I had a day to spare on the weekend and wanted to try my hand at a LaunchBox plugin. This is the result. I don't plan to actively develop it too much moving forward, as this was very much a weekend hobby experiment project. Still, it works, and I figured I would share it in case it is useful to someone. Requirement: LaunchBox 13.26 or higher What does this do? It's currently a movie importer plus metadata and artwork scraper. It is designed for people who already have a local movie collection organized for apps like Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby. It imports that folder into LaunchBox with minimal fuss. It also downloads and configures MPV so movies can launch cleanly as an "emulator", and be used with a controller. Metadata and artwork provided by TheTVDB. Installation Close LaunchBox Download the 7z archive Unblock the archive in Windows if needed (Right click > Properties > Unblock) Extract it into your LaunchBox Plugins folder Your structure should end up like this: LaunchBox\Plugins\CinemaBox\CinemaBox.dll LaunchBox\Plugins\CinemaBox\CinemaBox.deps.json How to use Tools > CinemaBox Runs the import and downloads and configures MPV. Right click a movie > CinemaBox > Change Match (TVDB) Rematch the movie and re download metadata and artwork. Right click a movie > CinemaBox > Media Download (Replace Artwork) Grab alternate artwork. A few things to be aware of: Matching is based on folder and file names. If your naming is messy, results may be messy. If TheTVDB changes their API, this plugin can break. Heavy scraping could potentially hit API rate limits. MPV configuration is basic and meant to “just work”. If something breaks, feel free to post about it. I'll be checking in every now and then, and may be able to fix it. Uninstall Close LaunchBox Delete the folder: LaunchBox\Plugins\CinemaBox5 points -

Ready for the ride? Let me take you back to that 80s / early 2000s retrogaming vibe, when every theme felt like a playground and everything was still waiting to be discovered. These themes won’t necessarily be for everyone. Some have a very distinctive style, sometimes a bit wild. But I’m sharing them exactly as they are, without any retouching, because that’s where everything began. These are the first steps of a journey that would later grow into much bigger projects. And honestly… with all the gloomy news we keep hearing these days, a little nostalgic escape can’t hurt. So come along. Let’s rewind the cassette, switch the arcade machines back on… and revisit the very first steps of this adventure. And who knows… you might already spot, in these early themes, the first seeds of what would eventually become my custom big box Nostalgic Bedroom. 🎮✨ _________ I’ve made a lot… and I mean a lot of these over the years. Give me a little time to properly archive everything, and I’ll put together a massive zip pack for you. Something that really brings the thunder. This RetroArch overlay project was created directly from the internal files of Super Bomberman Collection. Instead of simply taking inspiration from the visuals, I extracted the original graphic elements from the game itself (frames, backgrounds, and artwork), then processed and reorganized everything to work properly as a RetroArch overlay, while preserving 100% of the official visual identity.3 points -

Here's the newest versions of my Playlists. Most of these have been uploaded here already but some have been improved or re-done. There are a few new ones too. No images here, just the .xml files from my Data / Playlists folder. *I've since found a couple that were duplicated, UBISOFT and WARNER BROS. Also, WAR is incorrect and should be deleted (recreate with GENRE = Action; Shooter)* Let me know if you see any others that need correcting.2 points -

A few theme videos and video snaps I made for the Playstation 4. Focusing mostly on exclusives that are somewhat playable on emulators. How to add them to your LaunchBox and BigBox: Download the zip file. Extract to LaunchBox's root folder. Content will be extracted to its proper folders. Done! Theme videos and video snaps will show up on BigBox and LaunchBox. Just make sure your game's name matches the video's file name. For an optimal experience, use BigBox themes that support fullscreen videos views like the Unified themss and change the transitions to Fade or Quick Fade. Previews: List of Games: Bloodborne DriveClub The Last Guardian Gravity Rush Remastered InFAMOUS Second Son The Order: 1886 (not playable yet) P.T. Technical Details: Theme videos are 1080p or 1440p, encoded using HEVC for optimal file size. Video snaps are 720p and are encoded using x264 for compatibility. Them videops' audio is 160 kbps aac, video snaps 96-160 kbps aac. Looking for a title not on the list? Check out the PC Games Theme Videos thread, it has a lot of theme videos for Windows games that are also on PS4:2 points -

**This removes the nag screen that informs you if a rom doesn't work correctly, or if at all, if you use this no nag, then please do NOT go to the mame support site with issues with games, please only use if you understand that there will be no help from anyone at mamedev as you are using a modified version of mame. Contents: mame.exe - Normal Mame with Nags removed. (Note mame no longer carries the 64 in its exe name changed by Devs in 0.229) This version also allows the games Akai Katana and Dodonpachi Saidaioujou to be played. It's advisable to download the full mame official pack and install it, then just overwrite the exe with the replacement, this covers any changes the mame devs may have made to the support files. After you have done this, make sure you copy the folders artwork, ctrlr, cheat, hlsl, ini, folders and the ini files from the root of your original mame folder, and move/copy them to the new install. If you are using your own installed/setup of mame then make sure you also set in the mame.ini 'Skip_gameinfo 1' If you got Launchbox to setup mame for you when asked, you only need to replace the exe and play. As some are not sure about False Positives, and report a virus was detected, As goes for all versions i upload, they are all ran through virustotal before i upload, and if by any chance something did end up with an issue it would be noticed very quickly after upload and would be removed/restricted. 0.285 - VirusTotal - File - 4bcfb12b87f63afa1f0241915d7e812ecbf14e83faa6ed62af1b49582d70930d All NEW versions of the No-Nag will be posted in this download thread only, if you wish to get the new releases every month, either follow myself or the thread, As the download section will not show any new releases.2 points -

Hi everyone, I’d like to share a small utility I created called M3U Generator. It’s designed to automatically generate .m3u files for multi-disc games, commonly used with emulators like RetroArch and others that support playlist-style disc switching. 💡 What it does: Scans a selected folder for game files (.cue, .iso, .img, .bin). Groups discs belonging to the same game (based on filenames). Creates .m3u playlist files in a subfolder named m3u. Optionally includes single-disc games as well. 📦 Features: ✅ Supports subfolder-style or flat playlist paths (..\\ or current folder). 🔍 Filter results based on a keyword (e.g., "Disc" or "CD") to process only relevant files. 📝 Displays a log of the generated .m3u content directly in the software. 🧠 Automatically names playlists based on the first disc. 🕹 Example use case: Let’s say you have these files: Game Title (Disc 1).cue Game Title (Disc 2).cue The software will create: m3u/Game Title (Disc 1).m3u With content: ..\Game Title (Disc 1).cue ..\Game Title (Disc 2).cue 📥 How to use it: Launch the application. Click "Select Folder" and choose the directory where your ROMs are located. Optionally enter a filter term like Disc to process only multi-disc games. Choose path mode (relative or current folder). Check the "Include single-disc games" option if needed. Click "Start" – the .m3u files will be generated in a m3u subfolder. The output will be shown in the result textbox and also saved to 1-m3u_results.txt.2 points -

