  1. Easier said than done when you're talking ~30Gb -> ~200Gb!
  2. They're in a format that the core supports - if i extract and point to the right place it works just fine. It's just the launchbox (as far as I can tell - would love to see a log of actually what is happening!) is sending the wrong file to RA
  3. At my best guess right now, I have a problem where I'm unzipping a file to load with RetroArch, launchbox is passing the wrong file to Retroarch, and therefore failing... Is there a way to define the file from the zip that Launchbox sends? (ie. I have a gdi and a bin and I want to send gdi, not bin?) Thanks
  4. I'm a big fan of the gamecube. And I'm a big fan of the gamecube controller as well... I've set up my cab to use predominently with my arcade stick setup, but some systems (dual analogue) just don't work with the joystick For the other systems I use Gamecube controllers via the Mayflash adaptor BUT, there's an issue. The Gamecube contorller lacks an L1, L3 and R3 (analogue press buttons) So - just wondering if any inventive person has come up with solutions to a) still using a gamecube pad, but b) being able to adequately play systems that require these buttons?
  5. Thanks - realised i was being a dimwit - I had an old unused Retroarch install that had broken (couldnt download the cores) so I installed a new one. I put the system files in the wrong Retroarch instance ?‍♂️ Couple of follow up questions now, it's all working, 1) n00b question - I can't seem to remap controls - how is this done?! 2) 7z does work, but it takes a while to unzip and Launchbox doesnt keep the loading screen up while it's doing that... any way for it to do that?
  6. Thanks. So, now, i've followed all the instructions, but this is the first time I've used RetroArch and have a couple of questions... 1) Nothing is happening when attempting to run a file... i've attempted both 7z and non-7zip but it just gives me the load screen then disappears - can I see a log of what's going on anywhere? I don't get any errors... Once thats solved... 2) Can it deal with 7z or do i need to unzip my files? 3) How do I set controls?
  7. Okay @RetroGaming - i just came across this and now realise that, having go halfway through, this must be out of date, as having installed RetroArch there is no longer a mednafen core... only the one you say not to use and Beetle So... is there an update to this?
  8. I'm finding that my fades disappear while a file is unzipping with no indication that anything is going on, so it just looks like something is broken. Any ideas how to resolve?
  9. I have an issue with Launchbox and bezels (via Rocketlauncher) They load fine, as does the emulator, but they do not sit behind the emulator as they do when launched via RL directly, and I have to manually (or ahk) send an Alt-Tab to change focus Anyone know why this is? Is there a workaround? Does LB have plans for native bezels at any point to solve this?
Love this theme. It's very intensive and I had to tweak a few things to work on my machine will, but it's amazing. Few bits and pieces I'd tweak, but love love love
  10. Yeah, i looked at this but going to create a right mess of spaghetti! Might be the only way tho...
  11. Yeah, I was thinking something like that. BUT... the problem for anyone using the machine is, there's then a barrier to knowing which generation a certain system is in (except for me who's researched it!) Part of the reason I want to rejig it is so that my kids, my mates etc know exactly the kind of thing they're getting in each category I like this option too, but i guess the year is more of a 'sort by' rather than the main title. I'm also not sure if i'd then want the manufacturers under the major categories... e.g. Handhelds -> Sega -> GameGear
  12. The way Platform Categories sort in LaunchBox has been bugging me for a while, especially around Console sorting... Basically, I have some super cool consoles that have the true 'nostalgia' feel because I lived through them, cluttered amongst consoles that are pre- my time, but I still want to exist in my collection. So I've been trying to think of ways to organise and wondering if anyone else has found a better way of organising... I don't want to have a billion levels in BigBox, so wondering about breaking out by console generation, years, possibly by manufacturer but nothing is really hitting the spot for me right now, so just wondering if anyone else has re-organised their collection and how they feel about it now?!
  13. Yep, exactly the same version I'm using for Name in Launchbox and RL, just still seems to show the nag for Mess
  14. Sorry to jump on the thread but trying to set up some Mess systems with Mame to take over from RocketLauncher Starting with Amstrad GX4000 - i can get it to load fine, but I get a nag screen at the start telling me the system - i don't get this with RocketLauncher. Everything is the same otherwise (i checked the RL logs and copied the command line arguments from there...) Thoughts?!
  15. Thanks - that simplified things a bit! I do still have an issue with Amiga specifically however - Launchbox is correctly loading it but the game startup screen disappears almost instantly and I'm 99% certain because whatever is happening it thinks that the game has quit the moment it loads. I then see the FS-UAE launcher and it boots correctly Anyone else have this issue? It is compounded by the fact that Launchbox is also sending LED Blinky a quit command too, because it flashes the LED amiga controls but then shows the quit animation and goes back to Launchbox light scheme, hence why i'm 99% sure this is what is happening. It only seems to happen with amiga...
  16. Oh, interesting - i missed this! That should resolve the issue with the fades not working properly due to it seeing the open and close of launcher and assuming it was the actual game Do i just edit the emulator to replace the exe with the fs-uae exe?
  17. Thanks @SNAK3ATER! When can we expect V2?
  18. Thanks guys. Had a look and you can put them in platform subfolder, but they don't seem to support shortcuts so if i want to randomize 75 sounds then I'd need to have a copy of each of these in every subfolder. Would be nice to be able to put them the level up to have for everything, but guess it is what it is!
  19. Thanks you! I'll give that a try over the weekend Will it cycle those pics in the PNG folder or do I need to rename one of them?
  20. Thanks! Do you know how I can make them only play on subcategories? I.e. in the games lists... on the main menus my playlists/platforms already have music on the videos?
  21. It would be nice to get an IF statement in there (if I knew how!)
  22. @SNAK3ATER ?! Guessing it's something to do with <Setter Property="Text" Value="{Binding Path=ActiveGame.Developer}" /> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=ActiveGame.Developer}" Value=""> <Setter Property="Text" Value="- - -" /> </DataTrigger> But having not looked properly at how these themes work I'm purely guessing right now...
  23. Is there an FAQ on adding Background Music? I have a bunch of MP3s that I want as background music to every game select, but not to top level platform categories or playlist selections... how can i do this?
  24. That first playlist is perfect for what I want - how do I get Big box to play that?!
