Flame war ? No one is being flamed at all.
-
You can get a lifetime license for 30$, just 10$ this year and 20$ next year instead of 10$ and 20$ now.
-
lol, yeah /r/emulation doesn't seem to be much of a fan of Launchbox since it's not free and / or open source, we tend to avoid that place since.
-
You're right, it's really not hard to complain about something being cheaper than it is normally, Jason should just do away with the sales. You just had to go and make your first 2 posts here complaining about a sale.
-
So you';re complaining you can't get it even cheaper ? Here's a tip, upgrade next year for 20$.
-
Yeah, this is not possible at all, you will want to use something like Reshade which is an external shader program for OpenGL and DirectX games.
-
Yeah, there has been a sale every year since I have been around and that's going back a few years now.
-
Yeah, I am fairly certain that you can upgrade the license at any time, even if it's been a couple of years. Send an email to support@unbrokensoftware.com about that, changes can be made but it's not 100% guaranteed to happen.

Well it looks like they finally added the non fast core. For the longest time it was only the fast version of the emulator which used hacks to improve speed so the difference is one is fast with hacks while the other is slower but more accurate. Kind of like how there's different versions of the bsnes cores for speed and accuracy.

No problem.

I would just simply remove all your PS1 games from LB and then re-import but just the cue files. I suggest putting each game in their own folder within a folder called something like Playstation, then from there use the windows file manager search and type in *.cue. This will show you all the cue files, press control + a to select them all and then drag them into LB to re-import. You can uncheck all the media to speed things along since you have it already from the first import.

That first image looks like there is an issue with your disk image or whatever file you imported into LB is. You should be importing the cue, not the bin which is what looks to be imported. Your emulator settings in LB look to be correct.

The costs do add up when you add in the costs of getting all the old original controllers plus everything else and it does get complicated, I have seen all the posts from people asking how to setup all the emulators for each and every controller. It is complicated and costly when compared to just having 1 or 2 controllers total, so yeah it is an opinion when you say "nothing beats" I have zero qualms playing N64 games with a modern dual analog stick, in fact I prefer it over my original N64 controller which is hooked up to my N64 on a CRT. Yeah the dpad on it is pure trash. This is why I use an Xbox One controller for anything requiring an analog stick and the Hori FC4 for anything that just uses the dpad. The Hori is superb and really is the best all around controller for anything that doesn't require an analog stick. It has all the buttons you need, great layout, great dpad and on top of all that it has some of (if not the lowest) input latency (on the controller part of things) around. I'll agree with this, if I were to just use one and only one controller I would probably go with a DS4. It has very low input latency over bluetooth and feels great in the hand. The only downsides with it for me personally is the dpad, only 4 face buttons and battery life on them is awful.
-
Yes. Just download it from a reputable site.
-
That's a nice opinion there. Too bad it's costly and far more complicated and requires a bunch of adapters and finding good condition original controllers which is not exactly easy. Personally I will just stick with an XBox One controller for N64 and up while I will stick with the Hori FC4 for anything earlier. The Hori FC4 is by far my favourite controller, it has a long (10 ft) cord, has 6 face buttons and 4 shoulder buttons for all your button needs and is extremely low latency.

Help needed with Mame SL CHD Neo Geo CD set and Mame
Lordmonkus replied to vgbox's topic in Troubleshooting
There is a thread somewhere here on the forums already showing how to get software list stuff working with the RA Mame cores. -
There are plenty of controller discussions here on the forums already but if you only want one for everything including more modern analog stick consoles then I would suggest something like an XBox One controller. It's easy to setup without any 3rd party hassle and will work with everything. Or you could get the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro which from all reports is very good. https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Sn30-Pro-Bluetooth-Gamepad-mac/dp/B07T8JKVNT/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=8bitdo&qid=1573771980&sr=8-3&th=1 You would have to set the controller up in all the emulators you use but once it is setup you really shouldn't have to re do the bindings every time you load a game or change systems at all.

Subjective question gets a subjective answer.
-
Yes, I read your question and it's been one asked before and answered the same way, you can get a pre praid credit card without a bank account. Others have done this without issue. Jason is also aware there are sales missing because of the issues with PayPal which are detailed in the very first post of this thread. So, if you have a better suggestion then by all means feel free to post it to Jason.

Help needed with Mame SL CHD Neo Geo CD set and Mame
Lordmonkus replied to vgbox's topic in Troubleshooting
Using non arcade system games with the Retroarch Mame cores is quite cumbersome, it's doable but requires a bunch of extra work. I would suggest for Neo Geo CD to use either stand alone Mame or the FBNeo core in Retroarch. There are guides and thread discussions here on the forums for it. -
Use a pre paid credit card.

Video Discussion: What Retroarch SNES core is right for you ?
Lordmonkus replied to Lordmonkus's topic in Videos
I built my new rig last year with a Ryzen 2700X in it and even though it's more than capable of running Higan at full speed I still prefer the Snes9x core for the above reasons plus it is so much easier to use the MSU-1 hacks with it. Nowadays when I want to play SNES "accurately" I play on my MiSTer. -
