  1. Just put out beta 3 guys with the overhauled startup videos. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out: - New Premium Feature: Big Box Startup videos have been overhauled to be run from within Big Box instead of launching VLC directly; videos will now automatically run for the full length of the video unless skipped with a key or button press - New Premium Feature: Big Box now supports random startup videos as well; simply create a LaunchBox\Videos\Startup folder and drop all videos to be randomized inside Let me know how they're working for you guys.
  2. Yeah, agreed. That is something that could be improved for sure. The Platforms.xml file contains all the media folder paths for the platforms.
  3. Hehehehehe. No problem DOS. I'm just relieved it's not another weird bug.
  4. @ALIE I've added that caching issue to my short list. I agree I need to figure that one out soon. @DOS76 Wow, that's odd. What is the relevance of C:\Launch Box? Is that where LaunchBox is installed?
  5. Wow, crazy issue. We have seen some issues with deleting platforms in the past but I haven't seen them pop up in quite a while. Generally, in order to delete a platform, you have to remove all instances of the platform from the Platforms.xml file as well as delete the platform's games file from the Data\Platforms subfolder. It's possible that somehow the platform name is still being referred to in an XML file under the Platforms folder, even if the file name doesn't match. That would be my best guess here. However, finding the issue that caused it...ugh...
  6. Yeah, we have looked into doing this in the past, but it becomes a nightmare to support all of the different types of ROM sets. If and when we do add it, it will strictly support No Intro only. But hopefully we can add it soon.
  7. The funny thing is here, we have lots of people using two different monitors with different resolutions who do not have this issue, so there has to be something else strange going on. For example, lots of people use their second monitor as a Marquee, and the marquee screens almost always have different resolutions. So there must be something deeper causing the issue. Strange.
  8. Wow, that's interesting. Sounds like there's a glitch with Microsoft's APIs, since we use them to determine the screen resolution of the selected monitor. I'll add this to my list though @cammelspit and see if there's anything we can do to fix it.
  9. Yes, I am aware of this issue and I need to dive into it again. It's been a major problem because of the cache files being in use, which makes them difficult to delete. In the mean time, you can force-fix it by going into your LaunchBox\Images\Cache folder and deleting images in this format: .bbflow-PlatformOrCategoryOrPlaylist-* Sorry for the trouble here. I'll get back to it soon.
  10. Beta 2 is out now guys with the following: - New Feature: Media items and Windows shortcuts can now be imported more easily using the new "None of the Above" import type in the import games wizard. Simply drag media files or Windows shortcuts over to LaunchBox and select "None of the Above" when choosing the type of files you are importing. - Improvement: Checkboxes on the Import and Download Metadata and Media wizards now remember their settings for each import/run (where relevant). Selected image types are also remembered. - Improvement: The import wizard now prefills the platform field with the currently selected platform in LaunchBox - Improvement: Additional Applications in Big Box have now been moved into a sub-menu so that the names are not cut off and they don't clutter up the game details menu All of the above is new except for the second item I simply added the check box saving to the Download Metadata and Media wizard as well. Tomorrow morning in the live stream I plan to tackle improvements to startup videos.
  11. @wallmachine I'm sorry we haven't come up with specific resolutions for the issues you're running into. @CriticalCid may still have some solutions for you, however, as other themes have been able to get around pretty much all of those issues. I have struggled specifically with the video placement issues over and over again and haven't found a good solution due to the limitations of the VLC integration. There are workarounds, however; Cid is probably the most familiar with them. Per the other two issues, I'm not exactly certain what they are; it looks like the video is no longer available in the linked thread.
  12. Hopefully this is fixed now guys. It seems Tapatalk does a poor job of keeping itself working lol. Feels like every time I turn around it breaks. I think this time it was just an outdated plugin; I've updated the plugin so hopefully we're good to go, at least for now.
  13. I have heard this quite a bit lately, but I haven't been able to reproduce it for whatever reason. It's odd that it's affecting both WMP and VLC for some users. The setting I listed above was supposedly the problem for one person, but apparently not here. It's definitely on my list; it's just going to take some sleuthing to figure out exactly what's going on.
  14. Unfortunately there isn't currently a migration tool, no, though that is something that I would definitely like to build yet.
  15. @DFelten Do you have Auto Play Videos checked under Options > View in Big Box?
  16. Wow, really? Okay, well that makes sense. Is that really the only issue?
  17. Yup; that must be it.
  18. Hmm, that's pretty strange. The cache shouldn't need to be repopulated between versions; it uses the same file names so I don't follow. There must be something different going on that we're not identifying correctly. The only possibility with updates is if the code was changed in how the cache works between updates, but I haven't changed that code for a while. My versions change constantly though in my personal collection due to development and I don't run into this, so somehow we're missing something.
  19. @DanThurman Unfortunately videos do require premium, however. They're not available in the free version.
  20. Thanks guys. Was good to read this this morning. Gotcha. Yeah, I can see the benefit of adding a folder-based import process for Windows games like the above. It would still be fairly complicated to implement even with the user selecting the EXE from a drop down list, but hopefully we can tackle it eventually. In the mean time I do plan on allowing you to leave that emulator field blank here soon.
  21. Hey guys, I am aware of this issue but for whatever reason I haven't been able to replicate it yet. It is definitely on my list though. That is a good question though; what theme are you using?
  22. https://emumovies.com/acctupgrades/
  23. Unfortunately the EmuMovies discount code works only on the EmuMovies lifetime memberships.
  24. Hi @Retro808, yes, the code is listed on the license email you receive. It's not a membership, btw; just a license to the product. Thanks!
  25. @DR9 Thank you sir; we're gonna keep working hard on it for many years to come.
