  1. Switching to WMP worked, but I can't click the video to pause playback anymore. It still shouldn't be happening with VLC though.
  2. I'm having an issue with 7.14 where anytime I click on a game with a .webm video (the format that Launchbox downloads from Steam) Launchbox immediately crashes. Anyone else having this issue?
  3. I've been pulling the images from Mobygames myself (thankfully they stopped watermarking them), how do you get the original high quality images? The images I get from them typically top out at around 800 by 1100 or so, which isn't bad, but its frustrating when they mention the much higher resolution of the original scan.
  4. @eXo for what it's worth, I've been going through every game in the eXoDOS collection and adding them/cleaning up the existing entries in the gamesdb as needed. I'm nearly done with the "E"s, it's a long process and there are a lot of games. Your eXoDOS collection is the reason I got back into emulation and then LaunchBox, so I figured this is the least I could do.
  5. This thread shouldn't be in the LaunchBox Games Database forum. Can it please be moved?
  6. FUCK CHAVEZ. I'M SO SICK OF THAT GAME
  7. The database has slowed down a fair amount. Not a big deal, but inconvenient. Accountability for repeated bad submissions. We need a system whereby we can hold people accountable for submitting too many bad entries. I've had to delete the game "Chavez" so, so many times. On the flip side, accountability for bad moderation. I've seen a fair number of games get approved that should never, ever have been. Moderators need to be able to leave comments on submissions they've moderated, that the next person in the queue can see. I.e. If someone tries to submit the game "Chavez" yet again, I could leave a note to the next moderator explaining that the game should be rejected, as it's a regional version of Riddick Rowe Boxing. A dark theme would be nice, the pure white background is murder on my eyes late at night. I'd appreciate an option in my account settings to be able to turn off the Bible quotes at the bottom. I respect Jason's beliefs, and I know they've helped him out a lot, but I find the quotes distracting and (a bit) unprofessional. I've had to make a custom AdBlock filter to disable them. For games where there's not a Box - Front, have the thumbnail for the game be something like a Screenshot - Game Title, just so there's artwork instead of a blank space. Makes it all flow nicely. A platform for Win 3.x would be appreciated (and it wouldn't be difficult to do, MobyGames has one.) Add Genres like Educational and Board/Party Game. This one seems odd, but I've been thinking that I wouldn't mind a couple unobtrusive ads on the page if it would help bring in some revenue for the hosting of the database. Finalize the guidelines, and post them somewhere less hidden than a Google Document owned by a former staff member. We need people to see it, and easily. There are too many DOS games. Oh God, there are so many. Why did I decide to do all the DOS games. I'm barely at the C's. Oh God what have I done. Send me a pizza. Alex Edit: 1. Resolved 2. See issue # 179 3. See issue # 179 4. See issue # 344 5. See issue # 217 6. Already discussed with Jason. Non-negotiable. 7. See issue # 161 8. See issue # 304 9. See issues # 279, 301, 114 10. Will advise once discussed. Opened issue 346 to track public opinion. 11. Guidelines patially implemented. Created issue # 347 to track progress. Priority for this item is high. 12. Oh god why, you poor man. 13. I only have leftovers, but they're still good. Want 'em?
  8. Good to hear everything's okay, I was getting a bit worried...
  9. I like the idea, you should submit a ticket to the bitbucket.
  10. I just had a similar issue with AutoDuel for DOS downloading a bunch of watermarked images that I'd replaced months ago, instead of the images currently available. Hope this can get fixed soon, I'm trying to go through the DOS section and give it a good tidying in anticipation of eXoDOS 3.0's Launchbox integration.
  11. And I'm very grateful you are, I was just giving my opinion on the category as a whole. Personally, I prefer to catalog official art for the games.
  12. To be honest, I find the whole "fanart background" to be the least interesting image category, and I usually ignore it altogether.
  13. The accent should be there. Launchbox supports alternate names now, there's no reason for us to have the altered name be the primary. I wish we could lock the names of that series once and for all. @Vlansix, is such a thing possible?
  14. During his live developer stream the week after it happened. Brad was brought up, and that was how he responded.
  15. @Jason Carr I really need you to clear the air about what happened. A bunch of us are feeling really upset by this, and you haven't said much. Brad was too important for that to be okay. You mentioned that he had "radical views" that Launchbox can't stand behind. What does that mean?
  16. Oh wow, okay. Good luck...
  17. Yeah I've been having issues with it again. Hope everything's alright.
  18. Worked great! Any chance you could make a version for the Win3xO Collection? Should be a very similar process, I'd think.
  19. Ha! I appreciate it. Honestly, even the act of me saying I'm stepping back has made me want to contribute more again, so I might have been overreacting a bit. I don't know. I just wish @Jason Carr would really set the record straight. I'll probably keep contributing stuff here and there, but maybe I won't moderate as much, just because it does tend to drive you mad after a while. The DOS section could use a bit of work, and I never did finish the damn WiiWare games...
  20. Yeah I didn't mean to suggest anything malicious, so let's not get any rumors started.
  21. No, as far as I know (and I don't know much), nothing has been said about a price increase of any kind. It's more about certain decisions that have been made.
  22. Well personally I've decided to take a break from it for a while. This is due in part to being sick of moderating the same changes back and forth, over and over; but another part of it is that I'm very disheartened by what happened to @SentaiBrad, and the 2 different versions of the story I'm hearing. I've been a little concerned about the direction LaunchBox is going for a while, and Brad getting fired has made me question whether I want to keep contributing. I appreciate tremendously everything @Vlansix has been doing for the database, and look forward to seeing what changes get made, but I need to step back for a while. Maybe in a month or two I'll come back to it, maybe not, but I need to put my focus somewhere where I feel I belong a bit more.