Intro Note; Originally taken from Reddit, posted by Echoj2. I found these while looking into making an English 1G1R set. It includes Japanese games that are not English but have little to no Japanese text which afaik is very difficult to do using clrmamepro. You will to build your own up-to-date No-Intro set or you will be missing some roms. This morning I made some No-Intro-based batch files for various console and handhelds for someone in another post. Seeing as they might be useful to some people, I decided to post them here as well. 1G1R means "One Game One ROM", which further means that there is only one copy of each game. The Batch Files These were made with the following ROMs in the order listed. USA Europe - Exclusives and Semi-Exclusives That Require Localization Only Japan (En) - Japan Games That Are In English Japan - English-Friendly Japan Games That Are Semi-Exclusive To Europe Basic Info Just grab each ZIP for the systems you want from the folder, unpack them, run the batch files in the system's No-Intro ROM Set's ROM ZIP folder, then you'll have a new folder of ROMs including just the English games. You should know that if your No-Intro ROM Set is outdated on the names for the ROM ZIPs, then the batch files will not get every game; the same goes for if they are updated as well, but only Japanese games change names often. That's just how things go and you'll have to update your No-Intro ROM Sets then make your own 1G1R ROM Set to be certain you have everything, which you can read how to do directly below. However, keep in mind you can also use my new future-proof DAT files instead of No-Intro's latest 1G1R DAT files, with the advantage of mine being that I have the multi-cart re-releases and special controller games removed (among other things). Changelog 2017-11-07: Cleaned up Atari 2600 bat. Think it is the only way to get a No-Intro 1G1R ROM Set (barring the special controller required games) for Atari 2600 on the internet now. Still need to prune bad prototypes... well... the ones that have the (Proto) tag and don't work or are too unfinished; published prototypes (yeah, they did that back then) are treated the same as published finished games since they were widespread released. 2018-03-19: Today I finished the Atari 2600 batch file. It's about as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned. The unreleased game prototypes have been pruned down to what appears to only be the games that are complete enough to be called games. Can't be sure I have every Atari 2600 game or the best version of games that were renamed and re-released, but its current state is about as good as it gets. 2018-03-20: Updated the problem spreadsheet. Mostly a bunch of N/A for lots of systems. Updated some batch files here and there, though nothing major outside of finally getting rid of the emulated NES ports in the GBA batch file. 2018-04-06: Lots of updating over the past few days. Most Semi-Exclusive Europe games should now be replaced wherever possible with English-Friendly Japan games. Numerous Special Controller Required games also removed, though not completely. 2018-04-09: Added Magnavox - Odyssey2 batch file in preparation of the new RetroArch update that will add keyboard to gamepad remapping. 2018-04-10: I've done horrible things today. Fixed N64 batch file so that it gets "Superman - The New Superman Aventures" and learned more about a game I wish I could forget. Added the unlicensed Tengen and Codemasters games to the NES batch file due to their their fame/notoriety, respectfully. Tengen made some fine games, while Codemasters... made a few good ones... I promise. Updated all batch files to No-Intro names as of 2018-04-08 and have made a mental note to not update again until nearly future-proof custom 1G1R DATs are made. 2018-05-16: The future-proof DATs have been made! They are included with each batch file in case there is a name issue with batch files. Just need to tackle the prototype pruning, then prune the whole Odyssey2/Videopac batch/DAT due to the emulators incompatibilities and make a Videopac+ batch/DAT that has gone through the same process as the Odyssey2/Videopac. 2018-05-18: Added 1G1R lists for Sega CD and TurboGrafx-CD. Hope someone finds them useful, though I can't say for certain how accurate the TurboGrafx-CD one is due to the fact I only spent a minimal amount of time time removing USA released games from my main Japan collection: please report any duplicates. 2018-07-04: Full update of batches and DATs, and slightly improved all of them (hopefully). Added Intellivision now that No-Intro supports it. Put all DATs in a single archive since anyone that knows how to use them would just want to get them, and save all other users from downloading something they aren't going to use. 2018-07-13: Updated batches and DATs again. Narrowed scope of project to just official releases, a few notable unlicensed on the NES, and two prototypes that should just be unpublished in the USA yet complete otherwise.2 points -

