That would be awesome @C-Beats. Would open up a world of possibilities theme-wise, enable a more immersive experience and really make use of the available screen real estate!

Will definitely check this out. @faeran, based on your knowledge, would it be possible to make a dual-screen theme? For example, to have the system tree and games list on one screen, with the game details pane (including info, video, snapshots etc) on the other? This is something I would really like to do if possible.
  3. Looking good! I'm doing similar work on the Amstrad CPC, so know how time consuming this can be.
  4. Cool looking theme!
  5. When you say resolved...the issue persists for me. Do I need to roll back the XMLs to sort it?
  6. Lol…yes that is a potential side effect. Happy to share my templates. I wasn’t planning to do those other systems as getting it right is so time consuming. I’m using single cassette, double cassette, disk and cardboard box templates as appropriate. I’m going to look into Photoshop automation but it will still require a lot of filtering things first. I’ll PM them to you.
  7. Just noticed this issue with the latest Beta. I've updated with each Beta and have not noticed this problem before. For some platforms, any games that have line spaces between the text in the game details information (i.e. paragraphs), what were previously single lines have expanded to huge spaces of varying amounts of lines. Funnily enough it's only affected 4 out of my 25 platforms - Arcade, Windows, NES and Genesis. I can't think of anything that ties these together - I've not done anything different with these platforms. This problem has affected other users also. I made sure it was not theme-related by switching back to the default theme, but the problem persists.
  8. Packs #, A and B are now available in the downloads section.
  9. This is looking great. Any progress with a Launchbox theme creator? 😁
  10. Have you got the controls in Caprice32 working OK @capidel?
  11. Cool idea, I like it. Seems to be a bit jerky at times though - is that just your machine?
  12. I wonder about a possible bug in the current Beta. When I am scrolling through games in Launchbox (CPC in this case), the video snap sound seems to get "stuck" - in that I will scroll on to different games, but the sound from one of the previous ones keeps playing. Sound from the currently selected game video plays over the top. If I scroll back to the offending game, then the sound plays over the top of the original sound (i.e. the same sound plays twice at the same time). Even if I reduce the volume wheel in Launchbox to zero, this sound keeps playing at the same volume. After I close Launchbox, the music stops after around 10 seconds.
  13. Thanks @Jason Carr, the thread wasn’t suggestive of this and I hadn’t realised that this had happened. I will look into it!
  14. Any progress with this?
  15. Looks great - but the file is nowhere near 6GB as it says in the description?
  16. First pack released in the downloads section
  17. Many thanks spycat. More packs to follow! It's time-consuming work as each one is done separately by hand to ensure everything matches up.
  18. Amstrad CPC 464 Real 3D Box Art Project View File Amstrad CPC Real 3D Box Art Project. There are a few sources of 3D box art out there for the CPC464, though none that are as high resolution, realistic looking and true to the original as I wanted. In the absence of support for true 3D rotatable models, I decided to make this set. This set uses a real cassette template in Photoshop into which the front covers and spines are inserted. English versions used where available, though foreign games are covered too. Most 3D boxes are a "single" cassette box, though there are also double cassette boxes, disk boxes and cardboard boxes. I try and make the box art true to the original. Cassette boxes are prioritised where available. There are a very small number of games that came in boxes of anomalous sizes - I have tended to use the cardboard box template for these. The single cassette box template is of superior quality to the double and disk box templates - if anyone can find the latter 2 in higher quality, let me know, though I'm relatively happy with the ones I have. For freeware/PD/etc games, I am making "blank" cassette templates with the game name stuck to the front and spine of the cassette insert as an embossed label strip (like you could make with those old machines). The rom set used is the Gamebase CPC set, which contains 3299 games. New packs will be added here, so click follow to get updates. Any errors or missing games let me know! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updates 19 Aug 2021: Pack added (A) 24 Aug 2021: Packs # and A being reworked: double cassette case will have the feint background removed, and 3D boxes for cardboard box games will be added 27 Aug 2021: Freeware/PD/etc games will have a 3D box made - using a blank cassette insert template with the game name printed on an embossed label and stuck to the front and spine 28 Aug 2021: Packs # (75 covers) and A (242 covers) have been updated to fix the translucent background issue for double cassette and disk cases, and PD/freeware 3D boxes have been added 10 Sep 2021: Packs added (B - 219 covers) 6 Nov 2021: Packs added (C - 249 covers) 15 September 2022: Apologies for the lack of updates since...well, the last update. This work is still on my radar. It is currently on pause as the "true 3D model box" feature has made it into the Launchbox implementation list as per the most recent poll. If this works well then I would plan to convert all these boxes to proper 3D model ones. So I'm just waiting to see what it looks like. 30 November 2022: So the 3D model box feature is now working in Launchbox, with a full-screen view having been implemented. Once a good jewel cassette box type has been added to the list of templates in Launchbox, I will go ahead and convert these images to a format that can be used with the 3D models, and continue to complete the set to work with the 3D models. There will then be little need to have these static 3D boxes in addition to the 3D model boxes and I likely won't complete the static set - but if anyone is interested in continuing this work with the static images, I'd be happy to share the resources. Hopefully this will come soon.
  20. Nicely done. May I suggest adding a "sheen" effect to the covers to make the boxes look more realistic? The edges of the case look fairly good but the cover art looks kind of stuck on.
  21. @Djronz - I resumed work on this project a few weeks ago. The project expanded into a complete Launchbox Amstrad CPC setup with extended metadata, game videos, game title & gameplay screenshots, manuals, tape/disc scans and of course front, expanded and 3D box art. It is based on the latest Gamebase CPC collection which has been imported into Launchbox with the help of @JoeViking245, which is around 3300 games. The box art is a combination of single cassette cases, double cassette cases, disk cases and cardboard boxes ("big box" art). Everything has been done; I've just got the 3D boxes to finish working through. @CMOSS, don't know if you were still interested in this.
  22. I downloaded the separate magazines module and copied the magazines across into \C64 Dreams\Magazines. The launchbox links point to the web versions though. Is there a way to install the magazines properly?
  23. hi Faeran, the platform is already called "Nintendo Game Boy". In the data/platforms folder there is Nintendo Game Boy.xml.
  24. Tried this with Gameboy, but it stretches all the square box art to a rectangular shape. Is there any way to get it to respect the original box art dimensions?
  25. It works perfectly, thanks! Really useful tool.
