Just delete what you dont want in Windows.

Could probably create a auto populated playlist for recently played games.

Also for Spectrum (not sure about Amstrad as i dont emulate it) in the controller settings for the fuse core, set it to "Kempston" you can then use your controller for most games by bringing up the onscreen keyboard with the select button and pressing whatever key the game is asking for to start in Kempston Joystick mode.

You checked that your antivirus hasn't removed files.
-
Click on one game in a platform, then use CTRL-A to highlight them all, then head to the option under tools.
-
Check your antivirus hast removed any of the new files.

I dont believe any of that code has been touched for these betas, have you checked to see if you accidentally turned those features off? You dont state where, but both Launchbox and Bigbox have separate settings for this.
-
You would highlight all games in a platform with CTRL-A and then go to "Tools/Change Roms folder path for selected games". And yes you will have to do that for every system, but not for playlists as playlists get the path from the platform.

You import the .cue, or .gdi only, dont import bins at all.

OK, first things first, Launchbox does not officially support software lists, so there is no guidance for that as its simply not something we support. However there is a plugin in the downloads section that should help, but obviously the devs and moderators cannot provide support for a third party plugin, so use at your own risk and always backup your data first. As for the standard Arcade games, just run the fullset importer again, pointed at your new MAME.exe and your new roms folder, and uncheck all the media downloads.

Not really though, you are using a 4K screen, but telling Windows to render everything at 720p, look at how pixelated it makes text look, you may as well of just bought a large 720p screen at that point.

That is a HUGE amount of scaling, any reason why you have it so high? You are essentially running Windows at 720p with that high a scaling setting, which is quite a waste of a 4K screen. I am running my 4K screen at 150% scaling which works out at 1440p, and that works fine. And set to 200% which is 1080p, I do see the same as you at 300% 720p, but ill be honest and say it looks awful everything is so pixelated, especially text, quite a waste of a good screen if you ask me.

Have you deleted the actual beta update file from Launchbox/Updates, as it may be that that is corrupted, not your actual install.
-
There are dedicated programs that can use DAT files to check your romsets, thats not really the job of a Frontend.

Depends what you mean really, if you want to "Upscale" the graphics so that they look better on a modern display, then you would need a Graphics Card to do that, likewise if you wanted to use shaders in Retroarch that would also require a Graphics Card, older systems only use the CPU, so that has to be a fast one, but any system that is 3D really does need a Graphics Card.

OK thanks, this is why we ask for specifics, much more helpful, ill pass it on.

Game theme videos? In which case we do not provide those, they usually come from emumovies, are you sure its us and not them?

Big Box launches games incorrectly, but opens retroarch correctly
neil9000 replied to Papadon's topic in Troubleshooting
i dont have a CRT, so i cant say anything to that specifically, but it sounds like your settings for the cores you are launching are different from when you just load the UI without a core/game loaded. So i would start there, load a game in a core and check the video settings to make sure its fullscreen, and whether you are or are not using interger scaling (as i'm not sure what if anything that does on a CRT). Maybe i can bug @Lordmonkus or @Retro808for a little info as i think they have messed with Retroarch on a CRT before. -
Yeah thats why i say try the normal version, its possible that the play store version has limitations that stop other apps giving it instructions, which is what a Frontend like Launchbox is doing. Opening a rom from inside Retroarch is a very different thing than a external program telling Retroarch to start, and with a specific core, and a path to a rom file. Do other systems work, and its just NeoGeo? Also you dont have Launchbox unzipping the roms do you?

Is Retroarch plus the version on the play store? Cause that may be the issue, have you tried sideloading the Retroarch from there official site? I remember they had to change things recently due to google, so i'd try with the actual normal Retroarch from there website, as it may be a issue related to that specific version you are using.
