I've used all of them mentioned in this thread, and they are all comparable in terms of functionality, at least they were. I think xpadder is the most intuitive, but probably you should stick with what you're using now and don't worry about switching until you run into a particular issue. Did you setup rocketlauncher as your emulator? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

You still have to run that exodos setup, and get the conf files and point Rocketlauncher to where you store them. I just took the entire folder of them and put them in the same folder as my dosbox module and pointed RL there. It's pretty awesome being able to keep the entire set zipped and launch that way (I took the actual games out of the exodos folder structure and put them on my rom drive in a folder called Microsoft MS-DOS). The good news is it works the same way for the Win3xO set. However, because the Dosbox module needs to point to a config folder for both... your options are you can create a duplicate of the dosbox module and call it Win3xo or something and point that to the Win3x0 configs... which is what I did to get them both working at the same time, or you could try pasting the win3xo configs in the same folder as a exodos ones... that might work too. Edit: Unless there is a workaround though (or if they updated the LB database since I imported which was last year), you will have a few problems importing the zips into Launchbox. Because the naming of the exodos set is a little different, launchbox didn't find all of the exodos games and incorrectly matched some as well. Again, the database may be updated, but its something to watch out for.

Absolutely incredible theme. Clean, fast, and looks just as good for systems you don't have a lot or any art for. I wish the Switch had a signature loading screen, I'd turn it into a fade screen for Rocketlauncher. Also need to get some uniform bezels in different aspect ratios to complete the experience. Again, awesome work, awesome theme!

He's selling other people's work. It's a dick move. If he makes every scrap of artwork and video and wanted to put together LB without a lisence, I'd still feel bad for his "customers", who think they are buying time but really are not because they will be flooding the forums now with questions. But he didn't do that. He's selling what's freely available and beyond any legality (I can almost guarentee he's either providing a lisence or selling dupes of his on the sly) it is still a dick move. Launchbox not finding games that are in GamesDB
fromlostdays replied to Ruthalas's topic in Troubleshooting
If not just a miss match, this is usually because of the way the file is named. Like are you importing launchers, or exes named weird? To fix it, just right click edit the game and at the top search for the right game name. Also, how is secret world legends? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk -
Look through the custom themes people make, there might be that comes closer to what you're looking for.

I don't think there is a way to do this currently. Someone might be able to make a plugin for it.

No input when using Bigbox over Steam Link
fromlostdays replied to Ritzii's topic in Troubleshooting
It's definitely a problem with steamlink. I launch bigbox from steam with the xbox one controllers and have no issues. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk -
Still not an ideal solution since launchbox is supposed to be portable, but definitely good to know. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

It does because it sends a keyboard input, so it will work exactly as if you pressed the escape key. It's worth noting that I do use a program called Rocketlauncher, which is set to kill an emulator when escape is pressed regardless of what the emulator wants to do... so I've never actually tried pcsx2 without that... meaning if I recall esc might just minimize the emulation and leave the UI up? If that's the case, there may be a setting in pcsx2 that will allow you to close the emulator on esc press... I'm pulling from memory here haha. But as long as esc or some combination of buttons will exit the emulator, you can use a keymapper to bind it to your controller. I use xpadder, but joy2key is another viable option. Maybe even pinnacle but I've never used that one.

Pcsx2 and Dolphin, this never worked for me in either case. I haven't looked too much into it yet, but a quick workaround until it's probably addressed is to keep a keymapper open to a mostly blank profile but bind one of the buttons to esc. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Also note that you're going to want a subscription to emumovies if you don't have one. Lb has its own database but some of the art and all of the videos come from emumovies. So factor that into the budget. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Also, there's plenty of videos up on YouTube for you to see what you're getting. There's no fluff there. I mean people put extra time into their individual setups, but by and large those videos are just bigbox and an occasional theme, which are free and easy to use. Does launchbox pull artwork from mame folders as well as online?

Does launchbox pull artwork from mame folders as well as online?
fromlostdays replied to djbucksta's topic in Noobs
Edit, I should amend that launchbox has a "clean artwork folders" option. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't run that if I had something wonky with the regional folders. I actually pull the art I find in those folders into the main and delete them, but they always come back. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk -

As far as regional folders.... I'm actually not sure about that either. I suspect lb might even check there first for regional titles but since the region isn't in the filename, I'm willing to be putting the artwork in any of those folders will work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk -
Does launchbox pull artwork from mame folders as well as online?
fromlostdays replied to djbucksta's topic in Noobs
Yeah I can't speak to what launchbox will do in that scenario. Only because launchbox appends the media name as romname - 01. I know that if you have two files romname - 01 and romname - 02, it will pull one or the other randomly. You could use Bulk Rename Utility to easily append the file names in that folder with a - 02 before you copy to be safe. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk -

Alternately you can just drag the media into the folder launchbox expects it in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk -
Umm... I don't know what's in that thread, but if you select a system in launchbox and go to tools/audit, you can sort your entire game list based on any media feild. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Default marquee for ROMS that dont have an image?
fromlostdays replied to Super_Paulie's topic in Noobs
I don't think this functionality exists yet, unfortunately. However, you may be able to achieve this via batch. Batch create copies of the default marquee you made to the number of games you have. Then batch rename them based on your xml to game names. Then copy and replace your actual marquees over that. Place in correct folder and voila. I don't know any type of programming language but a few quick Google searches might get you there. In the meantime, finding the bit bucket request for this feature and voting it up. Not just for marquees, but for all image types. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