View MAME DATs for games using MAME ROMs. Works across platforms (Arcade, Sega Model 3...) and emulators (MAME, Demul...). DAT - A file that stores specific information [data]. MAME uses Dat files to display extra information about its systems. (see The DAT Files below) Inspired from MAME's built in feature in the main UI and via their in-game Tab menu to view game specific initialization procedures (LaunchBox only), commands and history (LaunchBox only). This plugin combines my 3 other DAT Viewer plugins into a one-stop-shop. ⦁ View game specific commands from MAME's command.dat ⦁ MAME History.xml Viewer ⦁ MAME gameinit.dll Viewer Why this plugin? Why now? When I created the 1st one for command.dat, I didn't fathom creating any more. Same thing happened after creating the 2nd one for history.xml. It wasn't until after creating the gameinit.dll viewer that I realized I should have combined them all into one plugin. So here we are. Why use this one instead of the other 3? If you use at least 2 of the other plugins, you may consider using this one instead. Especially if one of them is the command.dat viewer. The original plugin doesn't provide the update feature this one has. All 3 Dat files are contained with this plugins folder. So no need to set them up in MAME (or MAMEUI). This plugin uses LaunchBox's multi-menu feature, making a cleaner look when right-clicking a game. It's just one plugin that LaunchBox has to load instead of [up to] three. Important note if switching from the other plugin(s) to this one: If you are switching from one (or more) of the other plugins to this one, remove the other plugin(s) from your LaunchBox installation! It won't break anything to have all 4 installed. But will create excess duplicative processing. Features: The 3 Dat files are included with the plugin. No need to download them separately or include them with your MAME installation. Option to update to the latest DATs as they become available. (See Updating) Choose which DATs to have available. (Remove or add on-the-fly. No restart required) (Updating and re-adding requires an internet connection) Option to have to always have the DAT Viewer window open full screen Badges are displayed for games that have initialization procedures and/or commands. (See Badges below for enabling them) Option to temporarily disable the plugin and badges (See Settings) Plugin Requirements: LaunchBox 13.3 or higher This plugin file (MAMEdatsViewer.dll) (The download includes all 3 DAT files to get you started) Installing: Download and then open the zip file using 7zip. If you don't use 7zip, first unblock the zip file (Right click, select Properties, and click Unblock) then open it as you normally would. Extract the main folder from inside the zip file into ..\LaunchBox\Plugins\ i.e. D:\LaunchBox\Plugins\MAMEdatsViewer\ Start LaunchBox How to Use: LaunchBox Right-click on a game Select MAME DATs Viewer Select an available option from the submenu(s) BigBox Select MAME commands from the Games View menu Settings: (LaunchBox only) Tools < View MAME DATs - Settings All 3 DATS will be listed and will each show: if the local file exists the local files' version (if exists) the current available version available to download three buttons (depending on the local files' status) Remove Add (requires an internet connection) Update (requires an internet connection) (Option) Full Screen: Check the box to have the DAT Viewer window always open full screen. (Option) Temporarily Disable Plugin: Checking this will remove the plugin from the games right-click menu and will also disable the plugin badges. It will stay disabled until it’s unchecked or LaunchBox is restarted. Badges: (LaunchBox only) A history badge is not included because pretty much all (if not all) MAME ROMs will have some sort of history entry. A badge will be displayed if there is an entry in gameinit.dat for that game. A badge will be displayed if there is an entry in commands.dat for that game. To enable the badge(s), click Badges, Plugin Badges, MAME Gameinit, MAME Commands. The Badge image can be changed by replacing the image(s) ../LaunchBox/Images/Badges/MAMEgameinit.png ../LaunchBox/Images/Badges/MAMEcommands.png Updating: (LaunchBox only) (Requires an internet connection) 2 options: When loading the plugin by right clicking a game, it will check the local version of the selected DAT against what's available online If a newer version is available, you will be given the option to Update the local copy. Updating will attempt to download and then replace the existing file. Tools < View MAME DATs – Settings Here you can check/update all 3 DATs The DAT Files: command.dat Courtesy of: https://www.progettosnaps.net/command/ Lists the various commands of many arcade games. Shows controller command sequences used to make special moves in games. gameinit.dat (LaunchBox only) Courtesy of: https://www.progettosnaps.net/gameinit/ Shows information on how to run tricky systems. This file lists the initialization procedures of some games emulated by MAME. (Not all MAME games require any initial setup to run, but some do.) history.xml (LaunchBox only) Courtesy of: https://www.arcade-history.com/index.php?page=download Contains game information, trivia, facts and tips on the arcade systems supported by MAME. This is a giant collection of platform logos drawn digitally by hand. This took well over 500 hours of work over 15 months. While console logos exist all over the internet, this collection aims to bring them to a higher level of polish and accuracy. The default logos in BigBox will now come from this set. It was extremely tedious to ensure a very high level of accuracy across thousands of files. So Many Versions! Each included platform has multiple logo variants. Basically, many consoles had different logos for different regions and time periods. There are also smaller variations such as with or without a trademark (tm). There are black and white versions for each of these. With all of these it can add up to over 50 small variations for one platform! This would be impossible to navigate so I’ve split them up into smaller categories. For each format (Normal, Large and SVG) there are Light and Dark folders. For either of those there are: “Color”, “Black & White” and “Just White” (or Just Black respectively). If you wanted to use a minimalistic dark theme, you could use the “Just White” versions for a contemporary look. If you wanted logos for a standard dark theme then you could use “Light - Color”. Official Versions Included Besides the many hand drawn logos, I’ve also curated multiple logos that are the OFFICIAL renderings. Meaning, vector art ripped from official sources such as websites and pdf manuals. Finding official source art in the wild is pretty uncommon and required many hours of digging. Most of the source art was not in color so most of these colors are still generated by me. Some of the platforms with official logos include: Sadly, some of these wasted a lot of my time because I drew them and later found the official versions. The Drawing Process: My process for drawing a logo required many steps. I first did research on each logo. Then I would dig deep for the best references I could find. One rule I had was to never trust any image. I would compare multiple sources and make sure the source I chose was not fan made or some modern re-release that changed the logo. If a better source was found that showed differences from what I drew I would redraw it again (it sucked). I redrew the NEO GEO logo about 5 times before I was finally happy with it. Generally, source art would include box art images, adverts, brochures, and manual scans. Archive.org and Manualslib.com were a huge help for a lot of these scans. I would then use the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator and go to town! Sometimes if my source was really amazing, I could finish the whole logo in an hour and a half or so. Other times it would take much, much longer. Getting the correct color was always challenging and required intelligent guesswork. For example, with the classic Konami logo, I brought in 20 images. Gathered the color from all of those and found the average color for the red and orange. Then I’d tweak it slightly more, usually to improve saturation. When it came to fonts, I would always search for it but rarely found exact matches. If the font was found I’d obviously use it, but If not I’d have to hand draw it. However, a couple of the smaller taglines/subtitles do use a very close match. Hand drawing those fonts would do more harm than good. While drawing a logo I took great care to make things as visually pleasing as possible. Every little section of each letter of each logo was considered. Curves were carefully made to be smooth with as few anchor points as possible. Letters align with each other and angled letters all share the same angle. Hand drawing fonts is very tricky. Many logos were substantially harder than I’d anticipated. The Sega Saturn US logo for instance, drove me insane. It took over 40 hours to draw (not to mention wasted time from failed attempts months earlier). I used Adobe Illustrator to mimic every highlight, tiny color shift, shading and glow. When I was working on this logo, I’d come home from my graphic design day job and then spend 4 hours on it, which would only finish part of one letter. As I worked, I’d have a couple copies of the logo in the same file and a couple times it bottomed out 32GB of ram! Unique Versions This collection brings a few unique logos to the table. I’m just going to list a few. I created multiple new arcade and pinball logos, although previous arcade logos are here too. I highly polished the Daphne logo as it needed some love. I drew a detailed version of the TeknoParrot logo which seems to be uncommon in high resolution. I also created Sega system 16 and 32 arcade logos based on the exact font used in the Sega 32X and Sega CD (Copperplate Gothic Std 31AB stretched horizontally to 130%). The Capcom logos have stylized alternate versions based on a gradated version Capcom rarely uses. There are several other unique logos I could list here. White Outline - Default Versions Since these logos are replacing the default logos in BigBox, Faeran smartly requested that I create versions with white outlines around the outside. That way logos could be seen against any background color. I only made the outline versions for the options I gave to Faeran. I don’t plan on making outline versions for the rest of the variations. That said, the versions I did make are included here. The outline versions don’t look quite as nice in my opinion but they serve a very functional and important purpose. Solid black logos for some systems, like the PSP, would not be visible in certain themes without a white outline. However, theme creators or those wanting to add logos to a single theme, I would still recommend the non-outline versions for the cleanest look. Conclusion I included every platform and version that I wanted to. There are some more obscure ones I could draw but I didn’t see the need to seeing as how I've created 22,000 files as is. If I knew how much work this was going to take, I would've never gotten myself into this (lol). I hope that you guys get a lot of enjoyment out of these. I’m glad I made them and it feels really good to finally be able to upload them. I made these originally for LaunchBox but they can be used elsewhere. I will always appreciate credit if you use them. Needless to say, I don’t own the rights to the logos and these are NEVER to be sold in any way. Thanks Special thanks to Juketstu and Faeran for their valuable feedback. Also, huge thanks again to Faeran and the LaunchBox team for using these as the new defaults for BigBox! V4.0 Update with all 130 tables as of December 12, 2024. The following includes media for Pinball FX. Media naming is formatted for ease of import assuming setup as noted below. Screenshots and Fanart are all 1920x1080 and in PNG format. Goal was to try to find high quality images. Unfortunately, Zen only ever releases some media for their tables so you have to hunt and peck. I will update pack periodically as get time. I also have about 25% of a video pack done but that may be awhile at this point and will release as separate download entry. Setup in Launchbox [ YOU FOLLOW POST BELOW FOR MEDIA TO MATCH AUTOMATICALLY] Media in this Pack Clear Logos (Clear Logo.zip). Grimm Tales was only table couldn't find a decent image. So recreated via an approximate font. It is close but not exact. If find better will upload. Tarcisio Style Wheels - Silver/Round (Box - Front - Reconstructed.zip). I have been playing around with another wheel format but only done one attached at end of this for Indy set. Screenshots (all 1920x1080 PNG format files): Gameplay (Screenshot - Gameplay.zip): Desktop View Game Select (Screenshot - Game Select.zip): Full Table View Game Title (Screenshot - Game Title.zip): These are typically backglass type images. For physical tables the images are from backglass (non-stretched). For others typically will be similar to fanart images but with various logos on image. Fanart - Background (Fanart - Background.zip): about half are similar to the Game Title images but others are more "simple" with no Zen logos and less textual clutter. Not all Zen tables have easy to find media so in some cases the fanart file will be identical to the Game Title above. Advertisement Flyers (front and back) for the physical tables: currently 28 as of 7/29/2023. In the Advertisement Flyer - Front.zip and Advertisement Flyer - Back.zip Steam Backglass Images (Cabinet.zip) - 2 monitor setups only: You only need this if you have two monitors and want a back glass image on the second monitor. Images are the same as the Game Title versions above but renamed as needed to properly work (need a "_" in the name and must be PNG format). These are to be placed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pinball FX\PinballFX\Mods\Cabinet Note not to be confused with the Launchbox "arcade cabinet" media. This is for Steam folder only. Credits: Update 9/3/2003 with 3D Box since LB DB doesn't have separate entry for FX: Pinball FX.xml2 points -

