  1. The year is correct but the day and month are set to January 1st. For example, that’s the case for Captain Commando while it clearly says in the notes November 1991. It's also just in LaunchBox because Lightspeed only shows the year as far as I can see. Btw. the file corruption is gone for me in Beta-2. Lightspeed now imports the games to my existing setup perfectly fine! I’m wondering if it is too soon to ask for an additional feature? You may or may not know that Jason has reworked the ‘Additional Apps’ feature in LB 7.7 to make it work better with clones. LB now automatically adds all clones as additional apps to the parent on import. You still have only one entry per game but you can also launch all clones within LaunchBox now. It would be great if Lightspeed could do the same. You could use the LB importer to import your MAME ROMs to see how it works if you haven’t tinkered with it since 7.7 came out.
  2. Great to see you back with a new version. I really love it! I just tested it and besides the issue that @JCSRT05 has reported I’ve also noticed that the release date parser doesn’t work for quite a few games. I can only speculate but I think it could be related to games which originally had those ‘export release’ notes because games like Captain Commando are affected by this.
  3. Yes, CLRmamepro can update any game related MAME files you want. You can do only CHD, Samples, etc. as well. So you should be fine.
  4. Just did a quick test and the auto-population works really well for me. Thank you Jason! But would it be possible to add support for Custom Fields to it as well? One of the major flaws I had with the Custom Filters was that they didn’t support any Custom Fields. My BitBucket ticket regarding that issue is also one of the highest voted ones https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/368/add-the-option-to-include-custom-fields-in
  5. It’s possible but would require some work. You can also use only one aspect ratio for all of your platform videos, so either 4:3 or 16:9, mixing is not possible at the moment because of a bug in the theming engine.
  6. Yes, you have to do extract each game seperately.
  7. These are multi-part archives. You have to open the .001 file with a file archive tool like 7-Zip or WinRAR and extract the files in it.
  8. I just installed the new beta and the first thing that I've noticed was that in the platform categories filter the “All” section doesn’t get populated with any games anymore. That seems to be only the case for platform categories as it still works for all other filter options perfectly fine.
  9. I just tested it and I can reproduce it, so it’s definitely a bug. If you arrange them by play count, release date, etc. LB starts to show these values right in front of the game names and if you change the arrangements again to a different sort type these values will stay. So if you have selected Play Counts first you will always see them in front of the title no matter what other arrangement type you choose. I could also narrow it down even further. It’s directly related to the cache. If the cache for a game was already created than will this game be unaffected by this but if it wasn’t cached already it will have the value of the current arrangement settings in front of it. So if you select arrange by title, close LB, delete the cache folder, open it again and let all games be cached again before you choose a different arrangement type you should be fine. But that’s obviously not an ideal solution, so @Jason Carr definitely needs to take a look at this.
  10. What do you exactly mean @neil9000?
  11. Well, then I would try to sort the games by title, delete the cache folder after that and see if that helps. If it works you should be good to sort them by play count again and then we can only hope that it doesn’t appear again.
  12. Well, that's something I guess.. Have you closed LB before deleting the folder (you can delete the whole folder at once)? Is there also any chance that you have your games sorted by play count? I had mine sorted by release date so I guess that might be related?
  13. I recently had the same problem. LB showed me the release date in front of all names. I have solved this by deleting the image cache folder, so that might be worth a try.
  14. The best way to get started with XAML is probably the Tutorial series from Jason himself: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6pTDaHeAz-X8yNgOD3DPxUf1gaB2FLzb There’s also a documentation.pdf file in the “Themes” folder of your LaunchBox installation which features most of the LaunchBox specific XAML elements. The XAML Tips and Tricks thread is also quite useful: http://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/28698-xaml-tips-and-tricks/ And last but not least can you grab some themes in the download section and look into their XAML codes to learn how they have achieved the things you want to use yourself. I also advice to always use the default theme as base for your own themes because it's the most clean and stable theme to build on.
  15. Excellent idea. You have my vote as well.
  16. Oh man Grila, I can't even.... you're such a talented workaholic! It’s unbelievable how you come up with a new polished theme almost every 1 or 2 weeks and with every one of them you break the boundaries of what I thought was possible with the theming engine even more. Great job on this, it's looking really great!
  17. I’ve started with it but put it on hold because it’s a very tedious process to explain every small step I do in my special setup. It will come eventually but I have to find some time and have to be in the right mood to finish it.
  18. Because I can’t directly link to it I’ll just quote the wiki page from a certain dome which explains the differences between eXoDOS and Total DOS. That should hopefully answer all your questions.
  19. Speaking of platforms sorting. I think now is the perfect time to finally add “Sort Titles” for platforms/playlists as well. If you use the playlist feature intensively you will very quickly reach a point where the alphabetical order isn’t very helpful anymore to keep everything structured and a custom order would be needed instead.
  20. Awesome! Can't wait to try it out. Very needed
  21. Yes, that view was updated and will stay like that for now on. It now looks and behaves exactly like I have always intended it. The old version was just a cheap workaround that I never really liked in the first place. Now you can fully navigate through the platforms and see the whole platform video without any unnecessary extra clear logos on top of it. Here's the previous 1.7.1 version with the old look if you prefer that more: CriticalZone 1.7.1.zip
  22. woot? We have someone from DidYouKnowGaming in our community? That's awesome! I really love your videos. It seems that LB attracts all the right people
  23. Simply Austin made a tutorial for this but I don't know if it's still up-to-date:
  24. It could be done. But I don’t see the point in doing so. All the other views were never designed for a need to hide the wheel, so all you would get is just a huge blank space were the wheel was.
  25. I wouldn’t call it replacing because it’s more like upgrading It’s the view with the full screen platform videos. The previous solution with the small logo in the top left corner was just a temporary solution because I didn’t know how I should realize that view otherwise. But thanks to Grila it finally looks and behaves exactly like I’ve always intended it.
