  2. You can type anything you like into the dropdown box you are not limited to what is there already. Enter the emulator name and point to the .exe, exactly the same as you did for mame except typing Duckstation rather than picking it from the list. Then click the "Associated Platform" tab on that same window and enter the Platform name that the emulator is to be used for, in this case Sony Playstation or whatever you called it when you imported your roms, job done. This has been described and shown in images in this thread several times, maybe you should actually read the posts rather than doggedly sticking to your completely incorrect stance on this. Adding emulators is easy and described in this thread several times.
  3. This is why i asked you filetypes, its important, you neglected to mention .txt, but i see you have edited it in after initially just saying zip, so naturally that is what i tested. I know some file types are ignored when importing from a folder ( as not to import a bunch of unrelated shit like images and icons and such) i wouldnt be surprised if text files were also skipped for that reason. i'd have to check on that though.
  4. Because all info is in brackets so is skipped, just like (USA) or (Proto) are skipped here also. Remove the brackets from (Kind Words) and the title Kind Words will show in your import screen.
  5. What platform and what file type? Is it for a platform already imported? What happens if you check the box to force import duplicates? Details are key if you want a perceived issue fixed.
  6. I believe Service pack 2 is required for it. Also Windows 7 is end of life and no longer supported by Microsoft, so i would suggest upgrading your OS if you are concerned about your security in any way.
  7. The quick menu shows options related to the core or game loaded at that time, hence it is not available at all without something loaded inside of retroarch.
  8. Yes, you need premium emumovies to download videos, and you need premium Launchbox to actually display them.
  9. Have you hidden your PC name there? And you only have 1 sound device?
  10. That. Also if your MAME set has those systems, its a "software list set" which is not arcade games.
  11. MAME sets contain arcade systems mostly, If you have a set that barely works and also contains snes games its not a actual MAME romset.

    Delicate issue

Correct, its a Windows issue. there are sort of solutions if you google them.
  13. Man that would bug me no end having that many of the same logos, thank Jeebus for the combine feature.
  14. Use google, you will get no help on these forums for obtaining roms.
  15. You can specify folders for any media type in Tools/Manage Platforms/Name Of Platform/Folders tab. However this has to be done manually one by one for every folder for every platform, and all that is happening is you are redirecting to a different folder. Launchbox itself does not rename folders in this way though, i mean in this case folders are renamed to a name that Launchbox itself doesnt understand as a valid image type name, so why or even how it could ever do that in the first place i do not know. That is why i said in my original reply that you have something strange going on, something possibly not at all related to Launchbox itself. Are you using any other softwares or plugins that interact with Launchbox in any way that could be causing this issue?

    Apk

Yes, thanks for commenting, i have now removed that link.
  17. Nothing has been changed here from Launchbox, Box - Front is still the name of the folder. You have something stranger happening.
  18. You will not get any help with downloading roms from these forums, try google.
  19. Are your controllers seen in Windows as xinput/dinput or keyboards?
  20. If the game you are loading is using a launcher like steam/uplay/battlenet etc, Launchbox may be seeing the launcher open and close and assume that was in fact the game itself, hence the script exiting before the game even loaded. There are much better ways around this than what you are currently doing. By far the easiest is by spending about £2 on steam and getting controller companion, this allows you to map any keyboard and mouse controls to a controller and these profiles you can attach to .exe's, so start a game profile is automatically launched, exit game profile switches off. It also has steam workshop support, so likely that profiles for specific games are already available for download directly rather than creating your own from scratch. Edit: It also supports x360ce which is available to download from within controller companion.
  21. If a game runs through Launchbox it will also run directly through MAME itself, if a game does not work directly in the emulator it will NEVER work from launchbox either, Launchbox does nothing more than tell MAME the filename to run. You say you have randomly acquired roms from around the net, that's not a good start at all, MAME is versioned for a very important reason, and roms from one version are only ever guaranteed to work with that version of the emulator, they may work on other versions, but are only guaranteed for one specific emulator version. You say you updated from 0.205 to 0.229, are these the roms or the emulator itself, or both? Again you cant really say update the roms to 0.229, but still use the 0.205 version of the emulator, for the reasons already stated above, also how did you update to 0.229, did you use CLRMamePro or similar rom manager? If you just copy/pasted new files to the old folder that would likely break more games than it updated, you cant update that way. Then there are other things to take into account, when you are downloading roms are they the "Non Merged" versions, because they will have to be if getting random roms, if they are in fact "Merged" or "Split" versions they very likely are missing files and will never work as some of the files needed to run the game will in fact be in a completely different games zip file, this why a split or merged set are smaller than a non merged, they only have a file say 50 different games all use in one of the zips in order to save space, a Non Merged set every game has all needed files, so can be used by themselves, but you end up with a romset closer to 130GB instead of 65GB due to thousands and thousands of duplicated files. Long story short, getting random roms like this is a recipe for disaster, just get a fullset and the matching version of the emulator and everything will then "just work". A merged or split fullset is only around 65GB, which is pretty small considering how cheap storage is these days.
  22. No videos are available through there API, which is what we use without a premium sub. On their website the low quality videos are free but must be downloaded one by one. To get any videos in Launchbox you need both Launchbox and Emumovie premium subscriptions.
  23. You need to add a script in Launchbox, Manage Emultors/Mame/Exit Autohotkey Script tab. As for the actual script i dont know, but it should be easily enough to google.
  24. If you have changed what the exit is in mame then you need to also change it in Launchbox. Launchbox will be sending the default of Escape, so if you changed it to something else that is your issue.