Happy Christmas or Yule brothers! Arcade 3D Boxes 2.0 Important: Press follow button in the upper right corner to get notified for any future updates to this project, future updates to this page will not be pushed to the "What's New" section. I was inspired by the Mame 3D Boxes by @Robin55 and @Reevesad and the work by @spycat and @MadK9 At first I experimented to convert Robin's work to a darker color as it fits my dark colored setup better, one thing let to another and was helped enormously by @Robin55 in the process of automation and more, if it wasn't for all his help and work this project wouldn't have happened, thanks again so much brother! \m/ The 3D boxes are mostly for the Mame set (could include other emulators as well) but only includes Arcade video games, no pinball, fruit machines and such. Features: Covers based on official flyers, instruction flyers or fan art, customized official artwork and more. I've hunted down previously artwork missing from databases and/or very rare flyers, original resolution of these images can be low some times. Each box has a logo for the game, if it was missing I've hunted it down or extracted it from images (I upload these logos to the database as well) Each box has a logo of the company that either developed or published it (some flyers may have a different publisher from another region, bit confusing at times) Each box is manually color corrected, cleaned and optimized Some games have a second alternative version, made from cabinet side art, marquees or from a different region for example Please remember if you miss boxes to also check the naming convention of the file and if it is the same as the most recent version in the database. Any entry with "The" in front (Like The Astyanax) will be included in the QRST pack. NOTE! : After installing the images you have to select all (or any alphabetical range) arcade games (CTRL+A = select all) go to Tools and click 'Refresh selected images', let it load and cache and the games should now display the right 3D boxes. Hope you like Credits Thanks go out to anyone contributing and making art for the launchbox games database. Thanks for any help, encouragement and advice: @Robin55 @spycat @MadK9 @Reevesad @Jason Carr @Kondorito @zetec-s-joe @Fablog @andyco47 @mikty @PoloniumRain Special thanks to: @neil9000 and @Retro808 for those logistics \m/2 points -

