  1. What's the current state of play of adding in MiSTer integration? So that the rom code could be squirted to Mister from Launchbox. Would be an awesome addition!
  2. Thanks, now I can see the 3D box model on the second screen! My last query is could you please add a vertical rotation lock (perhaps as an option) - so that we can rotate the box horizontally without it flipping about when using the mouse?
  3. Now I can save the settings from the plugin, thanks. However, the 3D box model doesn't seem to work for me. You can see from the screenshot below that I have it selected in the settings - but the plugin displays the static 3D box on my second monitor, not the model. In fact, whichever "game view" I choose, it keeps displaying the static 3D box image.
  4. When I open the app, I get this error message each time: I tried restarting Launchbox, opening your plugin and saving again - but I get the same error message as before. Log files attached, as requested. Thanks for your input. Debug 2023-01-21 07-19-12 PM.log LB-log 2023-01-21 19-19-20.txt
  5. This looks great @JoeViking245 - but when I click "save", I get this error:
  6. These are sinister and hilarious!
  7. They do....but if you want to look at the box yourself, in particular read the text at the back - then you need to manually rotate. The self-rotation is nice for show, but manual rotation is necessary if you want to read anything. In fact, I've just realised that when you try and rotate manually, the 3D box keeps rotating. Is there a way to rotate it manually only - that would be awesome!
  8. Would you be able to add a hotkey to restrict rotation to the horizontal, when using the mouse to rotate?
  9. Possible bug with the current release (Launchbox). The game video doesn't play when it's the first game selected for that platform. For example, when I select a game from a new/different platform, I can hear the video playing but don't see the video. If I then select another game from the same platform, the video plays fine. This doesn't happen consistently, so I'm not sure what might be causing it.
  10. Not changing; I would keep the existing metadata, I'd just like to add a few new fields. For example, I could add "generation" to the consoles to specify which gen console it is, or add "romset" so I know where the roms came from, etc.
  11. I've raised this also, and have been speaking to @faeran about it. I'm hoping that we can have the functionality to add all 6 spine images. Faeran has demonstrated the work involved in this including the testing etc. Fingers crossed we can get it implemented.
  12. I think there's a couple of plugins you can look at that do something similar to what you're asking.
  13. I've asked for something similar. I think that the platforms details would benefit from being expanded to include more image types (e.g. "controller", "box-front" and "box-back"), having the ability to include custom metadata, and also as you say, the ability to add in the manual(s) for the platform!
  14. Can you post a screenshot?
  15. As I personally don't use BigBox, I would say "yes" if it can do Launchbox themes also.
  16. What determines which platforms you add to Launchbox? Why do you add some platforms and not others? Place your response in the poll.
  17. If you find sources that have complete, full box scans with all spines included, send me a PM. Looking for 100% coverage of released games for a system, which could help show that these images exist. I've looked into this further @faeran. I've focused on the Nintendo NES initially. I've found sites with full actual box scans (unfolded) for many of the USA region games. I was messing around with separating out the front, back and 4 spine images - though it's difficult to check the finished work without the feature being available in Launchbox. I don't fancy going through the whole set only to find that when applied to the 3D box model, something doesn't look right and it requires redone. It would therefore be great to have the feature, so that we can start working on image packs (and adding to the database, when that is updated). As mentioned before, adding a rotation lock to limit the rotation to the horizontal plane would open up this possibility to the many systems that would have left and right spine scans but not the scarcer top and bottom.
  18. Hey don't forget the Cassette case (single & double) - C64, CPC, etc etc!
  19. Thanks a lot @DeadVoivod. I haven't yet done WiiWare, but it is on the list. I will add yours when I can. I've been looking more into the 3D model boxes, since that feature was implemented in LB.
  20. Nobody have any suggestions about this?
  21. First rule of beta 5...don't talk about beta 5.
  22. @faeran I would be more than happy to make some packs. If you're waiting for packs to appear before you implement the ability to display the images within them - it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation isn't it. The images will be out there, but I think the packs aren't out there because no other frontend has this feature at present. If you build it, they will come. Personally, I was waiting for the feature to appear before I started working on image packs, as I didn't want to waste the time making them only for the feature never to appear. But if it would help kick-start things, I could start off by making an NES pack for example. Do you have any preferred naming convention or does that not matter at this stage? I can imagine that overall, left and right spines should be available for most systems, though top and bottom spines will likely be more challenging to source. One way around this would be to add the option of having a vertical rotation "lock" for the 3D model box (per platform), so that the box only rotates horizontally and the top and bottom spines therefore don't come into it. I had actually already requested this feature on Github - as when using a mouse, box rotation in Launchbox is a bit cumbersome as it tends to flip about the X axis.
  23. On the topic of the CD cases, other than the ability to alter size, the main thing that stands out is the black strip on the front left of the case - it should be ridged, whereas in the model it appears flat. Just detracts sa bit from the realism. Edit - the stretched jewel cases seem to have this effect, just not the standard jewel cases. Will we have the ability to add the other spines for boxes?
