  1. There is no simple answer here, it all depends on the emulator and compression type on how it will impact things. Some compression types will cause longer load times while others will not and some emulators can read the compressed images perfectly fine with no impact on load times while some emulators will not work with a compressed image. You will just have to read up on the emulator and compression used for its games and how it will impact things.
  2. You can try the the Retroarch Stella core if you like but that is based on a much older code which is fine for the all of the old commercial games but some of the newer more advanced homebrews will not work with it. Stand alone Stella works perfectly fine for me so just for shits and giggles just try this, select all your 2600 games in Launchbox and press Control + E on your keyboard to bring up the bulk edit tool. In the dropdown menu pick emulator and then in the 2nd dropdown menu that appears pick your Stella emulator and finish out the bulk edit tool. Here are a couple of screenshots of my Edit Emulator window for Stella in LB. Double check that your Atari 2600 platform name in LB matches the name in the Associated Platform window.
  3. Is your mame.ini file in the main folder where the mame executable is or is it in the \ini folder ? If it's in the \ini folder move it out to the main folder where the mame executable is. As for your error code I did quick google search and found this http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=130463.0
  4. Launchbox has nothing to do with your in emulator controls.
  5. Yeah, it was an important bug fix that needed to get to people who normally don't touch betas.
  6. I think the vast majority of people either use the digital pad or an arcade stick.
  7. Too busy doing Hong Kong 98 lol.
  8. Some upcoming MSU releases.
  9. Check your recycle bin for the exe or redownload the latest installer and reinstall over top of the old folder. Just be careful you don't install in Launchbox\Launchbox, that will make your old stuff not work.
  10. You can close that gap by using the Aspect slider but that will make the images bigger and you can offset that a by moving the scale slider at the bottom of Launchbox. How it all looks though will depend on the system and the boxes aspect ratio, so what looks good with one platform may not look exactly how you like with another.
  11. Updated the main post to address the latest happenings with rom sites such as EmuParadise and IsoZone.
  12. Yeah, I know what ETA said but the license bug was pretty big and required an official release rather than expect new customers to update to a beta. Circumstances change.
  13. This 8.5 was a quick bug fix release and not the bigger one it was intended to be before.
  14. No problem. I wish I had an explanation for why this is necessary and why Mame won't read the mame.ini file from the \ini folder when launched using the command via LB.
  15. Move your mame.ini file from your mame\ini folder to the mame folder where your mame executable is.
  16. Version 8.5 - Released August 15, 2018 - Improvement: The minimum box size and maximum aspect ratio options in LaunchBox.Next have been expanded to allow for Steam Banners with minimal borders - Fixed: The Play Count and Last Played fields were not updating when launching games via a double-click in LaunchBox.Next - Fixed: Applying a License.xml file was showing an irrelevant error in LaunchBox.Next
  17. People do all sorts of shady internet trickery when money is involved.
  18. Not that im aware of other than to restart LB every day and run the importer or rescrape a game and it will update the DB in LB.
  19. LB downloads the updated database every 24 hours so depending on when it was accepted and added to the update and when you scraped it you may have been inside that window.
  20. You can just drag and select highlight all the fields in the audit window and then copy paste it into a speadsheet.
