  1. Maybe we're looking at this from the wrong angle? How are your MP3's and video encoded? What kind of codecs do you have installed on your machine? If Jason has made several changes now hoping to be related, he could have either not have found it or the problem lies in a completely different area that hasn't been found out. A combination of video and audio is doing this, so I say we inspect those two items. Like, a combination of audio, video and software installed is causing a crash. Has a fresh install of Big Box also been tested?
  2. You get what you pay for is exactly what I was getting at, but it does come to down to what you want to get out of it in the end. I can only recommend Adobe stuff because I've been using it for 7 years. I used to use other stuff, and once I switched over (in the less legitimate way), it was one of the best things for my work. Once I actually had the means to afford it, and it was on sale, it was a no brainer, but not everyone wants to be a video editor or after effects artist, or your scope doesn't really call for spending a ton of money.
  3. There's lots of video tutorials online for Adobe at least. Also, I think James does use the Adobe stuff, we've talked about his workflow a few times.
  4. I know Jason wants to add more to it in the future, but yea, the video may loop a bit and that setting in the options can be changed to be slightly shorter. Instead of 18 seconds in Big Box you would have just chosen 15 seconds. The XML entry you edited and the option should be the same. I imagine Jason put it in milliseconds so that it could be fine tuned later, or have more flexibility.
  5. LOL, I meant my mother in law or my wifes mom, not both, you're right. I'm still waking up!
  6. I'm grabbing something right now to look at, but I don't have it yet.
  7. Ah yea, no, I don't think it is. Sorry, should have specified first at least. I am sure you could achieve something similar to what you want, but not exactly, so some things would need to be updated or changed in order for this to work right fully.
  8. Over a Gigabit too. Did your other PC's slow down with net usage, or did your DL speeds suffer? Another reason why Network stuff over extended periods is not a good idea for me, is because I share the connection with my wifes mother in law and step dad. They watch lots of stuff.
  9. Most likely, or the Playchoice 10 stuff. I wonder if there are samples for other MESS systems.
  10. This sounds like a cool feature request, so the best place for it to go would be the Bit Bucket ticket system. Click Issues/Requests at the top and put what you said here in there. This way, it can be tracked and users can vote on it if they like it. This is the best way for requests to get tracked, and don't forget to vote on it yourself!
  11. If you purchase Premium and are really unsatisified or an issue really can't be solved for you, Jason would be more than happy to issue a refund for you.

    Cemu

Well add that for CEMU (-g in the defult command line parameters box) and it should launch no problem.
  13. Yea, it might be worthwhile to copy your install else where so you can get a more accurate measure? To be honest, an SSD wont give you a ton of extra performance where a 7200RPM SAT3 can't handle. The CPU is the most important, followed by the GPU for Big Box. So if you're that worried, you could put LaunchBox on an SSD, and your games and video on a regular hard drive, you can tell LaunchBox where to look. Or, keep it all on the same internal hard drive as that will make it the best for portability. If the size of the PC is of concern, a 5400RPM SATA3 2.5" Hard Drive will still work, but you're not gonna get the sizes needed for a collection. I'd be curious to see how PS2 or GameCube games load off your network too, I would imagine those would give some issue. Here's the size of my video, and my library has just over 30k game entries:
  14. I think that is the eventual progression, or at least I think it was. There was a bit of a focus change with Audits recently, and I don't know if this was one of them. The best thing to do would be to make a ticket on the features you want to see (get to our BitBucket by clicking Issues/Requests at the top), and / or talking in the Audits thread. You can even post your ticket in there or here too. That would probably be the best way for Jason to know what people want, because BitBucket tickets are votable.
  15. Huh... I wonder if it's just a naming issue, but I fear it might be a bug. I'll pass this along to Jason though. We haven't looked at ScummVM in a while, maybe this spurs that on.
  16. I've been wanting to get one of these things, but money. X_X Either one of these, or an Android based handheld like this. 3DS or Vita style
  17. I would honestly say to move to RetroArch for TurboGrafx 16 and CD insatead of Magic Engine. My original tutorial I used RetroArch and PCEjin, but I've since updated it for just RertoArch use:
  18. The slider in the bottom right hand corner of LaunchBox should scale your images. There are more customization options for the exact look of your LaunchBox in the options menu for Premium members. Big Box is also Premium and should scale better for a 4k display.
  19. Do they have the platform named something differently by chance?
  20. You can add a Platform without importing if you'd like under Tools -> Manage Platforms. Also, don't forget to set the Scrape As function for your custom platforms. Like the Famicom for example should be set to the NES Platform. They are supposed to be merged, but it just hasn't happened yet.
  21. Ah sweet! The program I use for duplication finding isn't as sophisticated, so this is nice.
  22. Some of the games should tell you some info in their name, but the easiest method I found is to also display the rom name in the game details bar. It's in the options for the game details side bar if you want to enable it. That way, if you do know the rom file you are looking for, you can view it here too. I would say that you might want to do two passes of imports. One for the default North American, and one for World. I myself did 3, North American, Japan and World, with the same check boxes for each. There are some duplicates that I've been removing, but it also ensures that I have most of the games I could want.
