Have not seen this issue and just tested some games. Default emulator is showing up. Tested on latest LB stable version as well as the latest beta. How are you importing? Drag and drop or are you scanning for new file? Also is this an English version of LB or one of the translated language versions? Images from importing a Game Boy game. During the import wizard you can see in the second image it recognize Retroarch as my default for Game Boy. The last image is the edit screen of the game. The Emulation tab is showing RA is attached to it.

That background image is controlled by the theme. Looks like you are using either Unified or Unified Redux. In the theme's folder there will be a theme images folder and in there a background folder. The platform background image is placed there named after the platform. The name must match the platform name as it appears in your LB/BB set-up. Example using Unified Redux. Image path is \LaunchBox\Themes\Unified Redux\Images\Theme\Background

Yes people did use it for things likes bezels and fades. As well as some other things. LB never used RocketLauncher to run. That was and still is a user preference.

Launchbox Adding Deleted Games After Reboot
Retro808 replied to DasiyAge12's topic in Troubleshooting
It should. If it is not I do not know why it will not delete. That backup file that was in there did you make that backup and place it there? -
Only thing I can think of is when you imported the games during the import wizard steps did you make sure image/media types you wanted downloaded were checked? If boxes are unchecked nothing will download. How you can confirm this is drag and drop a game into the platform follow the steps until you get to the media piece LB will remember the options you had checked for the last import for that platform. If you get to the image below and nothing is checked then that is why no media got downloaded. You can just cancel the process.

Launchbox Adding Deleted Games After Reboot
Retro808 replied to DasiyAge12's topic in Troubleshooting
Yes. In the left hand pane of LB where you can select things like Platform, Platform Category and so on, select the drop down box and change the option to "Select Games Missing" then in the new options choose "Games Missing 3D Box". It will then list all those games. -
Launchbox Adding Deleted Games After Reboot
Retro808 replied to DasiyAge12's topic in Troubleshooting
Yes. LB will try to read both of them and if the backup file contains the games you tried to delete LB will see them in that backup file. If you back any of those files up you need to store them outside of the \Launchbox\Data folders. -
Launchbox Adding Deleted Games After Reboot

In your \Launchbox\Data\Platforms folder do you have any platform xaml files backed up in that folder? In that folder you should only see 1 xaml file per platform are there any named backup in the folder? -
In LB if you edit the Retroarch setup and select the Pause tab, then look in the Save State and Load State tabs is there AHK script language present?

Double check to make sure you have you button mapped to the option for "Close Active Window" and not mapped to "Exit" in BigBox mappings. If you have it mapped to "Exit" that's why it would not work. That "Exit" option is to exit the BigBox frontend.

Tested both those themes and games for multiple emulators work fine. I will test on a couple other machines to make sure. I know Startups can cause issues with some emulators, but that is Startups as a whole, not a specific theme. This was something Jason mentioned early on with the development of startups and partly why we can turn it off by emulator.

Give this a try.

You mentioned escape key and you had to change your back button. Escape key, do you mean the button you use to exit a game?

You might get a faster answer posting on their asking on RL forum. We do have some who use RL with their LaunchBox setup, but those who still use it and actively post on our forum are few. So I would also post on their forum in case an answer here is slow to come.

I know I do not see those screens. You can extend how long the Startup screen displays as well as hide any windows not in Exclusive Fullscreen. Not at the house right now, but I may have those set. Edit the emulator in LB and in the Startup tab you will see a check box to hide windows not in exclusive fullscreen and a slider bar you can adjust for how long startup will be delayed.

Well BB only uses the LB set-up. So not sure why BB would have a different result. All emulation is set up in LB. What do you mean hijacks the screen? So do the games actually load or does it just load up to the TP UI and no game?

I thought this got figured out in the other thread when we looked at Dirty Drivin'? You were using --private= in the games command line option instead of --profile=? What other games are you having issues with? Emulator set up is below. Some guides tell you to put --profile= in the default command line parameter in the LB emulator set-up screen, but it is not needed since in each game edit screen in LB you put --profile and the games profile xaml. So no need to duplicate that command line. Import the game either using the Teknoparrot game profile xml or a blank text document. Then in the edit screen of the game in the Emulation page enter the default command line --profile= with the game profile xaml. Such as --profile=Rambo.xaml

What version LB are you on? If you are on 11.4 that plugin is not working with the latest changes in LB. It needs to be updated by the author of the plugin.

It is not in Retroarch it is in LB. In >Tools>Manage Emulators choose Retroarch and edit it. You will see the check box for the item Neil mentioned. Make sure it is not checked.

Is there a way to pick which box cover will show on Launchbox?
Retro808 replied to hollowdeathcult's topic in Noobs
In Launchbox tools there are image priorities you can set. So in this case for Box art you can select the Fanart - Box - Front and place it above Box - Front (there are buttons to move each priority up or down the chain) and when a game has a Fanart Box it will display it. If it does not have one it will display Box - Front. The image priorities lets you set fallback items in case an image type is missing and to set which image will show as the priority. -
Yes. You can just run the last installer. It will not mess up settings. Just pay attention to the folder it is installing to. Some people do not watch and it ends up installing into a \Launchbox\Launchbox folder. Instead of just \Launchbox.