Sharing some theme videos and video snaps I made for Windows games. More to come as soon as I make them. Follow me or this thread to get notified when new content is added. How to add them to your LaunchBox and BigBox: Download the zip files. If you only want the new content, download only the zip file labeled as NEW. Extract to LaunchBox's root folder. Content will be extracted to its proper folders. Done! Theme videos and video snaps will show up on BigBox and LaunchBox. Just make sure your game's name matches the video's file name. For an optimal experience, use BigBox themes like the Unified ones and change the transitions to Fade or Quick Fade. UPDATE: 2 11/01/26 -All missed inputs added to the images, inis and documentation updated -Better instructions -Additional help for the padDemul popup error END OF UPDATE UPDATE: 1 Using Demul with LaunchBox needs a specific setup. I've added some clear instructions on how to do so. Furthermore, using the bat files provided in LaunchBox requires you to uncheck 'use an emulator'. Which is an easy job. However, doing that will restrict you from using the 'Running Script' which allows you to Exit the Emulator with Esc. Booo. I want to be able to have per game controls AAAND Esc as exit when using LaunchBox. So, again I have done just that. There are now some LB specific bat files that need be integrated into the 'Additional Apps' part for all 6 games. It's a quick job I promise. This allows the per game configs to be used while retaining the 'Esc to exit' functionality in the 'Running Script' of the emulator. I have also added the control inputs to the documentation. This makes it easy if you for some reason need to set it yourself. The LaunchBox side of this requires a bit of setup, so the whole procedure will be below. ENF OF UPDATE Get the Emulator here. Link may become out of date over time but you'll be in the right place for the new versions. https://www.emu-france.com/?wpfb_dl=7038 With the release of the new Demul emulator specifically for Hikaru, a pre config is deserved. No messing with this one. It was complicated for me, but for you it's stupid easy. Demul doesn't support per game control configs, which is a pain as these Arcade games require bespoke configs. Meaning you'll have to constantly change the defaults each time you change game. Boooo. So, I have made some per game ini files with the correct controls set. Just figuring out the controls was a nightmare. Anyway, along with these per game ini files, I have made some .bat files to launch said games with their respective per game control ini file. Forcing per game controls into Demul. There are 2 versions. The bat files you can use standalone or anywhere else, and the ones that are LB specific. LB needs different ones as the Running Script needs to be active for Esc to be exit, and this can't be used if 'Use emulator' is checked, which is required for the normal bats to work and apply per game setting. Booo! Anyway, here are the bat examples, they are super simple. Normal, general bat launcher that you can use standalone or anywhere else. @echo off cd /d "%~dp0.." copy /Y "controls\padDemul_airtrix.ini" "padDemul.ini" start "" demul.exe -run=hikaru -rom=airtrix exit LaunchBox Specific Bat @echo off cd /d "%~dp0.." copy /Y "controls\padDemul_airtrix.ini" "padDemul.ini" exit INSTRUSCTIONS: SETUP DEMUL WITH LAUNCHBOX -Add emulator as normal, add application path to demul.exe as normal -Check (turn on) 'Remove quotes' & 'Remove file extension and folder path' & 'Remove space before rom' -Go to Associated Platforms and add Sega Hikaru as a platform (if not already there) -In Default Command Line Perimeters IN THE ASSOCIATED PLATFORM you MUST ADD: -run=hikaru -rom= -Go to Running Scripts and replace the one that's already there with this more reliable one: SetKeyDelay, 0, 50 $Esc::Send !{F4} That's the emulator done! PER GAME CONTROLS AND LB BAT FILES INSTALL: -Download and unzip the pre config files. -Place 'lb bat launchers', 'bat launchers' and 'controls' folders into the root of your Demul folder. -Right click on a Hikaru game, Edit, Metadata and Media -Go to Additional Apps on the left and hit Add Application -Name it whatever but I go with "Romname Per Game Controls" -Hit browse next to Application Path -Then select the .bat file for the game you are configuring FROM THE 'LB BAT LAUNCHERS' FOLDER PROVIDED that should be in the root of Demul, after you put it there. -Leave Command line blank. -Check (turn on) 'Auto Run Before Application' and 'Wait for Exit' -Hit ok to save -Repeat from step 3 for the other 5 games. You'll then have per game controls aaand esc as exit. Yaaaay! If you aren't using LB, use the non LB bat launchers. These work standalone or with other front ends. But, Alt+F4 will be exit unless a solution is deployed. Additional HELP: Some users, particularly Steering Wheel users, have been reporting this error message. Despite getting this message, users have been reporting everything still works when they close the popup. This may or may not be the case for you. padDemul Error! (HRESULT = 80070057) |DirectInputDevice8 Create Effect FAILED IF everything still works after closing this, you'll have to close it every time it pops up with whatever controller is causing the issue. To get around this, you can use a basic AHK to close the popup automatically. Simply add it to the Running Script of the emulator, under the one already there. WinWait, padDemul WinClose Keep in mind this will auto close ANY padDemul error popups. Be mindful if you are troubleshooting. My Patreon Link if you wanna help out and for more goodies https://patreon.com/warpedpolygon As is tradition, here is the documentation. There was some really tricky stuff despite being only 6 games. Air Trix airtrix airtrixo -The 'Roll' input is surplus to requirements when using a controller. It was barely functional on the OG cab, just looked cool. -Digital Up & Down is Ollie and Nollie (Grind). This confused the crap outa me until I looked at the owner's manual. -Configured in the Alternate Settings due to the regular one splitting the analog axis for some reason. Rather than just binding some inputs to the alt ones, all have been bound to alt settings to save confusion. -Calibrate in the test menu for the best analog coverage. HOW TO PLAY: This game has been setup to play like Tony Hawks. X/A is Ollie/Tricks, Grinds are Triangle/Y. There is no "nollie" despite the board making that motion on the OG cab. Standing on the nose is just Grind/Lip Trick. -Left Stick to move and spin -X/A is Ollie. Press this again multiple times while in the air to do combos. -Triangle/Y is Grind. You MUST be turning at the same time to do a grind. -Spinning you have 2 options: 1-Simply hold left or right when hit the lip and you'll automatically do a basic spin trick. 2-Ollie at the lip while holding left or right, to do a "better" spin trick than if you hadn't ollied at all. Doing Different Tricks: -When doing an "combo air" (no spinning) you can use left and right on the left stick, as well as ollie, to do tricks while in the air. Key To Getting Good -If you are still holding a spin direction on re-entry you'll slow down. Remember to let go of the stick before you go back in the ramp. -Combos can only be performed when not spinning. As long as you aren't holding a direction at the same time as doing an ollie, you'll be doing a 'combo air'. -However, you can still spin AND combo in the same air. As long as you let go of the direction, you can combo at any time. So, you can spin at the start of an air, let go of the stick and spam X/A to combo for the rest of the air. DEMUL CONTROL CONFIG. ONLY WHAT THE GAME USES WILL BE LISTED. THIS IS TO HELP IF YOU NEED TO MAP CONTROLS YOURSELF. JOY 1, Use "Alternative Settings": -Digital UP = Nollie / Stand on Nose (Grind) -Digital DOWN = Ollie / Tricks -Digital LEFT & RIGHT = Character Select / Menu Left & Right Analog 1 LEFT & RIGHT = Turn / Spin / Swing Boad Analog 2 LEFT & RIGHT = Roll (This input is not required for controller use. No need to map it) Planet Harriers pharrier -Nice and easy controls to configure. Nothing bizzare of annoying here. -Calibrate in the test menu for the best analog coverage. DEMUL CONTROL CONFIG. ONLY WHAT THE GAME USES WILL BE LISTED. THIS IS TO HELP IF YOU NEED TO MAP CONTROLS YOURSELF. JOY 1 -Analog 1 UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = Move (If you want inverted controls set up to down, down to up) -Digital LEFT = View 1 -Digital RIGHT = View 2 -PUSH 1 = Shoot -PUSH 2 = Lock-On -PUSH 3 = Bomb NASCAR Arcade sgnascar sgnascaro -So, most controls were easy to figure out...except gears. This ended up being looooong.... -Gears are bound to the JOY 2 slot of the configuration, despite being a 1 Player instance. Confusing to say the least. -Now more confusion. It's a 4 way H Gear system with a Neutral position, 5 inputs technically. This is set to the Up/Down/Left/Right digital inputs of the JOY 2 config. -Strange thing is Up is 3rd gear and Down is 4th gear, with Left and Right being inputs, just not on their own. 1st & 2nd gear are combination inputs.... FOR SOME GOD FORSAKEN REASON. 1st Gear = Digital Up/3rd Gear with DIGITAL LEFT at the same time. 2nd Gear = Digital Down/4th Gear with DIGITAL LEFT at the same time. What digital left actually is, is a mystery. It doesn't register as a gear on its own, only in combination with 3rd and 4th gear. It's a miracle I even caught this to be honest. Maybe on the OG cab the physical gear lever would pressed have multiple inputs when in 1st and 2nd. It's the only explanation I can think of. Aaanyway, I have macro these inputs to actually work thanks to the 'Alternative Settings'. These allow multiple inputs to be bound, helping me to get the gears in sequence on the face buttons. DEMUL CONTROL CONFIG. ONLY WHAT THE GAME USES WILL BE LISTED. THIS IS TO HELP IF YOU NEED TO MAP CONTROLS YOURSELF. Demul Gear Settings to Macro/Combine Stupid Shit Gear Inputs (xbox buttons, just for reference): MUST BE DONE IN JOY 2 CONFIGURATION -In 'normal config' (not Alternative) Digital UP = X Digital DOWN = B Digital LEFT = Y -In Alternative Settings Digital UP = A Digital DOWN = Y Digital LEFT = X This means the gear controls are as below. Just like a H transmission. X = 1st Y = 2nd A = 3rd B = 4th The rest of the controls you want to set in normal settings (not alt) IN JOY 1 -Analog 1 LEFT & RIGHT = Steering -Analog 1 UP = Accelerate -Analog 1 DOWN = Brake -Digital UP = View Change Despite this effort, the gears still aren't usable, unless you constantly hold the button for that gear. The age old issue of 'gears not sticking' has been around forever. This needs to be tackled at the emulation development level, or with something like joytokey. Now that I have identified them, perhaps someone can do something about it so we can have gears that stay in position. Star Wars: Racer Arcade swracer -Nice and easy to configure. -Nice and easy to play, this game AUTO ACCELERATES. Kid friendly. Braking is still manual. No option for manual acceleration at all. -Test Menu is fine at default. Calibration is correct out of the box! DEMUL CONTROL CONFIG. ONLY WHAT THE GAME USES WILL BE LISTED. THIS IS TO HELP IF YOU NEED TO MAP CONTROLS YOURSELF. JOY 1 -Analog 1 LEFT & RIGHT = Steering -Digital LEFT & RIGHT = Character Select / Menu Left & Right -PUSH 1 = Boost -PUSH 2 = Brake Cyber Troopers Virtual-On 4: Force von4 -Another one that is a 1 player game but has inputs bound to JOY 2 config slot. Yay! -All of the Right Stick controls are the same as the left in JOY 1, just in JOY 2. Because of course they are! -Mapped exactly the same as the original. Watch the tutorial as it takes some getting used to. DEMUL CONTROL CONFIG. ONLY WHAT THE GAME USES WILL BE LISTED. THIS IS TO HELP IF YOU NEED TO MAP CONTROLS YOURSELF. JOY 1 (Left in game stick, shoot, boost, P.I.B) -Digital UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = Move -PUSH 1 = Left Shoot -PUSH 2 = Left Boost -PUSH 3 = P.I.B / Command JOY 2 (Right in game stick, shoot and boost) -Digital UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = Move -PUSH 1 = Right Shoot -PUSH 2 = Right Boost Brave Firefighters braveff -This "light gun game" only supports mouse control with Demul. As far as I know. -Mouse controls are kinda hard coded to the emulator. So there's nothing really for me to provide. All the .bat does is launch the game with default controls. This is just fine for 1 player. -2 Players requires RAW input. This is done in various ways with demul, mainly DemulShooter, which at this time doesn't support this build of Demul. -Normally I provide some kind of RAW input support for 2 players, but, everyone has their preferred way with Demul. So, it's up to you -If you have a suggestion to provide something for 2 player Raw input, let me know!1 point -

