  1. Hi @porterballs Jason is aware of this issue and is working on it's cause. As a temporary fix, go into Tools, Options, Sidebar and turn off the Show ALL box.
  2. Platform sorting issue - the plot thickens. I'm still on beta 3 with my platforms out of order. I have ALL and GAME COUNTS enabled. I deleted a platform I no longer want and my platforms sorted ok. I added a new platform and my platforms went out of order again, so I removed this platform and all is back in order. Next I added a different new platform and all is still in order. Very odd indeed. And now my Developers are also sorted ok, but Publishers and Genres are still out of order. Not too sure if going to beta 4 sorts things. @neil9000 your images for your Platforms for beta 3 (29 and out of order) and beta 4 (30 and all in order) show that you added a new platform.
  3. Many thanks @viking Beautiful work on all three.
  4. @viking https://we.tl/hC71acx4ov @Rincewind Many thanks for that.
  5. Hi @viking So I went to WeTransfert but this just shows the wiped blackboard screen with some text and no way to interact with the page. Tried WeTransfer and I can upload my zip but I then need to specift an email address to sent it to.
  6. Hi @viking Found an old set of mine of Memotech game videos with sound. Where do I upload the zip with the game videos? Here or is there somewhere else?
  7. I don't see why it shouldn't be added. After all the LaunchBox Games Database currently has the PS3 and PS4 platforms, and neither of these consoles can be emulated from a game playing aspect.
  8. It's a difficult one indeed. I sent my data folder to Jason some time ago and he couldn't get it to show the issue. It also affects other views like Developers and Publishers.
  9. Hi @neil9000 In your second image, when you enabled Game Counts you also enabled the ALL box. If you turn ALL off then your platforms will sort ok. With ALL on, they will be out of order whether Game Counts is on or off, but the order of the out of order will change when Game Counts is toggled. This issue first arose when the Platform Categories feature was implemented, but it's behaviour has changed since 7.8 beta 1 arrived.
  10. Hi @viking I have the following videos if they are of any use An MP4 platform video for the EACA Colour Genie H264 640x480 25 fps 36.5 secs with sound A collection of 16 MP4 game videos for the Enterprise H264 320x240 30 fps of various lengths (29 secs to 37 secs) with sound A collection of 9 MP4 game videos for the Memotech MTX 500/512 H264 320x240 25 fps of various lengths (20 secs to 50 secs) with no sound And for the Colour Genie images these are the best I have without infringing. One is Public Domain and the other is LaunchBox Dropbox repository.
  11. @viking Excellent work on these. Great to have the ones for the old 8-bit systems. If you ever find time you might consider EACA Colour Genie Enterprise Memotech MTX 500/512
These are superbly designed and presented. In BigBox they really grab your attention while not cluttering up the screen. And I really like the inclusion of the vintage 8-bit systems. Hats off to you @viking
  12. It seems to be a bug. To get rid of it in the interim, you can either turn off ALL NONE EXISTS, or else turn on all three of the options..
  13. Hi @FistyDollars This issue has been there since the Categories were introduced, but now it seems to have gotten worse. This is all tied in with the ALL NONE EXISTS and GAME COUNTS settings You diddn't notice it before probably because you had ALL enabled but GAME COUNTS off. But now the problem is worse and you are seeing it even with GAME COUNTS off.
  14. Arcade games can be funny at times. I remember the first time I launched XII Stag which uses a CHD and Taito G-NET. The initialising process took ages and the screen was rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise and in Japanese. But the game itself played right way up.
  15. As of MAME180 there are about 475 CHDs. Run MAME itself outside of LaunchBox and select CHD from the left panel to scroll through the list.
  16. And CHDs can vary wildly in size as well, with some only a few tens of MB and others several GB. The Beatmania collection of CHDs alone weighs in at around 44 GB.
  17. This may be of use to you http://illusioncity.net/nec-pc-88-series-emulators-tools-lists/
  18. Hi @Dave B. Punchout (the parent set and each of it's 3 clones) plays fine for me through LaunchBox. I noticed in your opening post that you mentioned punchout.rar I haven't come across MAME game sets using this extension before, but if MAME outside of LaunchBox plays it then it must be as valid as zip or 7z. All I can suggest is you source the game elsewhere and see how things go.
  19. Hi @Patham To allow MAME to emulate voice synthesis with the 4 Intellivision games that use it you will need intv.zip intv_voice.zip and your Associated Platform Parameters should be intv -cart1 voice -cart2 To play the Intellivision ECS games including the one that uses voice synthesis you need intv.zip intvecs.zip intv_ecs.zip and your Associated Platform Parameters should be changed to run the clone machine intvecs -cart1 voice -cart2 As there are only a handful (6 I Think) of ECS games, you can use the Associated Platform Parameters for the Intellivision and then for any ECS games use the custom Parameter intvecs -cart1 voice -cart2 The Intellivoice feature was in only 4 Intellivision games B-17 Bomber Bomb Squad Space Spartans Tron: Space Sailer and in only 1 Intellivision ECS game World Series Major League Baseball
  20. Hi @djandyt The additional (external) roms needed by some DICE games should be in a MAME full romset. They are easily recognised by the [TTL] suffix.
  21. Hi Derek Yes you can also do it without modifying your odyssey2.zip bios. In this case just add the three files from the Voice Passthrough Cart to a zipped file named 02_voice.zip You get the same result now using 2 instead of 1 zipped files. The Associated Platforms parameters will be the same. I'm not really gone on this voice synthesis stuff from the 1980's myself, I prefer those games without it, but it's fun to play around with. Edit 02_voice should read o2_voice
  22. Hi @zorkiii The o2em config file works fine for me for launching games in fullscreen. To use the Odyssey 2 voice synthesis in MAME you will need to grab the Voice Passthrough Cart. This contains three files sp0256b-019.bin spr128-003.bin spr128-004.bin Add these three files to your odyssey2.zip bios. Your bios should now look like o2bios.rom sp0256b-019.bin spr128-003.bin spr128-004.bin In the Associated Platforms for MAME, add your Odyssey 2 platform and use the parameters odyssey2 -cart1 voice -cart2 You will now hear the synthesised voices in games that use this feature. Also, as MAME emulates the speech synthesis chips, the wav samples that you use with o2em are not needed here.
  23. Regarding your first suggestion, adding missing Platform (the actual machines) images, specs and descriptions for all missing ones is done by the LaunchBox devs. Virtually all missing images and info was collected by one of the forum members last year. It was planned to have all this in the games database so maybe it's still in the pipeline. Regarding the games themselves within each Platform, the 3 platforms you mentioned do have games in them. The Sega CD has over 200. The Sega Genesis has close on 1100. The Sega Master System has over 350.
  24. Hi @zorkiii The best way to enable fullscreen is to add this to the emulator's 02em_def.cfg file. Add it as just fullscreen. Leave out the - bit. And if you use fullscreen in the config file, don't forget to remove the -fullscreen parameter in your LaunchBox Edit Emulator settings, as it will override the config file fullscreen setting. MAME can also emulate the Odyssey 2 very well.
