate listings based off their disc number. Currently I've had to add "- (Disc x)" to every game which was a multi disc game in the data files to keep them separate. Needless to say it forever.

Renaming games deletes images for games with same name
darreldearth replied to darreldearth's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, normally it's fine. I only think the images should be copied when there is more than one game with the same title. Normally it wouldn't bother me but when I'm going through my collection trying to clean up around 100k games such as games which have been scraped incorrectly, games which I'm adding (disc 1) or (disc 2) to, or games which I just need to add something like the words "special edition" to it ends up taking a lot of time when the images for 4+ games all lose their images because I changed the name of a single game. -
Import Media From Kodi
darreldearth replied to slipsystem's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
I get this error every time i try to run the plugin... Could not find a part of the path "C:\Launchbox\emulators\kodi\portable_data\userdata\database" I have all my data currently in the roaming folder but i thought the plugin was able to pull the data from that folder also. do i need to make kodi portable in order to make this plugin work? -
If there are 2 or more games with the same name in launchbox and you rename one of them to something new then all the images attached to both games get renamed to the new renamed version of the game leaving the 2nd un-edited game which still retains the original name left without any images. launchbox should create a copy of the images which it renames when there is more than one entry with the same name.

Can we run "Clean Up Media" on a single platform?
darreldearth replied to darreldearth's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah that would help a lot and offer much more control over simply deleting everything blindly. -
was trying to run the cleanup media tool but cant find a way to run it on a single platform and was wondering if this is possible without dragging all the media in launchbox out of their media folders temporary (Minus the system i want to cleanup media for) in order to just have it cleanup a single system.

In order for consolidation to shrink the games down to the lowest possible amount i have to run the consolidation tool 3-6 times for each system, and each time it sais the number dropped a little lower until eventually the number wont drop anymore. my question is... is there a reason i need to run the tool that many times instead of it just fully consolidating the first time? PS. on a side note, once in a while when running the consolidation tool some games will will consolidate themselves, as in a game will add itself to the additional apps list within itself. not sure if anyone else came across this or not.

Be cool to have separate settings for each theme so it saves all the selected views (platform, category, genre) for each theme separately.