But please don't request "a clean verion" as I haven't kept the layer formats for all these 2000 games, this project is what it is. Realistic bezels in 3840x2160 resolution for MAME. My goal was to make bezels for around 1300 MAME games I had in my collection but I ended up making many bezels more. I started this project in 2019 and finished it in 2026. I used existing high quality artwork but also cleaned a lot of previously unavailable artwork which @Mr. Do had in his amazing collection. I searched high and low with google images to find existing artwork, which took me to Japanese websites often using google translate and research to get to those obscure images. The quality isn't always as high but I made sure I always used the highest quality I could find. Note: These artwork packs are made for older versions of Mame, if you use Mame 0.226 and upwards and find these files don't work right please see this post as you need to have them in a different lay structure: ============== Installation: Place the zip files inside the packs in mame/artwork/ Also be sure to curve the screen in Mame effects, you can use the preset files I've included in the downloads but they are for an older version of Mame (0.198) so they might not work on newer versions. This is a Big Box plugin that allows you to launch a game/application directly from the Platform Wheel View level. For use with platforms that only have one game/application. New in v2.0, now works in Hybrid views (if available). Hybrid Views are available in the Default theme in LaunchBox v13.22-beta-1 and newer. New in v2.1.0, (option) Set platform to go straight to the Game Details View (instead of directly launching the game). Example Use Case: You have a platform called "Music Box Alpha" which contains only one "game", the Music Box Alpha application. To launch it: Select the platform Select the [only] "game" Select "Play" (or press A on your controller to go to the games Details view). Using this plugin (once you've setup the Theme and added the platform via Launch Platform Setup in the Tools menu), to launch the application or go straight to the Game Details: Select the platform (That's it) Installing: Open the zip file and copy the contents into your ../LaunchBox/Plugins/ folder e.g. D:\LaunchBox\Plugins\LaunchPlatform\LaunchPlatform.dll If updating from a previous version, remove any existing .dll files first from the /LaunchPlatform/ subfolder. Setup: Click Tools and select Launch Platform Setup (You may first want to create a backup of the themes' folder you will be using for Big Box. You shouldn't need it, but never a bad idea.) Note: The Default theme is excluded. To use it, make a copy of the Default folder. e.g. /LaunchBox/Themes/Default - Copy/ In the Themes Not Setup list will be all your Big Box themes. (Excluding Default) Select the one you will be using use then click Setup Theme. This will now be listed in Themes Setup. At any time you can undo the changes made by selecting the setup Theme and click Restore Theme. Selecting platform(s) to Launch "the game": Select a Platform in the Platforms with one game List and click Launch . This will move it to the Platforms - Launch Game list. Selecting platform(s) to go directly to the Game Details View: Select a Platform in the Platforms with one game List and click Details . This will move it to the Platforms - Game Details list. Using: Start Big Box. If you just finished setting it up in LaunchBox, you can press Ctrl+B to switch to Big Box. Set the theme to the one you setup earlier (if it's not the current theme already). Scroll through your Platforms wheel until you find a platform you've added and select it. What's actually happening when you "Setup" a theme: (a behind the scenes look) @jayjay is the brains behind getting this to work, and I'm the one that threw it all together. So credit goes to where credit is due. (you decide ) If something's not working right, go ahead and post here and it'll get looked at. And possibly even get resolved.1 point -

What's this? Ever wanted to fill the holes on your 40k games DB for your Commodore 64 platform or create your own nice set of stylish clear logos for your favourite platform? I did, so I created this simple yet useful tool to batch create Clear Logos for each game you can select from your list, starting from a background png image and writing the game name on it, adjusting text appearance and previewing the result. How to install it Just download the zip and extract its content in the LaunchBox plugin folder. How to use it Just select as many games you want to create your clear logo for, right click on them and select "Create Clear Logo" form the context menu. A configuration form will let you choose the background png file to use as the base image of your clear logo (in the downloaded zip file there's an example of a Commodore 64 template clear logo); X and Y position where the name of the game will be rendered on the base image; The max width the name should take before shrinking to fit the logo; The font name to be used to render the game title (all fonts from your machine should be supported); The base size of the font to be used (if the rendered text exceeds the max width, the font size will be automatically decreased); The foreground color of the text (it supports html standard, so textual colors like "white" or Hex rapresentations like "#FFFFFF"); The shadow color of the text (it supports html standard, so textual colors like "white" or Hex rapresentations like "#FFFFFF"); if blank, no shadow will be rendered; A Check to create the Clear Logo even if it already exists; any clear logo is created as a second clear logo (with "<game title>-02.png" name) so it should not overwrite your main clear logo, but by default no Clear Logo is created if a clear logo named "<game title>-01.png" exists, to prevent priority on your main logos and just fill your holes in the collection, but if this option is checked ("Create if already exists") the logo will be created anyway for any game selected. Clicking Refresh button a Preview of the generated logo will be created (or refreshed) in the form, so you can test what the Clear Logo will look like, using the Preview Text you can modify, hopefully checking short and long names to see if the position and size parameters are ok. Once you're OK with the preview you can click "Generate" to start the bulk generation. A progress bar will let you know how long it's going to take, but it's a quite fast process. Disclaimer I created this plugin because I needed something like that and it's my first attempt to a structured plugin, so it could have issues, but I'm quite happy with the results, I hope you can enjoy it too!1 point -

