  1. phew,...never even saw the themes down at the bottom of the page before. Dark is just nice and smooth.
  2. I just ended up moving the auto generated lists to a folder to get them out of there for the time being. It would be nice to get that option. I personally miss the filter days, and wish my filter sidebar would have gotten more traction but the plafform playlists are a very cool idea. I just wanted to differentiate between those and the ones I custom made. Thanks for the reply.
  3. While technically that wouldn't be the best solution because of all the reasons already listed throughout the thread, I would have no problems using this method. 90% of the time somebody is going to start the game and play it without switching games during the emulation. It would be accurate for most of us.
  4. hmmm ok. I'll give it a look, thanks.
  5. I want my original like 15 playlists i made by hand to stay in the playlist section of bigbox. But the other auto generated genre playlists that were made for each platform is what I want OUT of the playlist section of bigbox, and only to be in their respective platform.
  6. Ok so I did some of the automatic platform playlists by genre when the feature came out recently. Today was the first time I've actually gone into bigbox since then, and when I hit my hotkey for playlists, now there are like 10 different copies of the "all games" playlist, and then all the other playlists from each of the platforms (adventure, role-playing, etc.). When I watched the tutorial video of how to set it up in launchbox, it looked like they were going to be under their platform only. So I was expecting the original playlists I made (pac-man, mario, zelda to name a few) to still be by themselves under the playlists platform in bigbox. Does anybody know how to get bigbox to have the playlist platform only have the playlists it used to before I made all the platform-specific ones in launchbox? Also, if I delete all the extra instances of the playlists in launchbox under "playlists", will that delete all the platform category child playlists as well? Or will that just delete them from the "standalone" playlists category?
  7. Ok I think I get it better now. So it's the fact that you have that chip actually built-in. Is that something a lot of motherboards have now? Or can you add it via a slot? That sounds like a great way to take care of a lot of systems with some nice wireless action.
  8. Thanks for the explanation, but it went right over my head lol. I understand the concept of turning one off and then a different controller takes its place. I guess I just don't get how the emulator remembers that it is the NES controller now, for instance. Does the emulator remember at a bluetooth adapter level? so that whatever controller gets synced to that bluetooth adapter is going to be the player 1 mapping for any controller? since the physical bluetooth adapter is plugged into what the emulator remembers as slot 1? i know that with my wired stuff, if I unplug one of them, and then restart the computer, everything will be moved around since windows saw one missing and scooted a bunch around as a result, so the emulator mappings don't correspond to the original setup anymore, they correspond to whatever is plugged in its place now. Which could be some other controller. I guess I don't really get the relationship between emulators remembering which bluetooth adapter is in which slot, and how it applies its mappings to controllers that now take up that slot.
  9. Ok I've always wondered about people's bluetooth setups, and nobody has every confirmed. So let's say you map the controllers in an emulator right,...then when you turn another controller on doesn't it bump the first one out of the line in terms of windows joyid orders and you have to remap again to the one that is currently on?
  10. Where are the backgrounds for all the games coming from?
  11. No, I just never really played past the first year or so it was out. But I'm sure all that stuff is super cool. Maybe if I had more time I'd try to get back into it.
  12. I think it's so damn cool how long Doom has lasted. It's like subspace with the continuum version keeping it alive. It's truly amazing. For some reason I never got into doom 100%, but always thought it was cool nonetheless. Cool interview.
  13. O you can't just throw your bg images where you want them like you can with say box art? You'd have to have a theme edit?
  14. Oh yeah totally get that. All I'd really need is a folder to put my custom startup screen background art (not fan art), and the ability to not show the cart and other art on top of that BG. Oh and the ability to have a custom logo for now loading.
  15. are any of these worth playing? or can they be played without knowing japanese?
  16. Obviously still in the infancy stages, but this is so promising. I can't ditch my RL just yet thought, because the settings just aren't there yet. But i'm excited about it. The RL people should just fork over their code so LB can rise to power lol.
  17. I have actually been thinking that it would be way cool for a launchbox-like program with a graphic bookshelf and books (spine view to search/browse), to someday be used to browse actual library holdings. It would feel more interactive than the plain search that they have. When you selected the book based on search you'd see the spine graphic pop outward from the shelf of books and then if selected it would jump up to like the manual view in pdf with the book cover and you could open it. Then "slide" it back in with ESC, and either search again, or "scroll" the shelves manually to see what is there. The shelves would be a representation of what they physically have. If it's scanned then you could view it, but if it's not, then it would just be an info page view about it.
  18. Yes. I would enjoy fanart, but when there's a game that I don't like the fanart for, then I'd want to have my own custom backgrounds that I hand-pick. You can do this in RL by just renaming the file(s) and dropping them into the fade's game specific folder. It also randomly picks from the images when there are more than one. It's also fun to see which one will display when you launch it "this time".
  19. I'm sure generally speaking it is. Have never had any problem over the last 2 years with it so far, but guess there is a first for everything. fully them-able sounds awesome. I'm sure this will shape up to be a great feature.
  20. Yeah that's in this post,...but I had no idea when i clicked the update button and restarted the program. I wasn't in the forums then.
  21. Are there options to have just an image or a background image for the startup screen?
  22. I didn't know this was going to be turned on automatically. My game launched normally with rocketlauncher's fade, after the launchbox fade, and then the screen went black and I can hear my game in the background but I'm guessing it's launchbox that won't' let me do anything. Had to hit esc and get out to turn it off so I can check out if there are any options for it.
  23. Yes. I would never assume responsibility upon jason for save key input. That's insane! lol.
  24. Entering the save state info is a pain, but I've only had to do it once. I've done it for my mednafen systems, retroarch systems, and mame systems. It took a while, but have only had to set it one time for all the different systems. You fill out a table associated with that system's emulator like this: {F5 down}{F5 up}{1 down}{1 up} to save, then {F7 down}{F7 up}{1 down}{1 up} to load. So the pause menu sends those key commands to the emulator for you with time settings, delay, etc. It works frickin' great, and i love not having to try to remember all the different save and load keys for emulators.
  25. Oh playlist bezels would be great option to have too.
