Proper Setup for LB/BB Testing separate from Production LB/BB
DOS76 replied to SubRetro's topic in Beta Testing
yeah most likely updating to betas shouldn't mess with your media but if you have the space you can always back up your image music manual and media folders also (when backing up your image folder you can skip any of the cache folders as they are only temporary and you really don't need them backed up -

by default the scan for added ROMs feature looks in the Games\platformname in the LB folder so if your ROMs are in a separate location it won't see anything new. you can go into tools edit platform and got to the folders tab and edit the location to match the location you are using and then the feature should work.

Proper Setup for LB/BB Testing separate from Production LB/BB

you can basically just copy your data folder put a date on the end of the name and that will backup all the information LB is using for your configuration. If you need to revert just overwrite your data folder with the backup. Also its pretty simple to roll back your builds by just going into your updates folder finding an old installer and reinstalling that over your current installation. I've been using beta builds since 2015 and I've never needed to revert but the ability is there and pretty simple to do if needed. I would suggest copying your data folder to another hard drive anyway as this makes it incredibly simple to restore your install in the case of a hard drive failure. It won't recover your ROMs or any related media but all that stuff is easy enough to get but your configuration of the program is something that would need to be completely redone if lost. -
As long as you have an ini file that contains the correct path to the games you can have them in any location you want.

I just launched mine from LB no issues are your vertical games in their own folder? It seems like if you launch them from within LB it isn't feeding MAME the correct path so the emulator is saying you don't have the files present.

that basically says that you don't have all the required files to launch the game so it shuts MAME down

Who has the largest collection currently standing in Launchbox?
DOS76 replied to cleverest's topic in Collections and Builds
Google Pleasuredome roms and you will find the current set. -
okay then unless there are issues with your actual rom files then I have no clue what can be wrong with it at this point as it all appears to be setup correctly.

It ll looks set up correctly did you open RA load the Pico core and check the md5 checksums RA is looking for and make sure they match the bios files you have. To see what RA is looking for load the core and then go to info

I'm pretty sure that the Exporter has been obsolete since pretty much right after this was made but I could be mistaken. Anyway the author of the exporter has been away from the community for some time. They made one post in March of 2018 before that there 2nd to last post was in Jan 2017 so you may be waiting a while.

you should go into your updates folder and try reinstalling the latest update again and overwrite your existing exe files and let us know if that fixes it for you.

LB can be given the command line to use full boot either for all PS2 games or just that specific game just come down to setting it up that way

1a you have to go into the BB settings and change your view to platform categories to see that view 4 Clear logos is also a setting in BB it is most likely set to text list you have to adjust it to show the clear logos 5 All of the themes have multiple views so by default they may not be set to the same views in the images on the forum. You can set a button on your controller or a key on your keyboard to be able to quickly cycle through views.

yes you will import them with whatever platform name you want you will scrape them as NES and Genesis.

I hope you at least have your data folder backed up its not very large and it will make it easy to restore you LB build if you have a hard drive failure.
-
LB doesn't have a set naming scheme although it does work best with No Intro naming.
-
haven't heard that it was updated so I assume that it is still at 203
-
If you have an external drive or something else you can copy your whole LB folder to it.

feel free to make any threads you want.

I think you would also need to do the master platform.xml and also now the parent.xml would have to be in sync also. Probably the whole data folder.

I was thinking that this would be great to have added just today but since I waited patiently for a few years for letter jumping to be added at all I didn't want to be pushy about it.