Hi The Pioneer LaserActive can now be emulated using Ares. LaserActive comes in two flavors, the NEC LD-ROM² and the Sega Mega LD. As you may have guessed the games where stored on laser discs, giving them excellent video for the time. I was hopping that this would have been added to the database by now, but that hasn’t happened, so I'll upload this here for anyone wanting to add this games. There are ow files, Pioneer LaserActive and Pioneer LaserActive (OBI). Both of the contain images (Box front and back, disc) and some manuals. The OBI has the boxart with the OBI where possible, and the other one without the OBI, where possible. Every game has a Front box art, even games not yet ripped. :-) I added platform clear logos. And in the roms folder there is a _Fix.bat file. Now you should never run a bat file without knowing what it dose. So please open it in a text editor and have a look. Adding all your .mmi file in the roms folder and running the .bat will rename them and sort them into folders. Giving you 1G1R, and moving the rest to a remove folder, so you can delete them if you like. Anyway, I am going to start making some .bat files to sort MAME/FBNeo roms into platform folders. So if anyone is interested in that, let me know an I'll upload them here too1 point -

So, I have had this system in my collection for a while but went searching for basic media for it and really couldn't find anything that I can use so I just threw together some place holders. Figured more people might like these. Vircon32 is a new-ish fantasy console that is free and emulated in Retroarch. To clarify, I didnt create any of these, just cleaned them up and made them "Launchbox pretty". I think they all actually come from the Vircon32 development team. It comes with clear logo, device, default box (actually it's a cart but I use it as the box), and fanart.1 point -

I created some Platform Category Clear Logos! I had been using a set created by @knewlife which I really liked (found here). I just ran into a problem with the images scaling quite like I'd like to see. I decided to go ahead and recreate a couple of my favorites from scratch for a refresh, and riffed on his original idea with the others. These all started as 4K images @ 600 ppi and trimmed down from there. Arcade = Capcom Logo (recreation) Computers = IBM Logo (recreation) Consoles = PlayStation Logo Handhelds = Gameboy Logo Pinball = Williams Logo I made sure to use colors pulled from what I consider the definitive collection of logos created by @Dan Patrick where I could. I also made variations with white and black outlines with a couple of different line weights to accommodate light or dark themes.1 point -

This is a collection of incredible vector drawings graciously donated by Pineapple Graphics (Aka Snowway22) https://www.instagram.com/pineapple.graphics/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/PineappleGraphicsShp https://www.reddit.com/user/Snowway22/ These drawings take Snowway 10 to 15 hours each! I found this artist on Reddit accidentally and was instantly blown away by the quality of his work. Having a lot of experience in Adobe Illustrator myself, I was shocked to find that these were vector and not 3D models. His artwork showcases very clever techniques to sell the 3D effects including stunning imitations of various materials. Snowway said, “I ended up really enjoying the process and just kept going. I work as a graphic designer so I can make stuff like this in between ‘real’ work stuff. Everything for my job is rush rush. So, it’s really nice to relax, listen to some music, take my time and get lost in the detail. “ I told Snowway about LaunchBox and how this kind of artwork would be a huge boon for the frontend community. He was willing to contribute and even asked for suggestions on more controllers to draw. I gave him a list and some references to help. He said that he’d get to most of them, but he doesn't want to be rushed. I said take your time! Snowway later said, “If you could in any way shout out or plug my Instagram however or to whoever… that would be amazing. I, of course, don’t make any money from that but it’s been a fun hobby and the validation is a good motivator.” Guys, show your appreciation to this artist and enjoy his awesome work! Most of the “favorite” platforms are represented here. Feel free to suggest things here but just know that these drawings take a lot of time. While I’ve made carefully chosen suggestions based on what systems I think are most important and that people actually play, Snowway is the one crafting the art. I will continue to post more as this project grows! The current list of included platforms is as follows: Arcade (multiple versions) Analogue Pocket (Black and White) Atari 2600 (also paddle controllers) Atari 7800 (Controller and Joystick) Atari Jaguar Atari Lynx Atari VCS 2021 Bandai Wonderswan Color (2 Colors) Colecovision Commodore 64 (Mouse and Keyboard Variants) GCE Vectrex Logitech Steering Wheel Mattel Intellivision Microsoft Xbox Microsoft Xbox 360 Microsoft Xbox One Microsoft Xbox Series (Also Elite Controller) NEC TurboGrafx-16 / CD / DUO (also Turbo Express) Nintendo 3DS Nintendo 64 / DD Nintendo DS Nintendo Entertainment System (Also Dog Bone & Zapper) Nintendo Famicom Nintendo Game & Watch (Mario & Zelda) Nintendo Game Boy Nintendo Game Boy Advance (Original and SP) Nintendo Game Boy Color (5 colors!) Nintendo DS is a neglected artwork system I decided to make boxes for. So many games, many of which are total junk. 1700 games total. I believe all USA releases are included, but some may be missing I am not sure. There are a few Euro exclusives included and 1 Japanese exclusive. Fronts and spines included and YES most were upscaled so don't complain about it. Most of them look acceptable. Some spines may look junky or not completely accurate, but I remained as authentic as possible. Finding original source artwork was a challenge to say the least. Included is a PSD template if you want to make your own covers or improve existing ones. Enjoy this much needed set. Feel free to let me know if any USA games are missing.1 point -

I was sick of seeing crappy Nintendo Game Boy Color box images in my collection (I made this set years ago in lower resolution with the annoying Game Boy Color logo on all the spines). I remade all boxes in high quality HD with accurate spines on most boxes. All USA games and Euro exclusives are included, along with many Japanese exclusives that can be played in English. Most spines and boxes on the USA and Euro games are all retail accurate, some spines may be custom made if I couldn't find proper source images. As always I included PSD templates for the 2D and 3D boxes if anyone wants to include their own games not included here. About 669 games have been done here. This system was a big pain finding suitable source art. For some reason GBC (and also GBA) are a lot harder to find HQ scans than the original Game Boy games. I got lot of images off ebay and thecoverproject, but most of the covers were standard low res 500x500 that I had to enhance and clean up. Most came out great. There are some covers that look pretty awful like International Superstar Soccer 99 (USA). I could not find a decent source image for the north american release anywhere! I image enhanced a crappy 200x200 thumbnail image I found and replaced the logo and its doable for now. NHL Blades of Steel (USA) is another one that was tough to find. Big thanks to all the logo wizards in the forums who helped create some clear logos for some of these boxes. Feel free to let me know if there are any errors. If anyone has better scans for some of these covers let me know, And if anyone wants to upload some of these to the Games DB, by all means do so. Enjoy this collection!1 point -

