It depends, computer can be weird things at times. Having been around computers building and fixing them for approx 20 years I have seen the strangest things cause seemingly random unrelated issues. Bad drivers or some other piece of shit software that gets installed unknowingly can cause issues but only in specific circumstances.

Without knowing your systems specs and what other stuff you have running on your PC it's impossible to tell. I can only point to the performance thread linked earlier in the thread and making sure your system is running properly without too much unnecessary software running in the background possibly hogging ram and CPU cycles.

Options > General > Updates, turn them off. Though if you are using the free version of Launchbox I don't really know why you wouldn't want the latest version since there have been significant performance boosts made since 7.10 among other features.

Do you have file extensions hidden ? If you do Windows is probably naming the file SSFmount.bat.txt so it's still thinking it's a text file.

Something really odd is going on with your system then.

Yeah the Mame guys prioritize open source and accuracy the most while that's fine I prefer to recommend based on a balance of accuracy and ease of use while taking speed into consideration as well. I like to look at the overall package. The Mame guys are more focused on the preservation and accuracy side which is a good thing but we're looking at end users actually playing the games.

Viewing all games find the game, right click and edit it and make sure that the platform is actually your TG16 platform. My first guess is that you have it imported to another platform by accident and that would explain both why it's not showing in the TG16 platform and whatever platform it actually is under is loading a core that doesn't support the game or is using an entirely different emulator.

We can mention sites but links themselves are not allowed. And yeah the forums have all sorts of goodies that I haven't seen available elsewhere such as Castlevania Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine CD but with English sub titles and boosted music volume so that it is much easier to hear it.

Just so you are aware we cannot give out links to downloads. But generally speaking emuparadise for the most part is decent enough but their main site can sometimes be problematic with CD images. Their forums however has a lot of great stuff but you do have to make an account to access the links, totally worth it though for some of the unique downloads on it. Isozone can have some good stuff but can be slow at times. Another very good place is the internet archive which you also have to register for an account and while they may not have complete sets they do have a very good selection. Those are the best places that I know of without getting into the dodgier sites that make you just through ad link hoops.

Launchbox mode is the management side meant to be used with the mouse and keyboard. BigBox mode which is the premium mode is what is meant to be used with the controller.

I think he is referring to Launchbox mode not BigBox and the only way I can think of doing what he is describing is to setup something like Xpadder or similar software to map the controller d-pad and buttons to the keyboard.

Yeah , it seems to be really picking up more and more steam. At least Alladin is a good game this time around unlike Home Alone and Power Moves.

Not possible currently, been asked for though so maybe in the future. Your best bet right now is to make a platform for those programs and import shortcuts for those programs into that platform.

Hopefully that's a suitable solution for Jason and the DB moderators, that's something I keep my hands out of.

Hopefully Jason can give us a fix for this, either fixing it somehow with the LB scraper or allowing us to put in the DB ID# manually for the few times it has troubles like this.

If I try and search for Double or Double Dragon that is all that shows up, no 1987 version of the game, though it should. The wikipedia version does show though but I would rather have the LB DB show it as well.

I just tried to re-scrape it and not re-importing it, still though it should have the 1987 version in the list when looking.

Can confirm there is no way that I could figure out how to force it to the 1987 game and not the 1995 game, even just search for "Double" every other game with that word in the title shows up but the 1987 version of Double Dragon is not in the selection. Would be nice to have a feature in Launchbox to just manually put in the DB id #. Tagging @Jason Carr

I know i'm a bit late to the thread but i'll throw my opinion in anyways. I like Retroarch for the 8,16 and 32 bit home consoles for a variety of reasons but the major ones would be unified controller setup and reduced input lag with the "Frame Delay" setting. Other reasons while not as important as the other 2 are still pretty big reasons to use it would be: -easy access Quick Menu for save state management -shaders -the best audio sync -up to date emulators always being worked on even if the version number isn't changing -much more flexibility with which core you can use (several NES and SNES cores, 2 different Sega system cores)

We can't give you any links but emuparadise has some and isozone, whether or not they are good disk images and compatible with whatever emulator you are using you will justhave to try them out and see.
