  1. Hate to contradict you here fella, but...... I have the same issue on some themes. If the theme is built to support 16:9 videos the 4:3 videos are off centre as they start where the 16:9 one would, but are not as wide, so are seemingly placed towards the left of the screen because of the lack of width, (basically the 4:3 image doesn't stretch as far across the screen so seems to be aligned to the left) This only happens with WMP and aligns just fine with VLC.
  2. Awesome, thanks so much. I have great affection for the spectrum but our database is severely lacking images. I would help myself but I have zero artistic talent, and have never used photoshop in my life. Thanks again.
  3. Awesome, I hope someone adds that to a theme. Also I spy a new theme in the screenshot.
  4. Sure, hope it helps you. Sinclair ZX Spectrum.zip
  5. You may need to cycle to a different view in the default theme, not all the views have the favourites and recent games I believe. Also go into options/views and make sure you have "show filters recent games" and "show filters favourite games" enabled, like this.
  6. Looking very nice. I look forward to seeing the end result. Unfortunately I don't have a ini for the games I have, it was just a "best of spectrum pack" I downloaded off the net to replace the full set I originally had. The full set had about 5000 games with a lot of shit included and the majority had no images at all on the database so I streamlined it down to that 300 best of. The best I could do is give you my Launchbox .xml for spectrum if that would be of any use to you?
  7. I saw this error when I very briefly dabbled with rocket launcher, you need a older version of Dolphin I believe.
  8. You can go to edit emulator/retroarch then the associated platforms tab. That is where you specify certain cores to work with certain systems. You only need one copy of Retroarch.
  9. Hi Jason I don't usually use videos in Launchbox as they are better suited to Bigbox, but I have just tested this and I can replicate it also. Here is a quick video I just made demonstrating the issue.
  10. Yeah and it only seems to be the initial input when backing out of the platform, once that freeze/pause has ended I can scroll through my whole platform list just fine, backgrounds pop in just as they should while moving through the list, it's just that initial back out from a games list to the platform list that hangs for between 5-10 seconds on my system.
  11. Yeah I am having the same issue. General performance is good, but when I back out of a platform and scroll up or down to select another platform the theme seems to pause for at least 5 seconds while it loads in the background image for the next platform. The program takes no input during this time, so I just have to sit there and wait for the background to load in before I can navigate again.
  12. Can you go to tools/manage emulators and double click your retroarch and check that your screen looks like mine.
  13. Launchbox won't tell retroarch to load any specific configs, they have to be manually added by the user if required. That's a strange issue for sure though, I personally use a XBOX ONE controller with the wireless dongle and it works just fine when launching retroarch through launchbox. have you added any specific command to your retroarch in launchbox that could be messing with things?
  14. Thanks for these, they are much appreciated. For purely selfish reasons I would love to see ZX Spectrum tackled, there is a distinct lack of images on our database, I have a lot of games with no boxart and no clear logos, and I only have a collection of 300 best spectrum games personally.
  15. It' OK questions are fine and we can offer you help with emulators and roms, we just can't tell you where to obtain them is all. What you download yourself is no business of ours. If you have any questions after you source the items you are looking for then feel free to ask.
  16. Well I am assuming it has games like Doom and Star wars etc in it, and those are certainly not abandonware, we have to be very careful with this stuff as Launchbox is a business for the dev, so we cant be seen to be telling people where to get materials for free that are still under copyright. It's simply a legal issue.
  17. Unfortunately we can not tell you where to get copyrighted games, and I have edited your above post to remove reference to a site that contains copyrighted materials. Google is always your friend in these situations.
  18. OK, I just downloaded a fresh copy of the theme and tested with that, no real difference than mine with the slightly edited index. There is nothing in my library or the way its setup than anybody elses, its just the default ways that Launchbox sets up systems, I haven't changed anything or done anything different than what any other user would do when importing there systems.
  19. That's always been like that for me, takes a good 10 seconds usually, been like that on all versions I tested. I do have a VLC install on my system but Launchbox/Bigbox only use the one in the Launchbox folder, as far as I know that cant be changed by the user. I am not loading into any playlists when launching Bigbox its just the standard platform view. I did copy over my index files from the previous version, so i'll download a fresh copy and test on that.
  20. Thanks for looking into it. I have narrowed it down some more and it only happens when using vlc. In this video I launch bigbox while using WMP and don't get the error, I then switch to VLC and re-launch bigbox and I hit the error.
  21. lol, no probs glad you got it working correctly.
  22. If you used the defaults it should be under "Super Nintendo Entertainment System".
  23. Hi and welcome to the community. Are you running your MAME .exe as a administrator? This has been known to cause this issue before, you should not be running either Launchbox or your emulators with admin rights. Just right click your .exe and go to properties/compatibility and uncheck the run as administrator box if it is checked and see if that fixes it for you.
  24. To add here, I personally use a XBOX ONE controller on PC for all my emulation needs in combination with the official Microsoft XBOX ONE wireless dongle. I have had no issues with that ever, and it has support built directly into Windows 10 so it just works. I also like the dpad on that controller, it is far superior to the garbage one on the XBOX 360 controller. A PS4 controller could also be a good option, but it can be a bit finicky as you have to use third party software often to trick windows into thinking its a XBOX controller. If you prefer the PS4 layout you could try this Gamesir controller which is shaped like a PS4 controller but is recognised on Windows with it's included dongle as a XBOX 360 controller. I have not used the Hori Fighting Commander that @Lordmonkus mentions personally, but I have heard very good thinks about it.
