  1. You cant, it has to be the official standalone MAME version from the mamedev website.

    BannerBox

If it did it should be reported in the beta thread. Also, betas will break things, the whole point is to iron out the issues before a public release, so as with any software, update to beta at your own risk.
  3. Like i said, you do not import the CHD's, just the split or merged romset, that is all. Just point MAME itself at the other files like CHD's, bios files are included in the romset, so you dont need a actual bios set. Re-reading your original post though, you say your CHD romset is 2,3TB, that isnt the CHD romset for arcade games, thats the software list CHD set, that has console and computer games, and is nothing to do with the arcade CHD set, which is around 550GB not 2.3TB. So if we are just talking arcade games here you downloaded the wrong CHD set, you have the software list set, not the arcade set.
  4. Neither is better, use whichever you like. Launchbox doesnt need or do anything with those files at all, as long as you tell your MAME emulator there location that is all that is needed (same with your actual roms as well, MAME must know the location or they wont load from Launchbox).

    Cant get boxart

Thats what i said in my reply, if you left the settings at default you would have around 2800 games imported, the fact that you say you have 8000 means you changed some of the settings, so i have no idea what you have imported, but likely non working games and bios files, which are simply not in our database.

There are only around 2800 different working games, the rest are clones of those. Did you use the fullset importer? Sounds like if you did you changed settings, what did you change? Could just be you imported thousands of roms that dont work, and therefore have no database ID or media.
  7. Yes. If you dont have a matching associated platform, then Launchbox has no idea that the core you have chosen is for that system, as, as far as Launchbox is concerned they don't match so are therefore different systems. It has nothing to do with file type, you just cant call a platform something different and expect Launchbox to know they are the same.
  8. You need to add systems to the associated platform tab for your mame emulator. Why you would want to complicate matters by using MAME for that system is more curious though?
  9. You are right, Launchbox doesnt need to know the format, and thats why it doesnt. Launchbox will accept absolutely any filetype you throw at it, as long as the emulator accepts that format, and it can be loaded via command-line it will work. That error in your image is actually coming from Dolphin, not Launchbox.
  10. If i had to guess id say that dosbox is switching to a resolution either the steamlink or your TV/Monitor doesnt accept. My guess would be its a Steamlink issue rather than a dosbox or Bigbox one. Beyond that i cant help as i dont use dosbox or the steamlink.
  11. I would always recommend leaving that option off, so that you dont mess something up and it automatically saves. Simply go to Configuration, in the first menu and "save current configuration" whenever you want to save.
  12. Then you are using a old version of Retroarch as the view above is now the default. You can change it in Settings/Drivers/Menu, it's called ozone.
  13. Music comes from emumovies, so you would have to let them know, there is nothing we can do i'm afraid.
  14. Tell MAME the path, then forget about them. Your overthinking this.
  15. Yeah, a lot of work for no reason when a user can simply unzip Retroarch anywhere on there PC and direct Launchbox at it, no need to spend that time and money on re-inventing the wheel.
  16. You would lose those as that is handled by Retroarch, not the libretro cores directly.
  17. If it had slowdown on original hardware it will still have slowdown in emulation, unless you use hacks and such to improve it if the emulator even has those features. Most emulators strive to recreate the original hardware as accurately as possible, so if the original game slowed down and it still does in emulation that means the emulator is doing a accurate job of emulation.
  18. The database is English only.
  19. I have all my roms on a 5400rpm drive, and Launchbox on the ssd, roms dont benefit from being on a ssd at all.
  20. Also, all but the very earliest models have bluetooth as well, so depending on when yours was bought it may have that, mine is the OG so needs a dongle, but any bought in the last five or six years should have bluetooth also.
  21. Please dont spam with three separate posts to the same thread. I have deleted the top two.
  22. If this was actually a bug we would have thousands of people screaming at us about it, but we don't, you are the only person i have seen with this issue. I myself have seven platforms where i am not using the default naming, (most of these are PC platforms that default to "Windows" but i have renamed to Steam, Origin, Ubisoft connect, etc, i also have a platform called Arcade PC which is not a platform in our database) and i have never had any issues at all with corruption of my .xml files. I think you may have a more serious underlying issue here somewhere.
  23. Have you tried installing elsewhere on your PC, does that fail also?
  24. These look like two different issues, not the same one. @KKND in your case i would check that your antivirus hasnt deleted files. In your case @Kazan22 i havent seen that error before, and as i dont know how to code ill tag the devs to see if they have a idea. Unfortunately though it is the weekend, so you may not get a reply until they are back at work on Monday. @Jason Carr @C-Beats
