  1. No problem! Hope it works out for you!
  2. The built in reader doesn't quite work that way. However, try this tutorial, which uses SumatraPDF. I tried it with pdf and a few other formats including comic books and it's running smoothly
  3. Sounds good! I tried to change the XAML myself but was completely lost Anyways, thanks for the response and keep up the good work!
  4. From what I've noticed, MAME and Retroarch both use CHD. Basically, what you're saying is that (with the exception of mednafen) there's no reason to use the cue/bin format?
  5. This is a really great theme! But is there any way to change the wheel into a vertical (not round) one? I grew tired of Hyperspin's 'flashy' round wheel several years ago Or, it would be nice to have the text-list with the same background as the wheels view
  6. Nicely done! I'm not sure if I'll ever get a chance to use these since I have only about 3 or 4 PS3 games, which probably don't work with RCPS3 but I'm sure that that the community as a whole appreciates it
  7. From what I've heard and from my own personal experience, the standalone emulator Xebra is the most accurate of them all, although it (obviously) doesn't have those nice features which are given with the Retroarch cores
  8. Wow! This theme is basically the "nail in the coffin" for hyperspin! Nicely done! However, after several years I've grown really tired of their traditional wheel-style. It would be perfect if there was a more "bigbox-style" wheel available with a simple vertical direction instead of the circular direction
  9. You can also see this option being used in the theme RetrAO Cafe with a rather cheesy yet effective background video
  10. I was hoping that this would be possible too as I've seen in a few other themes, but I've tried it and it doesn't seem to have this option. Would be nice though
  11. Based on previous experiences, the majority of the games should be compatible while some will not because of changes made by the MAME team or new/better roms have become available, causing the previous ones to become obsolete
  12. Yep, jzintv is probably the most accurate intellivision emulator of them all, although I wish it had a slightly more 'friendly' interface. This information does come in handy though!
  13. Just chiming in here with some of my own personal advice For most systems, pre-2000, go with Retroarch However, there are some "oddball", lesser known systems which won't work. (eg. Bally Astrocade, Emerson Arcadia, Fairchild Channel F, etc.) The good news though is that those oddball systems and many "classic" computers will work with MAME, in which I recommend the stand-alone emulator rather than the Retroarch core, since it's usually more up to date and easier to work with in my opinion. As for the others, Sega Dreamcast: Demul (most accurate) or NullDC (older, slower systems) Sony PlayStation 2: PCSX2 Sony PSP: PPSSPP (the standalone is usually more up to date than the Retroarch core) Gamecube / Wii: Dolphin Wii U: Cemu Nintendo 3DS: Citra (Canary build is running nicely these days) And I would recommend some of the standalone emulators like Vice for Commdore 64/Vic-20 as well as WinUAE for the Commodore Amiga as they're the best ones available for those systems
  14. Very impressive! Flashy yet practical and convenient (new) interface keep up the good work!

    C64 Vice

Agreed. Retroarch would certainly be nice to use, given all the extras it comes with. I just tried Retroarch with a few Commodore 64 games and LaunchBox, and had no problems. Did you make sure to add -L "cores\vice_x64_libretro.dll" in the default command-line parameters? Also, I believe you need to add Commodore 64 bios in the "system" folder

    C64 Vice

Did you try the standalone version? It's a lot more stable than the retroarch version, at least from my experience You can find the latest version here http://vice.pokefinder.org/

    RocketLauncher

I've been using RocketLauncher for quite a while but have never tried any. What types of plugins are available?
  18. Really appreciate the help but the whole process in photoshop is rather daunting and complicated. However, animget is a very useful program! In the meantime, I'll hold out for another method for now
  19. Unfortunately BigBox crashes when you use a gif as a fanart background, or at least that's what happened to me just now. However I'll try a few different other conversion methods and see what happens. Perhaps @Jason Carr is out there reading this, and will someday implement video backgrounds into the games list Also, I've seen video backgrounds used in themes like City Hunter, however it uses the same video for all games list
  20. Thanks a lot for the tip! Any advice on what's the best program/method to convert a mp4 to gif?
  21. Since this topic came up, I was trying to find an answer on my own about this but haven't really been able to find a genuine solution just yet. Is there any way to use a default video (instead of a static picture-background) in the games list? For example, I would like to use one particular video in the background for Sega Genesis games, and if I switch to the Super Nintendo games list, there will be a different video playing in the background for that roms list. This might already be possible (or not?) but I wasn't exactly sure, and I tried to change the video with the City Hunter theme in the same manner as I mentioned before, but without any success. Any help or information would be appreciated
  22. On a related note, and as a multi-purpose solution for video backgrounds, I just found that you can accomplish this with the CityHunter 2 theme, which is already built in with the latest version of BigBox. Just put your background video in the folder "\Themes\CityHunter 2\Videos\Backgrounds\Default" with the exact name of the platform (eg. Sega Genesis) and you'll have this games background (with video running). Quite a nice surprise! Edit: Oops! I just realized now that the background video turns off an on every time you select the next game on the list. Almost, but not quite perfect
  23. I can't check this at the moment but after you delete the image, you have to refresh the image cache (in BigBox options), and that should remove it permanently, otherwise that platform banner may be residing elsewhere, such as the "default" theme folder. However, the method you mentioned is another good alternative
