  1. don't most neo geo games have the same or very similar button configurations? Like those 4 button cabs that had several different games to choose from? I guess maybe I don't know about any others lol.
  2. Can't you just remap your keyboard presses in the mame menu when inside a neo geo game? I know it might be tedious, but eventually they would all get done.
  3. I know exactly how you feel! I swore I'd never touch mame stuff again once I got done making an entire clear logo set. Once I saw these new bezels, now I have to jump back in and get those going. It's fun and a challenge at the same time
  4. Well give me a little time and I'll have them all changed. Already to the letter P. And I plan on keeping up with Orionsangel's releases because I love them. I'll be posting it all soon. But yeah the screen position may or may not be the big hassle. Sometimes you get lucky and the coordinates that come with it are good. Sometimes not. But I guess if someone takes the time to really dial that in 100% then those configs could be shared as well. I plan on getting to that point as well, but artwork stuff first there are some great packs for rocketlauncher, and that's be what I've used for the last few years or so. Metalzoics pack is a great compilation. I only recently switched to the built in mame bezel feature because that's what the realistic ones were being built for.
  5. The only thing wrong with the Merrit and Orion's realistic bezels are that they made the game screen area really dark , so the game ends up being really dark. I found someone's set that removed merrits screens, and that took others and made the opacity 80%. I am about halfway through Orion's set doing the 80% opacity. This will make the game screen area a bit lighter along with the rest of the artwork. But the fact that mame running full screen has black sides will bring the rest of the artwork back to being dark, and the game area shine brighter through that portion of the bezel. It's either that, or pen tool every single game screen area of those bezels. Its too bad they had to bake in the game screen area to be so dark, but that's the workaround. You will have to play a lot with some of the games horizontal and vertical stretch and position settings in the slider controls menu. But once you get those done for each game, boy does it look great!
  6. It looks like your adaptor will give you that though. Because it will make those pc controllers. Then launchbox will see them. The new classic versions that is.
  7. You know as far as using snes game pads, I got some super famicom game pads off eBay and the mayflash snes adapter. Works great. I ALso got all new rubber contact pads for the inside off eBay. Just a few screws and it's really easy to swap them out from the old sloppy rubber. Made it really snappy and the dpad has great contact again.
  8. Oh wow, interesting. I use Dfend reloaded through RL, so I've never had to try to do it through launchbox.
  9. Please let us know what happens with two player wireless and emulator mapping. I would love to know how that ends up working. Not knowing that is the only thing that has been keeping me from trying out wireless stuff like that. It would be useless to me if it lost all the mappings once the controllers were turned off from the mayflash unit.
  10. I have always wanted to try wireless things like that may flash one,. But I was always under the impression that once you turned say, player2 off, that it would not save the mapping you had in the emulator because of Windows crap that they can't keep track of controller ids
  11. Yeah I used to use the built in mapper, but it started acting wonky and not recognizing my xbox360 controller very well. I had to keep re-setting the mapping overt so often. It sort of became a hassle. Once I went to RL with joy2key i never had any mishaps. But this is just a secondary point to the main post. I have never used scummv. I have a bitter past with those style adventure games anyways, so I probably would just use dosbox for the occasional game from that genre. Couldn't you put them all in the msdos platform and just run them with different emulators depending on the game?
  12. Playing dos games with a controller is relatively easy in rocketlauncher. Point rocketlauncher to the joy2key exe, and in he ms-dos platform set up per-game profiles in the keymapper tab. That way it loads the keymapper profile you made for each game anytime it's launched. It's been great for me so far .
  13. So in your platform did you set the emulator checkbox and then select rocketlauncher from the list?
  14. I am still on the last version of mameuifx before he stopped. But it's a no-nag version compiled by someone else. No reason to switch, as all the games I'm interested in have been working well since 2000 lol.
  15. Oh damn, that's a bit of An issue.
  16. If you use enough Viking videos and re-encode over and over, you could get that crazy endless mirror effect like when you point a camcorder at the Tv while it's plugged into it lol.
  17. This is a really nice feature to have for weeding out non-essential games. Never knew this was there.
  18. Orionsangel on YouTube. "Realistic arcade bezels made by me" search for that. Stuff is awesome! Plop the zip files in the name artwork folder and it works great. Some of them need to have screen stretch (horizontal and vertical) adjusted on the slider controls in the in game menu.
  19. wow that's really weird. Never ran into that when I set up rocketlauncher. No idea.
  20. I would wonder if you could tap into anything in the retroarch program? Doesn't that keep track of the retro achievements for every core and do that update message for each core when you are playing different ones? the standalone emulators I can see being next to impossible, but it seems like it might be a possibility if you could tap into the update message that retroarch displays.
  21. I'm sure in theory you could figure out when retroarch is throwing that message to the screen, and then convert it to a nice little icon with text pop up notification. I have no idea though, as I know nothing of actual programming. But that would be a great step to take in the quest for seamless retro gaming via frontend.
  22. Yes go to the fade tab of that system and turn it off, then you might be able to see any error messages that RL is showing you.
  23. It would be cool if launchbox/ bigbox could look inside before it sends the command , and have a pop up window for you to select. I've made a copy of the file and renamed it to what the alternate version's name was. But that's just making a split version yourself sort of.
  24. I've noticed that my rocketlauncher has a really hard time bringing up the pause menu over bigbox. Like sometimes it won't show but I can hear the menu sounds. Big box must just Be so powerful that even RL can't get on top ? Lol.
  25. This is too bad. Hopefully someone can rebuild with all the assets and update it to work. Was actually thinking of going back to this one for a while because I sort of miss the look.
