  1. You are saying Windows is struggling to fit 16:9 resolution in 16:3 is that without you changing to 1600x900 like you said you tried? Who manufactured the one you have? When you click on display settings for your pc and choose that monitor and click on advance display settings what is it showing is the Active Resolution and the Refresh rate? Curious what that screen shows.
  2. No. The MameUI is the config file for the MameUI user interface and its menus. It has nothing to do with MameUI launching games, which is why MameUI creates a mame.ini. The Mame.ini if you look inside that file has all the parameters MameUI needs to launch a game, like the rom path, video options, and even some control items. This is the file important to a game running via command line. That is why we never mentioned MameUI.ini. We only mentioned Mame.ini
  3. MameUI.ini is the config for the actual UI of MameUI. Launchbox does not care about this file.
  4. LB does what you are saying you want it to do. Things changes, emulators get updated. How can you expect the Launchbox dev to know how every update to an emulator affects how things run through the frontend. Some emulators get nightly updates and can quickly make a video tutorial outdated. That's why there are people on a forum to help with those little nuanced issues. Instead of arguing against the tips and steps you are given to make things work how about just try them out. The forum mods and member are willing to help, but it can quickly get to the point they are no longer willing to help if you are not willing to listen. You do not have to change anything after it is set up if you set it up right.
  5. That's pretty odd as I have one of those screens with the same aspect and no issues. As mentioned in my prior post that resolution sometimes is still seen as 1920x1080 which is why I have modified the marquee xaml to get the images to look right. In this thread I think a couple others have a similar screen as well. Someone even had one with a 322 height and it had no issues displaying marquees.
  6. No, there is no weight that the roms "have to be" in the Mame emulators rom folder to work in LB. As has been stated by the other to mods the roms can be anywhere as long as you put the rom path in mame. The reason you are probably having issues is you are using MameUI and as an offshoot of mame they place their mame.ini file in the ini folder. LB looks for it to be in the root folder of Mame where the original mame actually places it. For some reason many versions ago the developer of MameUI decided to move the mame.ini into the ini folder. So we have had to constantly let users of MameUI no to move the ini file to the root folder where the Mame exe is.
  7. Yeah my bad, pasted the wrong file. The error was likely as the one uses a plugin to do a few things. You do not have the plugin so you got an error. I was trying to see if the image was not on screen. Some of those LCD like you have still show as normal 1920x1080 in some programs even though Windows might see it as 1920x360 so modifying the xaml to put the image on the top 3rd of a 1080 is something needed. Even then yours should have at least shown part of the top of the image. So when you changed Main screen to #2 and Marquee to #1 BigBox did not even show up on the #2 marquee LCD?
  8. I got the BigBox not closing a few times today. This last one I closed BigBox and came back 20 minutes later to open LB and BB was still showing open in task manager.
  9. Send an email to support@unbrokensoftware.com they should get it sorted.
  10. You may need to adjust a marque xaml. Can you drop this xaml in the theme's view folder. If it work the image may not be perfect, but it is just to test. So whatever theme you are using go to that theme's folder \Launchbox\Themes\[Theme Name]\Views and drop this in there. Note: if in that folder there is already a file by this name remove it and save it somewhere safe. That way you can put if back if this does not help.
  11. Typically that is all you need to do. All BigBox themes will support marquee images as themes do not require a specific marquee view xaml. If you do not have any marquee images in the Arcade - Marquee image folders BB will display images based on your Box - Front image priorities you have set in LaunchBox. Try swapping screens 1 and 2 with each other in BigBox and see if anything changes. Do you have the second screen set up in Windows to Extend or Duplicate screen 1.
  12. Add where? To your LaunchBox or the LaunchBox DB? You can add anything you want to your LB manually. Just drag and drop the file. It does not have to be in the DB. Of course if it is not you have to add your own metadata and media.
  13. It does not work though if you import them into a platform linked to an emulator. Even if you select None of the Above, when you edit the game it asks for that since it sees the platform name in an Associated Platform tab of an emulator. Ah, I misunderstood your first post. Yeah, something I have learned to get used to. Although I am not sure it has ever really been brought up in enough posts.
  14. I think your scenario differs from the OP. He was simply wanting to add a list of games to LB as a catalog. So he was getting tired of each time he added or edited having to click the prompt warning him to add an emulator. That is why it was mentioned just to create a dummy emulator. He was never planning on launching anything. As for your situation launching a game direclty from and .exe should work without issue. I have several game launching either gameloader.exe, loader.exe or game.exe and the pop up does not show when launching a game. Many of them are in my Taito Type X platform, but since TTX name is also linked to Teknoparrot emulator for some games, when I edit the games that are exe launched that is when I get the pop up.
  15. You have to add a platform name in the associated platform tab. You have to do that anytime you add an emulator or when adding a new platform that will use a specific emulator.
  16. If that is what you want to do just add a second version, name it something different and then point to the correct folder. You are not stuck to what is in the drop down list. Just type what you want in that cell.
  17. He's already sorted. We just compiled a new launcher that launches the game and adds the AHK he needs all in one.
  18. Place the old one in a subfolder. LB/BB can sometimes still try to read a file if the name still matches the platform. I had this issue before. So now if I choose to have multiple videos saved in case I want to change I simply make a sub folder and place the ones not being used there.
  19. In LB edit the emulator and in the startup tab try adjusting the Load Delay.
  20. To answer your question, yes you can change the default location for media, but it can be a bit of a process depending on how many platforms you imported. There is no simple way to bulk change media locations for imported platforms. If you right click a platform name and choose edit you will see a folder tab. You can edit locations there. Problem is there are 46 folders and you have to do each one for each platform. You could also edit the platform xml file and do a replace search to replace the old part of the path with the new part. A little faster, but you would need to do it for each individual platform. If you went this route, or even if you did the first one, I recommend making a copy of the original platform xml files just in case something messes up. Games are a bit easier. Just move the games to where you want them. Then go into a platform and select all the games. Then go to >Tools>Change Roms Folder for Selected Platform. It will update the new location. You do have to do this for each platform, but at least it is not as intensive as media. My recommendation is just move you entire LB to a new larger drive. Especially if it is an internal SSD or HDD.
  21. Can you confirm you are wanting to use they keyboard key "Escape" to close correct? I am no expert on this, but have done something similar thanks to help from a couple of our resident AHK experts. I have something that should work, but can you confirm my question.
  22. Not at home right now. But an option could be to make a launcher that will both launch the game and have the AHK. Then when the game exits it stops both the game and AHK script.
  23. You are using a launcher in Wacky Races. Your images show it. Launcher.exe is a launcher. That is what I was asking about. Did that launcher come in the download of the game files? When not using an emulator you will not have a place to paste an AHK script. You could compile an AHK and then add it as an additional app to run. Since "Escape" will not close it you would need to find out what will? Try Alt+F4 or Ctrl+Q. Once you find out what command will close the game we can go from there.
  24. Using the playlist feature in LB/BB to do this will only work if the metadata field has those listings. Currently you can only chose from "Play Mode" which more than likely the metadata pulled will not have # of players as data. There is no option to choose something like Max Players.
