  1. Don't use the fullset importer, thats, as the name implies, is only for fullsets. Just import them as normal roms, making sure on the last page of the wizard to check the box to use MAME metadata, that will then give you the MAME filters screen as well if you want to make playlists.
  2. You can have multiple instances on your PC, but you cant actually run more than one at a time.
  3. Yes we know the reasons for this, and if you had of searched these forums you would of found many posts on the same issue. It is due to the way the Emumovies API works, in that if we dont hit it for a piece of media within 15 minutes, all the URL's we got at the start of the process are deleted, so when we get to downloading media from them, the URL's have expired so you get a 404 error returned. They are working on there API in hopes of fixing this, but we can only use the tools we are are provided with, and it is how it is currently. There are some workarounds in the current beta if you are not running that that may help to alleviate the problems, also dont do your entire collection in one go, as that may mean hours to get to a specific system, by which time those URL's will no longer work, so go platform by platform.
  4. Strange, i would say its unrelated to the controller, or maybe a faulty controller or bluetooth adapter? I have the same controller and use it on my PC all the time with actual PC games as well as all of my emulators, and i exclusively use it in xinput mode. Do you have another PC you can test the controller on to see if it also happens there?
  5. The MAME fullset importer requires a matching standalone version of MAME emulator for the import as we get the working games list from the emulator itself. As @Lordmonkus said though, mame2003 is a completely unofficial version of mame, and therefore does not have a standalone emulator for that exact game list that mame2003 contains. You can import the way that was in the reply though, just make sure that on the last page of the wizard you check the box that says something like "import using mame shortnames for emulators other than mame that use mame naming" I would also recommend pointing Launchbox at a actual mame emulator during the import, that will make sure you get the filters screen, and just highlight all the games once imported and change the emulator in bulk.
  6. The "Category" it is under is completely up to you, nothing is forced.
  7. I just add them as a lower option in "Box - Front" but you could add them as the top option, and any system that doesnt use Steam Banners will simply move on to the next image type in your priorities.
  8. You dont need to delete it, i just wanted to make sure you were not pointing to Retroarch instead of actual MAME during the import wizard.
  9. Are you using actual MAME and not Retroarch when in the import wizard? Cause as i said i have seen very similar errors before when people were trying to import with Retroarch set as the emulator, and that will now work. Also it could be related to other things in your mame.ini.
  10. Also, if you actually preferred the original version being launched, you could of just renamed the MP4 to match it.
  11. You can't in normal MAME it's just what they do. You will need a specific "No Nag" version of MAME compiled from the source code by someone external to the MAME team, we have recent ones in the download section, created and uploaded by user @MadK9. 12. Did you actually look at your image priorities? I explained what i think the issue may be, you then quoted my post rambling about imports and not saying if you even looked at what i pointed you to. Might be nice when asking for help to acknowledge if you tried the help you received.
  13. What image type do you have set for your Arcade platform? If it's "Box - Front" then yeah, nothing will show, big Arcade cabinets didn't come in game box's obviously, in this case you would want "Advertisement Flyer - Front" or "Box 3D" as 3D boxes were created out of the flyers. Take a look at your image priority's in Tools/Options and check/uncheck and re-order to your liking.
  14. Ok a couple of points here, the error when importing MAME is i believe related to not actually using MAME standalone as the emulator when running the wizard. The NstDatabase file is a Nestopia related file, and shouldn't be anywhere near your Launchbox data.
  15. If this is for MAME which it sounds like it is, all other versions are in the "Associated Apps" section of the game edit window, you can click on any other version and then click the "Make Default" button to launch that version as the default rom.
  16. Well that is basically what creating your own build is, put roms somewhere, tell Launchbox that location and what platform they are for, and let Launchbox take care of importing them and downloading metadata/media for them, it really is very straight forward. The problem with a pre-built build without roms is the naming, unless every single one of your roms is named EXACTLY the same as the person's who set it up, then you are gonna have a ton of names that do not match and therefore do not run. Also you would likely have a ton of systems showing, and with games in them, that you simply dont have roms for, so again, wont launch. It really isnt feasible at all.
  17. Because downloading roms you do not have the rights to is hugely illegal, and people selling actual builds with roms is even more illegal, that is literally risking prison time. As a legitimate business we do not condone or endorse any builds you find online, they are not associated with us in any way, and we will not offer support for them in any way. I also edited your post to remove the link to someone illegally selling our software and roms.
  18. I should note, what i said about simply just running the importer again and not needing to delete the platform first, that ONLY applies to the MAME fullset import wizard, that specific wizard is different to everything else, for every other system you would delete first and then import.
  19. You didnt need to delete first, thats why i just said to run the importer again, it would of resulted in the same outcome. Launchbox by default does not delete your roms when you delete them from Launchbox, there is a setting that you can turn on that WILL do that, but even then it will warn you first, all you are doing when deleting a game from launchbox is removing a line or two from the data file for that platform so that that game is no longer listed. Glad you are all sorted though.
  20. There is no banner for that system as yet i believe is it there just without the artwork?
  21. Launchbox works with any romset type. Just run the mame fullset importer again, and make sure you use the 0.235 version of the emulator, and uncheck downloading any media as you already have it all.
  22. What you want is simply not feasible. Every emulator has a different update method, and every emulator has its own website where you download from. Automating that would me a mammoth task, that will quite likely immediately break when the URL of the websites change. Retroarch is actually very simple and your best bet here for waht you want.
  23. Highlight all the games you want to update, and go to Tools/Update metadata/media wizard.
  24. Also to add, if you hadnt set that default.cfg to read only, MAME deletes the config if you start it without a controller turned on, so that is what was happening there.