Decided to upload these since I uploaded everything else Nintendo DS related. 1700 DS games, all USA releases I think. A few euro exclusives and one japanese game. All images are 256x384 with vertical orientation, even the games that are horizontal. I did that for uniformity. Enjoy.1 point -

Converted from .psd to .xcf with minor edits for use with GIMP. Many thanks to @damageinc86 for providing the original file. Requirements: GIMP Basic image editing skills (no tutorial) Cover: Scale image to 940px (height). Add as new layer under Cover group. Align cover to top and bottom of spine. Use Unified Transform Tool to snap corners to the guidelines. (optional) Use the Cover Features (icon/ratings/logos) if the cover does not already have them. Spine: Create new text layer (Text Tool) under Spine group (font = Mark Pro Bold, size = 20px). Rotate text to 90-degrees (Rotate Tool). Snap to spine text guideline. Use spine logo for specific game. Notes: You can watch the original Photoshop video here. Not too hard to figure out. GIMP 2.10 (stable) does not support non-destructive text editing yet, but it is an upcoming feature for 2.99.18 (dev). You need to create a new text layer every time you want to change the text content. Feature is now suppported in GIMP 3.x.x but letting the user add that object themselves to maintain compatibility with older GIMP versions. The outcome is very similar to this collection:1 point -

This is probably my 3rd (and last) go at making a 3D box art set for the NES. There are many 3D boxes out there for the NES, but what makes this one special is the higher quality source images used and my favorite part, authentic retail spines used on all boxes (except some unlicensed prototypes that never even had box art to begin with). A lot of NES 3D boxes out there have the annoying NES logo on the spines, like this: I used to prefer that NES spine logo, but it now annoys me to no end. I wanted a complete set with authentic retail spines for all games, so I headed to thecoverproject.net and found a boatload of high quality boxes WITH retail spines, but not for every game so I just filled in the blanks, created retail spines for those without them. I even created box images for unlicensed and prototypes games. 888 games in total, some alternate covers here and there. The new 3D box template is larger than the old one since I was working with ultra high quality 2D images from the cover project. Here is the new box: As you can see, much better and of course, authentic. The dimensions are 903x1401, so its quite a large set but it looks great in Big Box. I do have a complete 2D set WITH Back, Left Spine and Front images. The dimenions on those are 3366x2100, and its almost 6GBs in file size so it will be a massive upload. I'll see if I can upload it after I upload this. I included as PSD template for those that want to create their own 3D boxes. Enjoy!1 point -

This set contains images of various consoles, mobile, computers .png format, all drawings from the site Dimensions.com , as well as device logos on a white background: -There are several device images in the Device folder in the format .png with different orientation in space, but first, these are consoles with a horizontal arrangement (handheld tilts so that the screen is facing left. The consoles are on the right facing the center, and the controllers are on the left facing the center), then for other console models / revisions, after the image of of controllers and accessories. (Not all images are from third party sites, some are cropped by me, so there will be a lot of 'unnecessary' images in some folders in case you don't like the ones I use, such as handheld with screens not turned off (I use the first few images and number them in order, and then when the beginning of the file name is repeated, then 'unnecessary' images follow)). -The Default 3D Box folder contains controller mappings, schematics, and drawings from Dimensions.com. (You will notice that on some platforms there is no controller mapping, and this is because I downloaded them from the user: @Pyrometheous 🛐, for which I am grateful. Therefore, I will also recommend you to supplement the missing images from Controller Mapping .6). -The Default Box folder contains .png images of consoles packed in boxes (well, those that could be found (or their 'mini' editions)). Except for: Sega Saturn, Xbox One, Xbox Series (To be honest, I didn't want to add folders for these platforms at all and add drawings from the site Dimensions.com into the 4-Genesis and 7-Xbox 360 folder).1 point -

For a long time, I thought it would be great to have quality arcade cabinet images for my favorite frontend, Launchbox. What else, lol? I think that the artwork and images of these cabinets should be preserved. These have transparent backgrounds to maximize their use in themes, especially now that we have the wonderful Community Theme Creator (Thanks y2guru!). These cabinets have been resized & cleaned up, where feasible. I will upload the higher resolution copies of these to an FTP. They can be added to the Launchbox database if someone feels up to doing it. This is YEARS in the making, so I hope you enjoy. I originally strived for accuracy, as far as region goes. I could not determine if the some of the U.S. cabinets were the same in other regions. So, I kind of gave up in the middle. You may have to copy/rename some to your liking. I was going to spend more time going through them but at this point I thought I would just share them. I'm a little burned out at this point anyway. If you would like to help out to make this project continue/better, I could use the following: - finding images on the net or if you live close to an arcade or go to shows you can take high-resolution shots (the higher the better). If you can take super high-resolution images that would be perfect. Full cabinet at an angle, not partial or blocked (minimum 1600 pixels high, preferably much higher). Additionally, straight on shots can be added also. You can see what I'm looking for by checking out the images in the packs. Maybe you have friends at KLOV or other forums and can get them to take pictures. - Cleaning & cutting out images. Quality cutouts and cleaning only. I'm trying to create the ultimate reference for these cabinets. - Identifying region. Anyone with knowledge of the cabinets. It would come in handy. - Errors. See something wrong. I forgot something. - Thoughts. I would love feedback. Do you like the sizing? Should they be bigger? Smaller? Ideas to make this project better? - Thoughts on making a thread on one of the forums so people can upload their images? Maybe a forum category? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Teknoparrot, Dice & Daphne packs on the way...... I have high resolution control panel packs just about ready for release. They look great. I'm going to release them at 1200 pixels wide. Thoughts on size? If you are taking pictures, take a bunch of the control panels straight on at different heights. Side art also. Feel free to PM me. I hope you like them. Tony (AKA Antny)1 point -

This is a media collection of front covers of the game cartridge boxes Commodore launched for the VIC-20. The VIC-20 was my first computer, and with the lack of good artwork for cartridge games available, I decided to create these myself. The old cartridge boxes were fragile and had a habit of tearing and creasing easily, which made sourcing good reference art quite difficult. It meant that the reference scans I sourced were relatively low resolution, meaning the box graphics, logos and typography all had to be rebuilt (fonts matched, each game description rebuilt line by line to match the original (including font inconsistencies and interesting justified text alignments!), sleeve artwork upscaled and tidied up, colour corrected, scan perspectives fixed. These covers are all provided as PNGs at 644px wide. If there's a desire for these at higher resolutions I can export at a much higher resolution (see the single medium sized example attached). For the very latest updates and additions, you can visit https://github.com/20GotoTen/Vic20CartBoxCollection (changes will be uploaded here as well in time). If you have any other VIC-20 requests, or can help in providing reference scans, get in touch. There is much more work to do. The VIC-20 needs our love! I hope you find these useful and enjoy them as much I did creating them.1 point -
