  1. Because he is running the wizard and if he chooses to run it to replace all existing media it treats it like the initial scan but I could be incorrect about that. until he answers back though we don't even know if he used that option or not
  2. Mostly we recommend that you use MAME stand alone over the RetroArch version. Running MAME through LB is just like running MAME LB is just a launcher so if you want the interface that LB provides I would suggest using it. Usually if you map the controller and it removes the keyboard key just hitting enter again and pressing the key will bind it to both. MAME excepts button combos to when you set things up so if you press two buttons simultaneously it will map that as a combo as an example you can use start and select on your controller to act as the escape key and exit the emulator
  3. When you run the download metadata wizard are you choosing the option to not replace any existing fields or are you choosing the 1st option if you are using the 1st option then I believe it will overwrite everything you have done and change all of your media it runs the process again and replaces everything.
  4. Do the versions have two separate ROMs and do you have a split set? If your MAME set is a merged set then I have no clue how you go about getting it to work if you have the split set you can probably go to edit for the game and click browse after looking at the name of the 4player ROM then look for one with an almost identical name and change the one you are using to that one.
  5. It puts them in a temp folder and then does delete them.
  6. Either the Mednafen Saturn or the RetroArch Mednafen Saturn core is your best bet. Yabause isn't really a good choice.
  7. Demul on Bay Trail may not cut it if not try NullDC

  9. The program show earlier than it used to but it is now taking a few seconds to load after being on screen its know and I think considered the new normal for now. But LaunchBox just like the future is always in motion.
  10. Feel free to share your scripts also in case other users might be interested in them
  11. Yes in your LB folder under images there should be a folder called System you would put it in the platform folder example ..\LaunchBox\Images\System\platform place your image there and if you have images for shutdown and reboot put them in the box front folder
  12. yeah that is where they are located if you set up the controller options you will be able to access it with a controller also. If you want to shutdown and reboot as a platform and not an option it could probably be done with an ahk script or a .bat but it isn't available out of the box. I honestly don't see this being added as a feature since it is redundant to the shutdown options already available but feel free to request it on the BitBucket page it can be found in the forum navigation list at the top of the page under issues/requests
  13. All of those options are already in BigBox you just escape once from the platform view and they are all listed
  14. Check in Task Manager and see if it is running there still and end the process if it it.
  15. If you are losing money why do you keep trying?
  16. Sounds like a great deal for the consumer hope it isn't a bug
  17. No worries if you email or pm @Jason Carror @Kirsten Marie I'm sure they will be able to take care of you.
  18. CPS2 ROM copier View File In the newer versions of MAME there has been a change to these files adding a .key file that is needed to run on the latest versions this also keeps them from working properly with the FBA core in RA also. I didn't have the latest version separate with my CPS2 stuff so here is a .bat to extract them from the latest MAME source you can use them to overwrite your old files and everything will work with the latest emulators. The companies only concern for preservation is if they can monetize the game again in the future. Preservation is something that will have to be done by fans of the medium as the companies aren't willing to expend their resources on it. Nintendo is interested in preservation but only because they are monetizing their games through their virtual consoles and their new retro consoles (how soon to the SNES mini) if they weren't they wouldn't care. You can't expect to get a historical preservation from a corporation as funding it would interfere with your profit margins and bottom lines plus even the future monetizement is only a small pittance when factored in these old games aren't reselling for more than a few dollars where they have been legitimately rereleased.
  21. have you tried Gamesome it is an Android frontend it is pretty easy to setup.
  22. So if you also ran File Explorer or Windows Explorer in his case as admin then it would work didn't know that but it actually makes sense.
  23. There is already an older thread called LB beta testing that ended when 6.8 came out this one is for 6.8 + so 7.x would fall into that

Backwards compatibility on another console that will just go obsolete isn't really preservation IMO
  25. There is a guy on YT named RetroHumanoid who does RL setup guides for pause and bezels he doesn't do LB side of things but once he showed you the basics I'm sure you would be able to integrate into RL using BB without any issues.
