I think you will find this forum way different to many you have probably been to before. The members and the top notch mods here are very willing to help. If you cannot find an answer post away.
@G22 I like it. Nice and clean, does not feel over done. A few extra seconds added would be a recommendation as it kind of feel like it just stops. But either way I added it to my rotation. Look forward to more.
Going off of @neil9000 Make sure you are pointing Launchbox to the mame.exe and not the zipped Mame extraction exe. We have seen in the past people point it to the mame0193b_64bit.exe and it should be the mame64.exe. As @DOS76 asked if it works outside of LB then that is a good clue you just missed a connection in Launchbox, are pointing something to a wrong spot, or have something checked that should not be.
Logos here.
The other question I could not accurately answer. I am not sure if there is a set requirement as I have used videos in several different formats that work. I have never made my own just used the ones from a lot of different sources so I am confident they are not all generated to the same specs.
Looking forward to what you create if you plan on sharing. More content creators is always helpful.
Correct. Only way to do that is have the roms for gun games in a separate folder from the roms in the main Mame folder. Launchbox will not let you import the same Mame rom twice if it is in the same folder, even if it is going into a different platform.
Do you by chance have the box checked for "Combine roms with matching titles into a single game" checked and for some strange reason it is maybe combining it with a game with a close to or similar name? I have had Launchbox make an odd mistake like that before on a matching name import. That may be a shot in the dark but worth asking.
I use Mame as it will make sure it pulls up the Mame rom import wizard to allow you to check the correct boxes to weed out all the junk/broken roms. If you use RocketLauncher you do not get the Mame import wizard.
Looks like DOS got you covered on all the questions. But I can just confirm in #3 yes you can use 3D boxes. In Launchbox just set the preferred image display for each platform that has 3D boxes to “3D Box” and the theme in BigBox will display just that, so long as it is coded for it.
Not sure what is happening. I just imported a full 193 rom set on my test pc and Time Crisis imported and no issues with fruit either. The import worked as it should. I wonder if the old xml file messed up something. The fact that you say even fruit is getting imported shows something is definitely messed up.
You can bulk edit the emulator. Just choose a game and then ctrl+a to select all, right click, choose edit, then choose emulator option.
Just did a test import and like the others the Time Crisis imported fine.
You should be able to leave the prioritize box unchecked. Both the video audio will play and the music file audio, then you would probably have to adjust the music volume level. There are setting for the video and music volume levels.
I just tested and it works. I dropped a music file in the backgorund folder. I did not rename it so it does not need to be a specific name. Then I set my sound setting in BigBox by checking “enable background music” and “prioritize soundtrack music over video audio”. Videos still play but only the music file is audible.
I think there is a background folder in the Music folder of your launchbox drive. Each system will have a named folder for music for the games there as well. I have not messed with music much, but I recall seeing that folder.
No issues here as I have been tinkering with RL lately. Is this a recent install? Try downloading RL and running in a new folder and see if the new on runs.
There are sound options in your BigBox settings to “enable background music” and one to “prioritize soundtrack music over video audio”. Try tinkering with the settings there.
I would assume like any other mapping. Launch a game and hit tab and set the controls. That is all I did to map the controls to my Xarcade Tankstick. If I remember right the Ultrastick has analog capabilities so you should be able to map as analog like a flight stick. You would have to check their site for those steps. Unless there is anyone here that uses the US360 that could be of help.
I believe that is for games that may use throttle control such as Afterburner style games. You can map it to an analog device or map Inc and Dec to digital inputs.
You can remove the -fullscreen in the default command line parameters. If you open the emulator_multipcpu.exe there is a option under video settings to set your full screen resolution and then to "auto switch to fullscreen". Just an FYI.
Looks like there is a beta patch of Darius Twin. Some tracks missing MSU-1 implementation.
Oh, and my goodness what is up with the music in the Mario drop? @Lordmonkus you are right about bad choice for the tracks.
