  1. Although my concern hasn't quite started "piquing" just yet I'm becoming a little worried too. Updates, news, information, youtube developer sessions were coming in at a rapid pace until about 2 months ago. My guess is that Jason, with a house full of people out on summer vacation, has his 'plate full' and may also be awaiting the progress on an updated 3D engine that him and another fellow has been working on as of lately, which is supposed to be a real game-changer, according to what I heard in a few of his developer sessions.
  2. About a month ago or so I tried out Mario Kart GP with the Dolphin Triforce fork and although it took some extra work to get done, it worked quite well and was certainly fun to play also
  3. I was playing around with this emulator (medusa) just now and found the answer to your issue. In the default command line parameters, just type -f According to http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/MGBA (same author/programmer as medusa) That should open the program in fullscreen. Also, make sure that you've set up the Nintendo DS bios in the medusa settings/configuration, otherwise there will be nothing to look at and nothing to play
  4. Yep, seems very fishy. I'd definitely report him, or at least investigate a little further to see whether or not he's doing anything at all legit
  5. I'm not sure if this helps, but in the past when I had a similar problem, I found out that it was caused by different platform names. While launchbox was using the platform name "Arcade", Rocketlauncher was using the platform name "Mame". The platform names should be the same in both programs, and in the case of Rocketlauncher, it's case-sensitive. For example, "Mame" (right) "mame" (wrong)
  6. Mr. Shaw never knows when to quit, does he? However, I wonder if he's buying individual (launchbox) licenses for each hard drive? Probably not, but I've seen him (or someone similar to him) mentioned here before and they were able to report him to YouTube successfully
  7. Yay! I finally got it working. Once I found the 5200.rom file and saved the configuration, it started to work and every game I've tried so far has been playable. Thank you again!
  8. Just wondering if it's even worth it, or should I just stick with Altirra since it's already an excellent emulator
  9. I tried it also earlier today and had the same results. Does anyone know how to set up the bios with this core?
  10. Great work once again! The new "launch with" option seems to be working nicely, although I've only tried it with launchbox so far and will try it with bigbox a little later
  11. This is some excellent news! Altirra is my "go-to" emulator for the 5200 and Atari computer systems
  12. Right, and I was one of the people who voted for it to be implemented (about a year ago or so) Let's hope that this feature will be 'enhanced' sometime in the near future
  13. As far as I know, there isn't a frontend (such as Launchbox) that is capable of doing this, at least not yet. You can have multiple sub directories with a frontend like retrofe which is pretty decent, but for me it runs way too slow and it is not nearly as intuitive and convenient as launchbox. Having said that, this will probably be implemented in the future but if you want to see this feature added and contribute to the development of launchbox/bigbox, you can always send a bitbucket request https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/new
  14. Thank you! This is very useful for the vice-win (Commodore computers) emulator!
  15. It's a great theme and I wanted to say thank you very much for putting this together. It might sound a little strange, but if there was a vertical view (instead of horizontal) as an option that would be very interesting Also, it would be nice if there was nothing appearing on the screen instead of a screenshot of the fanart appearing when a rom's video is not available. (as shown below)
  16. Oops! Sorry, didn't catch it. I was mixed up with my other post about a week or so ago, where I brought up my bitbucket request which discussed the same option/feature. Thanks for the information!
  17. Looks great! But please don't forget my #1 on my (original) list. I've been waiting for this to happen for quite a while 1. The option to allow the selected title in the basic vertical rom list (BigBox) stay centered (instead of scrolling all the way down or up)
  18. If you use the original 'mame' program (not the retroarch core) the software list roms aren't necessary. It will work with other rom sets (goodsets, no-intro, tosec, etc.)
  19. I've seen a lot of great ideas from other users here and I would just like to share a few of mine that I've been thinking about for a while 1. The option to allow the selected title in the basic vertical rom list (BigBox) stay centered (instead of scrolling all the way down or up) 2. The ability to use custom box images (in bulk) for various platforms/systems when there are no images available. (instead of using the generic 'rubik's cube' bigbox image that appears in its place). I've mentioned this idea a few times before and it got a lot of positive feedback from other users. 3, Also, I very much like the idea of clicking on right-click and be able to choose other emulators, as it has been mentioned by zombeaver and others before 4. The ability to change rom paths in the bulk edit wizard (mentioned also by other users) 5. Add in any of the features available in RocketLauncher, and LaunchBox/BigBox will not only be the greatest frontend, but the greatest work of programming in the 21st century!
  20. Wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors, and thanks again for all the help and great advice through your youtube tutorials!
  21. MESS/MAME seems to work just fine with Apple IIe games. Also AppleWin is a very good emulator and is still getting regular updates. Be sure to use "-f -d1" for the default command-line parameters
  22. Perhaps one day (soon?) this could be done with the new plugins system. Maybe not all at once, but little by little you could get each of the features available in RocketLauncher such as the fades, pause screens, built in bezels, and so on. However, I'm no programmer and I have no idea what the plugins are capable of doing, and I can only hope that someone out there is already working on these ideas
  23. Thank you everyone! It's not that I want to completely change the way the rom-list scrolls permanently but it would be nice to have the selected rom "always centered" as an option. I'm sure some people like it the way it is now, but for some reason it just bugs me the way it scrolls all the way down (or up) like it's messing with my eyes
