  1. Ohh interesting. Would be nice if some programmer genius could make a GUI that allowed us to do the regedit and see all the controllers before and after columns or something .
  2. Awesome!
  3. It's sort of related in that the subject matter is tied to beginner emulation. So at least they have that going for them. But it is a rather specific request, so I do think it might be better served as its own thread, given that the OP wrote this post as a general overview. With it's own thread it could really be delved into, the nuances of running old dos/win games. Unless the OP wants to synthesize all replies to that issue into an old dos/win section for their original guide.
  4. I had a program that would rename files based on the romname of any directory. It was designed for hyperspin, to match stuff but you can plug in any file to match. Oh but first you had to run rom2xml which made the xml of your rom directory to check against. I know it's more steps but that might work
  5. There's only really a short list of steps to this process. Set up rocketlauncher to have launchbox as the active and default fronted, pointing it to LB Add rocketlauncher as the emulator in LB / bulk edit all games to use rocketlauncher as the emulator close launchbox and then open rlui, and all the systems should be populated on the left. edit each system to use your emulator (select appropriate module matching the emulator "brand", rom file path, rom extension, etc.) games from launchbox should show in the game tab using the audit button. from there you can test launch games to see if they work properly now that RL launches stuff, LB can launch stuff!
  6. I wonder if there's any setting in the module that account for that. There's a lot Hidden in the module setting sometimes.
  7. Ohhh lol. Oops. I've never used steams overlay. Is that the message that flashes real quick that says to access it press such and such a key combo during gameplay?
  8. What overlay? Most steam games are widescreen full screen? What would you need an overlay for? RL can just launch it.
  9. Sounds like a major pita. I've always just ran mame.
  10. RL launches steam games natively though. You can either treat it as a PC game with the pc module and find the exe in the folders, or use the checkbox plus steam id field in the module options.
  11. I noticed that if you don't have a platform video, then BB plays the gameplay videos you have from within that system. It would be nice to have it automatically do that for playlists that don't have a proper "platform" video yet.
  12. Yup. per game is one of the best ones for me. Especially with PC games, or dos games. Before i struggled having xpadder or joy2key only being able to load profiles based on whenever the program .exe was launched. Well, that leaves out a lot, since each game might need different controls.
  13. Really cool idea. But I love seeing Vikings cool platform vids play. Was thinking, what if B.B. Could show the systems box artwork off to the side or bottom somewhere sort of like it shows the box for each game? Then we could have our vids and get to see what that systems box/boxes looked like. As important as having game boxes I'd say.
  14. Well jeez I hope a piece of software wouldn't restrict your license based off of traveling a few hours. That's just creepy
  15. I've only ever used RL for having default horizontal and vertical bezels, that are included in the unified pack. I saw the realistic defaults, but they are small screen ones like we've been talking about. If having the maximum game screen size is very important I think this pack is the only way to go.
  16. I would suggest the pack for RL simply because it maximizes the game screen, and the other bezels make it pretty small.
  17. Are you sure you got the mame bezels that have .lay files in the zip? Or did you get the unified bezel pack that metalzoic compiled for rocketlauncher?
  18. Something to do with how windows detects controllers. Like, it can't just remember which one was in which spot, unless it stays plugged in all the time. The actual reason is more technical than that, but that's what's I remember reading.
  19. I'd like that except I'd want the disc to already be in the case And then come out. There were some themes on hyperspin years ago, that slid the cartridge down from the top and it went into an image of the console, so it looked like it was being put in and turned on. This would be a big step towards the seamless effect. But this also will be a crapload of work as Jason has said before, and sort of going into rocketlauncher features that are complicated to make happen. I'd love this though, it would really add to the experience
  20. I know you said you don't plan on a lobby system for launchbox users, but oh man that would be cool! See who's on launchbox right now and play something with them!
  21. Now I would like good 3D art of all the arcade cabinets to rotate. That would be fun.
  22. I actually dislike the way the 3D boxes look currently. It just never looks really correct. There's some aspect of it that always feels skewed a bit. I like having regular 2d boxes just front and back. But it's a great effort nonetheless.
  23. I like having full collections just because it's fun to say you have every single game made for a system, especially when someone says, "do you have THIS game?" Yes every single one! Lol. But it does really get old going through them all. I'd like to get it down to exclusives to that system/best versions only. But it's a lot of work. And a lot of the lists out there have people arguing about which ones were really exclusive, and adding new stuff all the time.
  24. Yeah, so now your systems should populate in rocketlauncher, and you can set up the emulators for each one in there and test out game-launching outside of your front end to make sure it is all good to go.
  25. Yeah I notice that it is sort of hard to remember which button number corresponds to which controllers button for that, because like the Select button on the SNES controller, might not be the same button number as the back button on the xbox360 controller.
