  1. Hi Jason. I'm not sure if this belongs here (Contributions) or in Troubleshooting. Apologies if I've got this wrong. I've got a pair of uploads stuck in a sort of Pending Limbo. One currently has 104 Approvals and 1 Rejection, the other has 76 Approvals and 1 Rejection. The games in question are Glug Glug and Nebulus for the Enterprise platform. Both of these games are in active moderation since the 6th. of June, and so it's quite safe to assume that they are not going to be Accepted or Rejected. I'm just wondering if it is possible to have them removed/deleted from the submissions in order that they may be re-submitted. I'm not certain but I suspect that my entry in the MaxPlayers field of both games may be the culprit. I don't know whether it's the inclusion of text, or the use of a comma.
  2. Hi Jason. I just grabbed the new beta and gave the BigBox Platforms Clear Logos Wheel a good spin, and the random border lines are finally gone. Well done on persevering with this pesky issue and solving it.
  3. Hi Martin. The Platform Clear Logo transparencies look fine when viewed with an image editor like The Gimp, Paint.NET, FastStone etc. The issue only occurs within BigBox. The odd thing is it's random; as you loop through the Platforms, a particular Clear Logo will be ok, then show the border issue, and then look ok once again.

    ZInc Games

Here is how to get Zinc up and running in LaunchBox. Download these two files. Zinc 1.1 emulator (zinc11-win32.zip). OpenGL and D3D renderers 1.2 plugin (d3d-ogl12.zip). Unzip the emulator. Unzip the renderers plugin. Inside this are 2 folders with D3D and OpenGL versions of the Zinc renderer. They have the same filename but are different. Decide which version of the renderer.znc file you want to use and copy it into the root of your Zinc emulator folder. Copy the renderer.cfg file into the root of your Zinc emulator folder. Overwrite the existing file when asked. Now get your games. Remember that some will need a bios file, and clones will need their parent rom. Game and bios roms all go in the emulator's roms folder - leave them zipped. Zinc is command line based (no GUI), and unlike other emulators which use the game's rom name in the command line, Zinc uses a game number to specify a game to load. As you can see Zinc can't be used directly with the Use Emulator box ticked, since the ROM file (Emulation is enabled) box cannot point to a number. Instead with the Use Emulator box left empty, the Launcher tab entries can now be set as follows For the Application Path box just browse to the zinc executable. And for the Application Command-Line Parameters box just type in the game's number. If you really want to use Zinc in LaunchBox Emulator mode then you will need to write a batch file that will take the rom name and convert it to a number and then call zinc with the number as a parameter. Apart from the game number, the command line can handle other parameters if needed (see the text file that comes with Zinc). And here are two images showing a sample game setup and what my Zinc folder looks like.

Just to confirm: I've sourced the Mame 177 version of this rom (gberetb.zip) and it contains the missing pal16r6_ic35.5h file and audits ok in Mame 177.
  6. Hi folks. I may be misunderstanding things here, but are you trying to get BigBox to show Clear Logos in place of Platform Box or Game Box images? On the Platform level you can do this within BigBox by selecting Options, Images and enabling the Prefer Clear Logos for Main Platform Image. On the game level you need to open LaunchBox itself and select Tools, Options, Box Front Priorities, then enable the Clear Logos tickbox and then move this up to the top of the priorities list and click OK to save.
  7. Hi Martin and welcome back! Great to see you back here. Last time you were here you would have known me as scree.
  8. Unfortunately, this will also disable Screenshots in LaunchBox Desktop's Game Details Sidebar and Flyout. But if you're a BigBox only user this won't matter.
  9. Open LaunchBox (not BigBox). Select Tools, Options, Screenshot Priorities and clear all checked boxes and click OK to save.

Hi slashguns04. This game is a bootleg clone of Konami's Green Beret. Your rom version, like mine, is for Mame 176. You should grab a version of the game for use with Mame 177. When I audit this rom in Mame 177 I get the following.
  11. I've just tried this out and both the Platform Details+Notes and the Games Notes scroll ok. I like the way they fast scroll back and repeat once the end is reached. Many thanks to Jason and silvusvalentine for this feature.
  12. Hi folks. There's a similar thread (Runtime Error for over 24 hrs. now) posted in the LaunchBox Games Database, Troubleshooting sub-forum which Jason is responding to.
  13. Hi Jason. I just checked the platform where I had duplicate removal issues and they're all gone. Many thanks.
  14. Hi GamingOldGuy. Additional Apps is a very powerful feature. It's setup in LaunchBox and is then automatically available in BigBox. I use it to auto-start and auto-close XPadder game profiles, to run pre-release and trained versions of games, to play multi-disc games, to access on-line game maps., to display ProgettoEmma information for Arcade games and much more. If you havn't used it then you really should check it out.
  15. It very well may be that this issue is not too obvious when variegated (fanart, screenshot etc.) or moving (video) backgrounds are used, but it stands out against a non-white, reasonably uniform background and the darker the background the more noticeable it becomes. It's not a huge issue but it's very unsightly.
  16. I'm having the same issue. I was actually seeing it in the betas as well. When I start BigBox all looks fine. The problem appears after scrolling the platforms. Attached image 1 is at BigBox startup. Attached images 2 and 3 are after scrolling through the platforms.
  17. Hi Jason. I'm still having this issue. Some games that were approved for deletion have actually been removed from the database, but others are still in there after being moderated and accepted for removal.
  18. Not at the moment. It was requested ages ago and Jason has it in mind. There may be a ticket up on BitBucket for it that you could vote on.
  19. Hi Mute64 I'm also on Version 6.7 official and this feature is working fine for me using the keyboard for BigBox navigation.
  20. Hi nemesys. I'm not too sure, but it looks like you are showing game titles. Open LaunchBox (not BigBox) and select Tools, Options, Screenshot Priorities. Select Screenshot - Gameplay and move it up to the top of the list and save. Now open BigBox and you should see your gameplay images, providing you have them.
  21. Seems I misunderstood you due to it being in the Image Thread. You're right, the LaunchBox gamesDB has no Neo Geo CD section. You could make a Missing Platform topic in the Contributions.
  22. Hi retrosky. Here's a simple one in my attached image to tide you over until you find a nicer one. You might also check out Zombeavers Platform Banners. He does real cool stuff and I's sure he'd oblige if he already hasn't one for the NeoGeoCD
  23. Hi Jason. I just discovered that the fields in LaunchBox (desktop mode) List View can now be moved about. However, if I switch to Image View and then return to List View, the fields are reset to their default order. The same applies if I exit and restart LaunchBox. I can't find a way to save the sorted fields.
  24. My apologies Jason. I've just had 2 games accepted and they are now in the Database with all images intact. Many thanks for fixing this issue.
