It is not going to work if you do not have data in the fields you mention in your post. The "rom file (emulation is enabled)" is the path to the specific rom file. The "Use as an Emulator" box needs to be ticked to tell Launchbox to use an emulator to launch to rom file. It really would be helpful if you posted pics as Lordmonkus mentioned. It just makes it easier to diagnose.

The "News" page of the site shows nothing on Firefox
Retro808 replied to Tromzy's topic in Website/Forum Support
Not sure. Just checked on pc, laptop, and a Mac and page works fine on all 3 in FireFox. Try a simple cache and cookies clear. Can you view news on other browsers. I have been using Vivaldi which is a good alternative to FireFox based off a recommendation from a few mods/members here. -

Some more info would be helpuful. What system/emulator in particular? Does it do this if you launch the game direct in the emulator outside of BigBox?
-
You need a code from Zen Studios that enables cabinet support in order to launch direct into individual tables.

Are you talking about the startup sound from a .wav file in the sounds folder or the audio from a startup video? If from the .wav file have you tried a different sound file? If you play the sound file outside of BigBox does it stutter also? You can download different sound files to use in BigBox. The stock ones work fine on each of my machines. If it is the audio from a startup video file have you tried switching video from VLC to Windows Media or vice versa?

Launchbox doesn’t match the chd files that is all done directly by Mame. Typically the chd files go in the same folder as your Mame roms and are placed in a subfolder named after each rom the chd is for. Example: Killer Instinct - rom name kinst.zip The chd (kinst.chd) goes in the folder called kinst where the kinst.zip is located. See example folder structure below \roms\kinst.zip \roms\kinst\kinst.chd As a side note: you can actually place the chd files anywhere you want, you just have to specifiy the location in the mame.ini. The process above is the usual way of doing it.

Are there any config files saved in that folder even for other cores? Also do you have save configuration on exit turned on in settings?
-
Definitely and odd scenario. Can you share pics of your launchbox and BigBox with the platform names? If you change themes does it still not show those platforms? Unlikely it is a theme issue, but just curious. Stranger things happen.

Are they showing in Launchbox?
-
What view are you using in BigBox? Platform, Platform Category, etc... Also do you have games actually loaded for those platforms not showing? Any platform you create will not show if you do not have games in it.

When you say the UI will load do you mean the UI for mame.exe or are you saying MameUI.exe will load? Just asking to clarify as in a later post it sounds like you are saying only MameUI.exe will load. Are you using onboard graphics or dedicated graphics card? Wondering if maybe the video option got altered. I had that happen, I somehow changed to d3d and the laptop I had mame on did not support it. So it would not launch.

Thanks @Lordmonkus You keep the google drive updated with these right? Your covers are kind of getting a bit lost this thread.

Depending on how you turn on the SF30 Pro it can alter the button layout. Starting it holding X (blue) and start turns it on in X-input mode and will reverse the A and B. Starting it holding B (yellow) and start will turn it on in SF30 Pro standard SNES/NES layout and the A and B will be as you are used to. In the manual this shows as Android mode, but it does keep the A/B as normal. Depending on how you started it the first time you set it up the controller will remember the last setting if you just hold start to turn on it each time after.

Not in Pinball FX3. The code is what will allow cabinet mode in PinballFX3 which lets individual tables get launched. In Pinball FX2 it was possible as there was an older version that it could be done with. However, an udpated version of Pinball FX2 that got released did require a code.

Cannonball Outrun Retroarch and Launchbox Quick Guide
Retro808 replied to Lordmonkus's topic in Emulation
Confirming @bearman post helped me getting this working. Thanks for posting. -
The developer still has the demo up on his site. He said Konami allowed him to keep what he had up but further development had to cease. So yeah definitely someone would have to make any game box images and the like.

Blank space in game details box after video deleted
Retro808 replied to Retrofrogg's topic in Beta Testing
Are you able to replicate it each time you delete a video or is it random? If you can replicate it frequently and LB is open see if it happens if it is closed. As I mentioned I get something similar but only when adding a video and it is very random. Maybe 1 in 20 or more tries. -
Blank space in game details box after video deleted
Retro808 replied to Retrofrogg's topic in Beta Testing
Was LB opened or closed when you deleted? I just tested (with LB opened and closed) a few videos on two machines one running latest beta the other on stable and had no issues. I have had issues adding a video and getting the black box instead of the video playing, but usually closing the detail panel and reopening fixed it. -

Is this in Launchbox, LaunchboxNext, both? If you close the details panel and then reopen it does it still show the black box? -
I have that same......ahem...version of FX3 and I have it set up on one machine through RL and on another straight through Launchbox. So exiting works with that AHK and button combos set-up.
