  1. Version 1.0

    818 downloads

Here's a first attempt at a 2D Box Front image pack. I used the new Image Pack Creator tool in LaunchBox 12.12 to pack these up, so it should work well to import them into LaunchBox. I'm hoping these cover the vast majority of the games that could be in your library. The pack is North America first, with coverage for some European games (and possibly a few Japanese games). I did not create these images, but I heavily up-scaled and treated each one. I'm pretty sure the base pack that I started with was by WallyWonka, so big thanks to him. All images were up-scaled, slightly cleaned, sharpened, and then set at a resolution of 850x850 and saved out as jpgs. The goal here for me, was to figure out a quick way to create for myself a good quality, consistent, pack that was better than what was already out there. As I keep learning about different bulk tools to treat images, the better the results will get (if anyone knows of any good programs for this, I would love to hear about it). Then I can transfer that knowledge to other systems with the hope of being able to apply it to all the platforms in my library.
  2. Sounds like you want to make it so when you enter into a game details page, you see a screenshot of the game instead of it playing a video. You can do this, but it would require that you edit the theme you are using. Custom themes are created by community members, and if you are wanting to change the intended behavior of them, you would have to dive into the custom theme's code and replace the necessary parts to do what you want it to do. In your case, you would have to dive into the TextGamesView.xaml file and replace the code that deals with playing videos with screenshot images.
  3. This is not currently planned for this release, but maybe something like that could be considered in the future.
  4. Beta 5 has been released with the following changes: Improvement: Added item counts to the tab headers of the image pack import wizard Improvement: The Enable Game Controllers option in Big Box is now on by default Fixed: Image pack title matching for extremely short file names should now be more accurate
  5. My first thought is that you may need to enable the controller within Big Box. In Big Box go into Options > Controllers. Enable controllers and either choose to enable all your controllers, or choose your controller from your available options.
  6. Beta 4 is out with image pack support: New Feature: Image packs can now be both created and imported via Tools > Image Packs. This should make it much easier to custom curate the media for your collection using the awesome packs that are available on the LaunchBox Community Forums (and to create your own packs!) Help testing this new feature is much appreciated.
  7. Every custom theme is different. The author of the theme decides how they want to incorporate elements into it, so it's always a good idea to make a comment on the theme's file page and ask there. However, looking at this particular theme, it looks like it uses a Scaneline.png file located inside of BarTop\Images\Theme I would assume if you remove that file, the scanline would no longer appear.
  8. The place on these forums for users to share this type of media would be the playlist media subsections within the downloads area. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/22-playlists-playlist-media/
  9. There are some orientation triggers that will determine where elements get placed in the grid when in portrait mode. Looks like you would need to adjust these. Possibly add one to make the bottom container span 2 columns.
  10. Maybe one day. I won't have a chance to do this anytime soon, so if someone wants to give it a try, that's okay with me.
  11. Hi @The Hillarican. Sega CD requires a bios file to work. Did you remember to add it to RetroArch?
  12. I recently checked Redream and it does work inside of LaunchBox for Android already, but you must first add your game folder inside of Redream and then go into your Android settings and give redream the file permission called "Allow management of all files".
  13. A black screen in RetroArch usually means you have some kind of mismatch between your settings in LaunchBox for Android and what RetroArch is tring to do with them. Focus on one platform that isn't working, like NES, and make sure: You have imported your NES games properly - you can edit the metadata of any game and see the file path, and make sure it's correct. You have the correct emulator & core selected in LaunchBox - it may be worthwhile for you to download a number of different NES cores in RetroArch, then in LaunchBox, under the NES Emulator settings, make sure you've chosen RetroArch (64-bit sideloaded), and try a few different cores out and see if you notice any difference between them (Make sure while you are doing the above, that you close RetroArch down completely (from the app switcher) before trying to launch a game) Another reason you can see the black screen is if you are missing any dependencies inside of RetroArch, like a bios file, but in your case, this doesn't seem to be the case.
  14. Does this emulator have an official website or github?
  15. Did you make sure, after exiting LaunchBox for Android, that you opened the Android app switcher and closed LaunchBox from there? Just closing back to the home screen, and opening LaunchBox back up is probably not enough to trigger the prompt. Other than that, the only other reason I've heard of that the prompt wouldn't show up is a bad internet connection.
  16. You can start here with the CTC: The RetroMag Community Theme Creator files should be one of the download links when you download the theme from the forums here.
  17. Beta 3 is now out with the following: New Feature: LaunchBox can now downloaded bezels for both MAME and RetroArch, during import and media downloads (courtesy of the Bezel Project) Improvement: FlowContext now has new properties that allow you to rotate the item (for Big Box theme developers) Improvement: FlowContext now has new properties that you can use for styling based on where the item is in relation to the selected item (for Big Box theme developers) Improvement: The Export to Android process now works with games that have multiple discs Improvement: The Export to Android process now resizes any overly large images to a maximum of 2000x2000 pixels Improvement: The Export to Android process now includes an option to only export favorited games for specific platforms Improvement: The Export to Android process now includes an option to extract archives Improvement: The Tools > File Management > Export/Copy ROM Files from Selected Games to New Folder feature will now copy all discs for the selected games (if there are multiple discs) Fixed: Browsing for an application path in Add/Edit Additional apps now takes you to the games folder if no path is set Fixed: In LaunchBox, while in a game detail's pop-up window, viewing a game's images in full screen would show images for an incorrect game.
  18. Thanks @thomsi. Tbh, I'm not entirely sure what it would take to convert it. It's probably a bit of work. You could always download the CTC files, load it up in the CTC and give it a shot
  19. It will update both the program and its cores to the latest stable version.
  20. I haven't ported this theme to the CTC yet, although the CTC is getting close to be able to support a theme like this, so I may circle back and spend time to do this in the future.
  21. Right click a game, go into Edit > Edit Metadata/Media. On the left side, with all the sections, it's under Metadata > Sort Title
  22. I haven't heavily looked into this, but one would think that a game that has a colon in it wouldn't always be the first in a game series, so if you were to change a global setting of some kind, you would end up messing with the order of other series. So, while not the answer you were looking for (since you said it would take too much time), LaunchBox does have a special field called the Sort Title, for every game, which can change the position of a game in your list, without needing to alter the game's name. You can find this if you edit any game, and go into the Sort Title section.
  23. You would go into the Unified theme files, and find the Views folder, which should be located in the following path: LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Views In there, you'll see a bunch of xaml files that you can open in your favorite text editor. You'll want to find the file that correlates to the news you want to change and open that (eg. if you use Vertical Wheel 1 for your game view, you'll want to open WheelGamesView.xaml). Then you make the changes that you want. The code is in WPF, so you'll need to know at least a bit to make changes.
  24. Now that I have a clearer head, I'm pretty sure I never officially released the CTC BannerBox files because I didn't actually build the whole thing inside of the CTC (it's currently not possible yet). Maybe I'm remembering that wrong though, but if I'm not, it's actually not possible to load this theme into the CTC yet. Not until CTC 2.4 is released.
  25. It's possible that you didn't unblock the CTC zip file that you downloaded before unzipping it. Use your original download (or download it again), right click the zip file, go into properties, and unblock it. Then extract it to a new location and move the BannerBox CTC files into it. See if that helps. If you publish a theme correctly from the CTC, it's designed to never show errors like that in Big Box.
