Launchbox does not import all MAME ROMs

Yeah that's pretty crazy, but it doesn't ruin LB for me. Sometimes I add a system and then "scan" for metadata and media again afterwards, multiple times and every time it adds more even though it is within a time-frame of less than a few hours. Oh well, 'tis the way it is.

Agreed, doesnt ruin experience at all. Im using the .198 set as well. I think personally what im going to do is continue updating my rom set as needed. However I wont be updating it inside LB until this issue is resolved/looked at with some more light shed on it.

There is a "Mame Overhaul" planned for Launchbox, it was the #2 item on the last poll so it should see some attention in the near future once the work on LB Next is complete (which it's very close to being done).

Great thanks for actually listening to user feedback.  I am using EmuLoader as it imports every working game but I prefer to use MAME in Launchbox.

Just updated my rom set to ver 0.200 (from 0.185) and there are a ton of games Launchbox doesn't import. I was comparing it with the latest Hyperspin database and so far I have around 26 games and I only got up to letter "C". That's exluding all the weird casino, fruit games and so on. Been trying to add them manually but takes forever to import each single game.

Yeah, this is a known issue. Jason will be back to working on items from the last community poll once LaunchBox Next is done. I'd imagine he'll be working on MAME stuff soon enough.

I'm confused you want LB to support your hardware switching between 4 and 8 way mode. If its done by a script or bat then you can probably already do it using the additional apps feature in LB.

There's an option named joystick_contradictory in the mame.ini

 

Not sure if enabling that for specific games is the result you're after.

ok i doubt joystick_contradictory is what i need at all.

Enable contradictory direction digital joystick input at the same time such as Left and Right or Up and Down at the same time. The default is OFF (-nojoystick_contradictory)  so no dice. but thx any ways.

Really enjoying Launchbox Next and I would like to have all my MAME roms to show up in Launchbox.  I don't like EmuLauncher.  It is a PITA to configue, easy to corrupt and quite often crashes when I quit the program.  If I am quitting no need to crash.  However it does import all my roms unlike Launchbox.
