  1. How about trying another emulator? Vice is a much more 'complete' emulator and I've never had any problems loading games with it through LaunchBox
  2. I've (literally) tried every frontend out there during the past 5-10 years, and now I only use LaunchBox and AttractMode (another frontend) for these (mostly subjective) reasons 1. Hyperspin is very easy to make themes with, but lags on my computer while being a flash-based program, or at least that what its themes are made from. Also, its 'tech' is way behind the times (1024x768), and caters more to those who want a flashy 'in your face' style. 2. RetroFE is a very nice frontend, relatively easy to set up and customize its themes, but it runs noticeably slow when you add more games, media, videos, etc. There is an obvious wheel-lag whenever I use RetroFE 3. EmulationStation is very snappy and has a lot of great themes to choose from, but it always 'jumps' back to the desktop for 1-2 seconds just before entering and exiting from a game. This doesn't look smooth at all, and is a deal-breaker for me 4. GameEX is great for HTPC setups, but too bloated for my taste, unattractive, a little slow, and simply not worth the money to get rid of that 'nag' screen while you start up the program 5. Mgalaxy is good for people who want a very simple 'just works' type of frontend, but it's way too simple for my taste and not all that attractive or fun to play around with 6. LaunchBox is the most actively developed frontend available and only gets better and better with time. Jason seems to be very much in tune with what the community wants and is doing a pretty darn good job of keeping his customer-base happy and satisfied 7. LaunchBox is really 3 frontends in one, with LaunchBox as a pure iTunes-like interface to prepare everything with an attractive interface, LaunchBox 'Next' for a more simple, clean and snappy version of the previous version, and BigBox for the ultimate eye candy. 8. The possibilities seem to be endless with LaunchBox/BigBox. So I keep coming back here everyday to see what new things are brewing up and being developed at such a wild and fantastic pace I'm sure that there's more reasons but I'm too sleepy to keep going, and I think I made my point
  3. Yep, that worked for me Thank you very much for the help and fast reply too!
  4. As much as I love this theme (one of the best by the way), there's one major issue/gripe I have. The clear logos in the platforms screen are not really "clear". They often have very noticeable black boxes around them which ruins the simplicity and overall fluidness of the design. Is there any way to fix this @Grila
  5. For specific emulators/games issues you might want to try the rpcs3 forums for better answers to your question https://forums.rpcs3.net
  6. +1 on this idea! I also grew very tired of hyperspin's "in your face" wheel
  7. Keeping the selected title centered? I've requested this feature a few times before and still waiting
  8. No problem! Hope it works out for you!
  9. The built in reader doesn't quite work that way. However, try this tutorial, which uses SumatraPDF. I tried it with pdf and a few other formats including comic books and it's running smoothly
  10. Sounds good! I tried to change the XAML myself but was completely lost Anyways, thanks for the response and keep up the good work!
  11. From what I've noticed, MAME and Retroarch both use CHD. Basically, what you're saying is that (with the exception of mednafen) there's no reason to use the cue/bin format?
  12. This is a really great theme! But is there any way to change the wheel into a vertical (not round) one? I grew tired of Hyperspin's 'flashy' round wheel several years ago Or, it would be nice to have the text-list with the same background as the wheels view
  13. Nicely done! I'm not sure if I'll ever get a chance to use these since I have only about 3 or 4 PS3 games, which probably don't work with RCPS3 but I'm sure that that the community as a whole appreciates it
  14. From what I've heard and from my own personal experience, the standalone emulator Xebra is the most accurate of them all, although it (obviously) doesn't have those nice features which are given with the Retroarch cores
  15. Wow! This theme is basically the "nail in the coffin" for hyperspin! Nicely done! However, after several years I've grown really tired of their traditional wheel-style. It would be perfect if there was a more "bigbox-style" wheel available with a simple vertical direction instead of the circular direction
  16. Yep, exactly
  17. You can also see this option being used in the theme RetrAO Cafe with a rather cheesy yet effective background video
  18. I was hoping that this would be possible too as I've seen in a few other themes, but I've tried it and it doesn't seem to have this option. Would be nice though
  19. Based on previous experiences, the majority of the games should be compatible while some will not because of changes made by the MAME team or new/better roms have become available, causing the previous ones to become obsolete
  20. Yep, jzintv is probably the most accurate intellivision emulator of them all, although I wish it had a slightly more 'friendly' interface. This information does come in handy though!
  21. Just chiming in here with some of my own personal advice For most systems, pre-2000, go with Retroarch However, there are some "oddball", lesser known systems which won't work. (eg. Bally Astrocade, Emerson Arcadia, Fairchild Channel F, etc.) The good news though is that those oddball systems and many "classic" computers will work with MAME, in which I recommend the stand-alone emulator rather than the Retroarch core, since it's usually more up to date and easier to work with in my opinion. As for the others, Sega Dreamcast: Demul (most accurate) or NullDC (older, slower systems) Sony PlayStation 2: PCSX2 Sony PSP: PPSSPP (the standalone is usually more up to date than the Retroarch core) Gamecube / Wii: Dolphin Wii U: Cemu Nintendo 3DS: Citra (Canary build is running nicely these days) And I would recommend some of the standalone emulators like Vice for Commdore 64/Vic-20 as well as WinUAE for the Commodore Amiga as they're the best ones available for those systems
  22. Very impressive! Flashy yet practical and convenient (new) interface keep up the good work!

    C64 Vice

Agreed. Retroarch would certainly be nice to use, given all the extras it comes with. I just tried Retroarch with a few Commodore 64 games and LaunchBox, and had no problems. Did you make sure to add -L "cores\vice_x64_libretro.dll" in the default command-line parameters? Also, I believe you need to add Commodore 64 bios in the "system" folder

    C64 Vice

Did you try the standalone version? It's a lot more stable than the retroarch version, at least from my experience You can find the latest version here http://vice.pokefinder.org/
