You have to map your controls. Not all of them will "just work" with the Xarcade controller. You need to use your keyboard arrow keys, the back key, and enter to move around to set your controls. 1. In the Hotkey Bind section set buttons for "Enable Hotkey" (this is the button you hold to activate hotkey) and a button for "Quit Retroarch". Then when you hold the button you set for Enable Hotkey and then hit the button for "Quit Retroarch" you exit the game/Retroarch. While in this section you can set keys for things like save states, and others. If you spend sometime looking in Hotkey binds, User 1 Input, and User 2 Input sections you will find pretty much all controls you will need/want to set. Use the keyboard as I mentioned to move around, hit enter to select a control, and then hit the button on the Xarcade you want to map it to. Not really much to it. When you are done, back out to the main menu, go to configuration, and then choose "Save Current Configuration". The steps I am giving are just for universal controls. There is also a step to take to set per core controls. That way if you want a certain core to use a different control layout you can do that. In this thread if you go down to JoeVikings 3rd post he laid out easy steps to follow for per core config.

Your settings in Launchbox and BigBox will not affect any emulator. LB/BB simply passes along the command line to the emulator to launch to game. It does not do anything related to emulator internal controls for games. You should be able to easily set your Xarcade in Retroarch. I would first set the universal controls in Retroarch without a core loaded. Go into the options under the Gear Icon and set your Hotkey binds, User 1 Input, and then User 2 Input binds. Just scroll to each control, click on it, then hit the button you want it mapped to on your Xarcade controller. Save the config then reopen and make sure they stuck. You can set per core controls, but first I would set the universal mapping, launch a game and test to make sure they work. You can see from the image RA recognizes my Xarcade controls.

You will me able to create/edit your own themes. It will not be able to edit existing themes.
-
@wallmachine Seeing the same thing you are. If LB and BB are not set to the same Startup theme it always references the Default Theme shutdown. The Startup image does change, it is just the shutdown. Edited: Removed the focus issue as it turns out I Nvidia Geforce Experience on. I thought it was odd as I never had it before. Geforce has caused numerous issues for me before.

You can edit the files named "default" in any custom theme. So "Default.xaml" and "Default Shutdown.xaml" in your Pandora theme can be edited. You just cannot edit the ones in the theme named "Default". So the ones located in the Default theme folder cannot be edited as they will always revert back to ensure LB/BB has a working Default theme.

@Disco74 it is fine here. We are really not too strict on where a post belongs. I am going to close the one in Noobs and leave this one since it have responses already.

Adding games to an auto generated playlist.
Retro808 replied to Warped Polygon's topic in Troubleshooting
Is it one of the Auto-Generated playlists that Launchbox made or one you made yourself? If it is one of the ones Launchbox makes then you would definitely need to do as Monkus advised. I believe a couple versions back those auto generated ones got removed from the "add to playlist menu". Version 9.2 - Released December 20, 2018 Improvement: Auto-generated playlists have been removed from the "Add to Playlist" menu option in LaunchBox in order to prevent the list from getting too unwieldy -
I am running the same settings and have no issues. So definitely something odd. That's why the beta tests though. Helps Jason see if issues occur on different setups. So many pc variations out there.

What version Cemu are you on? Just installed 1.15.4b and no issues with Startups and Cemu in BigBox. Pause seemed to work ok. The few tests I did on various games going in and out of pause did not show issues. Tested more Model 2, Dolphin, and Model 3 and same results as my last post. Model 3 worked well. Model 2 and Dolphin the more times I went in and out of pause I would get black screen or frozen image, but still heard audio.

I do not think an update broke anything for it. I have one machine on the latest stable and another on the latest beta and attract mode runs fine. I would recommend doing as @Charco mentioned and set a key then test to see if it runs from the key press. Also check and see if by chance the settings for how long it takes to start attract mode did not get changed.

Adding games to an auto generated playlist.
Retro808 replied to Warped Polygon's topic in Troubleshooting
You have to right click and edit the playlist and change it to a manual playlist versus auto. -
RA and Mame working well. Super Model 2 and Dolphin seem to have issues every so many times you go in an out of pause. For both I get returned to either a black screen or frozen image screen but can hear audio in the back. Super Model 3 so far has worked fine. I have not seen the issue like in Model 2 and Dolphin.

Arcade cabinet build with Launchbox & Bigbox issue
Retro808 replied to ikilby's topic in Troubleshooting
What brand are they? I have a couple builds using some generic USB encoders from Amazon and some brand names like iPac and BigBox has had no issues recognizing both. If you unplug player 2 will BigBox recognize player 1 at all? -
The videos should play. Do you have platform videos downloaded and are they stored in the correct location? What happens if you change views in the theme?

Previous Versions of Launchbox?
Retro808 replied to Justine Randell's topic in Collections and Builds
He stated he runs 7 in another post. -
Ah, that's why @neil9000 is here to provide accurate data. ??. For some reason I thought he was on an older version since he keyed in the core config. Of course would have helped if I noticed the startup tab in the pic.

Previous Versions of Launchbox?
Retro808 replied to Justine Randell's topic in Collections and Builds
Unless I am reading wrong on Microsoft's webpage it says Windows 7 supports 4.7 -
What version Launchbox are you using? Looks like an older version. You have a typo in the core line. the part with libretro;dll you need to correct. It should be libretro.dll
-
No worries. We should be able to get you sorted. 1. Please post the pics I requested in my earlier post. 2. Can you confirm that your NeoGeo games run directly in Retoroach without using Launchbox? It sounds like they do according to one of your posts.
-
There are no emulators in Launchbox by default you have to choose the one you want to use and set it up. You said you followed and ETA Prime video, is it Retroarch you used for Neo Geo? If it runs directly in the emulator and not in Launchbox some pics would be helpful of your settings. In Launchbox go to Tools>Manage emulators and edit the emulator you are using for NeoGeo. Share a pic of the Emulator Details tab and the Associated Platform tab (make sure it shows the line with your Neo Geo platform listed). Then choose a game from the Neo Geo platform you are having issues with and right click and edit the game. Share a pic of the Launcher tab and the Emulation tab.

LOL. I was not even thinking of platform names when he mentioned "custom fields".
-
Are you talking about in Launchbox or BigBox? In either this would typically take theme coding to change the look.
-
Discount should be still available. I cannot remember if it is only for Launchbox lifetime purchases or not, but I do recall the EM discount applies to their lifetime purchase.

Do you have videos checked to show in the game details pane? Click on the Game Details option and make sure video is checked. Edited as I see you said you have auto play set.
