  1. Of course, im glad you got it sorted out!
  2. There isn't a set order for the images per-se, but it is awkward that an image showed up in the wrong category. I'm personally not seeing that, but I haven't checked every game either. When you click the blue text in the top right to go to the Database entry for that game, is that Prototype image on the Ninja Gaiden page? I doubt it, but if it somehow is, then that can explain a lot (but then open up questions on who approved that or if there is a bug). I am also curious if your install was created before the XML split (LB 6.8 or so), and you've since been updating. I'm hoping it's a more simple answer, like a potential corruption issue as that can be more easily fixed, and not some awkward bug, but I have no clue. Is that Prototype image also in the Genesis folder labeled Ninja Gaiden?
  3. How could I have forgotten MJR! He doesn't do buying guides or lists (usually), but LGR (Lazy Game Reviews) is a fantastic resource for more PC related stuff too.
  4. I like to have them... to stare at... Also, I mispoke about HCG101, because right on their homepage is " HG101 Presents: The 200 Best Video Games of All Time". So... I still don't think it's their focus, but hey, they exist there too.
  5. Oh sheesh. This is going to be a highly opinionated thread, so a warning to everyone who reads this just to be safe: lets keep it civil, they're opinions that everyone is entitled to. That said, I think RacketBoy does an amazing job at that with their Hidden Gems pages. These lists were fairly popular pre-youtube and they mention the more notable games of a console, the obvious ones like a Mario or a Zelda, but then go in to some Hidden Gems. They also do it for each system broken down by Genre which is nice. Hidden Gem though in it's self is a loaded statement now days because "Hidden Gem" is thrown around a lot, and a lot of actual hidden gems I would say are fairly well known to the retro community at this point, so honestly, you might know of several, but it's still a good list. Hardcore Gaming 101 isn't a list site specifically but is amazing (they sometimes might run an article that is listy or hidden gems type but it's not their focus). If you are in to Japanese games or random games that not too many people have heard of, and even some other more well known ones, they cover and review a lot of off the wall and random stuff. It's not ordered like a Hidden Gems or Top what ever list, so there is a bit of work to be done on the user (a bullet point list tells you squat about anything anyways), but I always find interesting stuff on there. Even if I know of a game, the site has propelled me to search out english translation patches that I otherwise wouldn't and play some odd and amazing games. Those are two sites that I respect the most, and if you are looking for even more generalized lists from a committee type situation, IGN does top what ever lists for tons of systems, and they try to update them after the fact every so often. I also think that IGN gets a ton of unwarranted flak for a lot of crap, especially running "top" articles. However, It's really good to go through those too, especially for a wider range of titles. Just search IGN Top <insert console> and you'll probably find something.
  6. That's not currently possible actually, and that might be the first time I've ever heard that as a request, but then also how would you know what game is selected? Ignoring the side bar in LaunchBox, assume the game details bar was hidden. That is a good request, and I believe to be unique, so you're more than welcome to request that on the BitBucket by clicking Issues/Requests at the top. I do think this would most likely get rolled in to the Theme options (however basic compared to Big Box), for LaunchBox, which is a Premium Feature.
  7. If you rename a platform it will be a renamed platform, and you will need to rename your Nintendo Entertainment System folder in Images, Music, Manuals and Video to the new 'NES' platform, since you've set it up as that platform and changing the name will create a new NES folder. Go in to Tools -> Manage Platforms, rename it to NES then change the Scrape As box to Nintendo Entertainment System so that way it still functions as the proper platform.
  8. That is certainly a solution to hide them, but I read it as the user was trying to create a theme.
  9. Have you checked out the XAML documentation or the XAML Tutorials on the channel?
  10. I also don't think the Database can handle Kanji, or essentially non-unicode I believe? I don't quite recall the specifications, but there will need to be added support for other font families too as well.
  11. It's not in a usable state yet, it's more proof of concept and testing at this point, but it seems promising for what it can do. Nintendo emulation is moving fast thanks to previous consoles using similar enough hardware that backwards engineering was a lot easier (I theorize).
  12. By chance, are you using a custom theme or the default ones?
  13. It looks like that version of .Net is still available for Windows 7 SP1, so I am confused, unless you've never updated your install of Windows 7. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981
  14. That is true, and in the end probably the best solution. If you haven't already made a ticket about it, you're more than welcome to.
  15. If you select replace images, it SHOULD just replace images. It should delete and download new. Also, yea, extra images can certainly impact performance. Everything has to get loaded in from the HDD, by the CPU in to RAM, so the more that is there the more of a performance drain there can be. I almost never use the "replace all of the images" option unless I want to update a platform completely, otherwise I almost always use the second option to check for categories that were missing before, or the third option to just scan for games that were not previously attached.
  16. When you use the Metadata and Media downloader, choose the second option and it will only look in spots for games that are missing media, that way, if it only half finishes, choosing this option will skip everything that was grabbed first.
  17. To be honest, we run through a lot of solutions in the thread linked, that we would just be repeating here.
  18. If you're not on the latest 7.0, try upgrading as well. There are some serious performance improvements.
  19. If I remember correctly what Jason explained to me about it, it is due to .Net or XAML. Something in the way that Microsoft's code has changed makes it more performant on later operating systems. It's something they changed or enhanced that can't be replicated on older OSes, and we take advantage of it.
  20. Do you have any actively running software? RAM Cleaners, AV Software, Firewall, that sort of thing. Have you run maintenance recently or updated drivers?
  21. Did you try going back one step in to the BB Menu, and go down to "View Custom Filters?" Do they show up here?
  22. It does make sense, but it doesn't currently exist. There has been talk of adding more control of when Additional Application stuff automatically runs though, but there isn't some sort of time frame on it. The best thing to do would be to search up the additional apps ticket on BitBucket, voting on it and adding your own notes to the ticket as well.
  23. I haven't used ScummVM in quite a while, but is there a stretch option in the video options? I assume that most, if not all of the games it's emulating are in a 4:3, 3:4 ratio, pretty much not 16:9, so you'll need to stretch out the image. The stretch option generally does this.
  24. Did you say External Array? Are you using a drive box? I think it uses RAID type of tech, but has multiple externals in one case with one cable for the PC.
