  1. It looks are pretty simple. Just a menu bar thing and some statistics. I only use it for save and load states (you have to program those into the autohotkey thing that RL has), and manual viewing.
  2. What if people don't really know about a feature, but it could still prove very valuable or fun. I would blend a straight voting system with stuff that is obviously cool and/or important. But hey, eventually most things do get in there, so i'm not too worried about it.
  3. There should be an option in bigbox to assign the spin to a random game to a button combo on any controller.
  4. Well I have never used a frontend keymapper profile using joy2key through rocketlauncher since BigBox can use any of my controllers plugged in to navigate with. What if you just mapped the controls in bigbox for a controller, and then delete your frontend profile in rocketlauncher?
  5. I used a few tools as well from the hyperspin days. don's list thing to get all the weird crap out, then some program that looked for the files that matched that xml in my mame directory and copied them out into another folder. Then i could delete everything (minus the bios stuff) that didn't get copied (didn't match the xml) and then re-copy the small set back into the mame directory. It was a merged set too, and haven't run into any troubles in I think 3 years now. But yeah, it definitely is a process. They really should break out all the mahjong, casino, etc., out into it's own set from the beginning.
  6. IT will be so nice when we can just drop these into a folder here in launchbox and it will work. I like the simplicity here. Might switch mine to these in RL.
  7. Oh wow never thought of that. That needs to be a top feature for sure. Especially when starting a game for the first time it can be a bit laggy while everything gets going. Being able to set a "block key press for x seconds after launch" would be great.
  8. I have been using the mayflash adapter for years now. No troubles at all. http://www.mayflash.com/Products/PCUSB/PC039.html
  9. l just updated to the current build of dolphin and no noticeable problems. I honestly just plugged the bar in and set it to the right mode for wiimotes and haven't even looked to change anything. It's just worked as far as I could feel.
  10. Yeah they don't take much space up. especially if you can cut something out similar to this 4 holed thing I found:
  11. i can say that the mayflash dolphin bar with real wiimotes works perfectly. It's great.
  12. ohhh this is pretty exciting. would love to see a screenshot of that in action.
  13. does that do per system? or per game though? I think that may be where the distinction lies. edit: I guess per system could be per program. But then, what if you have to use multiple emulator programs for specific games. That's where per-game might come in handy.
  14. It's just knowing what to do that's all. My buddy is scared to change the oil in his car, just because he's never done it before. Even on his BMW it's one of the simplest things to do yourself. I keep telling him I'll show him, just bring it over. Takes half an hour. Same thing here. It's really not hard to do the keymapping at all, once you know the steps.
  15. Yup. the keymapping is a killer feature, per system and per game.
  16. I've always had to manually add my made up system names (SNES homebrew, NES homebrew, Arcade Hacks, etc.) into the rocketlauncher modules where they ask for an msystem= or something like that. This is also why I don't update RL very often, because then it overwrites all the modules that i've done that too. I've heard about scrape as, or something like that before, but can't remember if there is actually a method that works. Would be interesting to find out.
  17. I have used a program called AntRenamer, that I used to basically do the same thing. String deletion from front and back, but also replace with options, and other stuff. It runs very quickly as well.
  18. Wow, that is good news. The only thing left after that, would be the keymapping feature that RL has, which loads profiles (joy2key) per-game. Then RL would be close to obsolete.
  19. Hard to take pics of them at an arcade, because you really need them to be by themselves, isolated. If it's a working arcade, they'll usually be too close to other machines for that.
  20. Button presses have never stopped a video for me. But the video does cut itself off if it runs past the point when BB would have regularly loaded without a video. But shouldn't it let the video finish playing even if BB is loaded underneath?
  21. That's really weird. No ideas on that. But i'll add to this, that my startup vids still do not stop when I press a key, and If they run longer than it normally takes for my launchbox to start, then the video cuts off at that time, and starts launchbox. So luckily I have found a video that is almost the exact time it takes to start launchbox, so there is no cutting off. But sometimes I'd like to press a key and just get to launchbox, but I guess it doesn't matter if launchbox still hasn't even loaded underneath it.
  22. I got a hbmame set and added the games under my "Arcade Hacks" platform. There are some fun variations of the pac-man/ms. pac man games. There is a ms. pacman 25 diff. maze version, which is fun. There are some wonky parts of the maze, almost as if some of the original maze walls couldn't be deleted and are in black space. But for the most part, it's pretty fun. I also like the pacman renaissance games.
