Ohhhh that makes sense. Do you know what it was on the original game?
-
yeah, i was able to select my gamecube controller from the list, and map everything. I tried mapping walk to d-pad left right, analog left right, and nothing. No matter what i map the walk to none of the options (2tap2run,hold2run, etc.) work. It's always on walk.

Does anyone have the walk/run working in super smash bros. crusade? no matter what options I turn on for the feature, I'm always walking.

This has been happening for me intermittently for several versions. It's super weird. And the select sound also echoes during it, as ignorant there's another phantom press happening.

Just wait until the 12 days of PD Christmas promotion where I think your download ratio isn't counted and your upload is doubled or tripled sometimes. That's the only way I was ever able to get all of the sets I needed way back when.

I have a full set of logos uploaded here in the downloads section. They are Crylen's bordered logos.

Vote on LaunchBox Upcoming Features - February/March 2018
damageinc86 replied to Lordmonkus's topic in News and Updates
I'm only afraid to update because of the renaming you have to do in the module Ini files for systems that aren't standard names (NES homebrew) so they will still launch. Once you update it writes over those and doesn't have all the names you put in previously, so you have to manually add them all back. I'd still need fade to cover up emulator loading, and the great keymapping part of RL before I completely ditched it. But pause would be a great and huge step for a front end; to have that functionality built in. -

Seems like if launchbox can find any game with a certain name across all platforms and make a playlist out of that, surely it can find what other platforms a game is on and then let you launch it? -

How are people handling different controllers in BigBox?
damageinc86 replied to faeran's topic in Troubleshooting
This feels like an identical issue I saw a while back. Is also Enjoy it if we could map specific buttons for EACH individual controller plugged in to specific functions instead of just "button1, button 2, etc." because those buttons are different across several controller styles(SNES vs xbox360) it gets hard to remember which button does what for select game for instance. Could be start on the snes, but R3 on xbox360. -
Ohh interesting. Would be nice if some programmer genius could make a GUI that allowed us to do the regedit and see all the controllers before and after columns or something .

It's sort of related in that the subject matter is tied to beginner emulation. So at least they have that going for them. But it is a rather specific request, so I do think it might be better served as its own thread, given that the OP wrote this post as a general overview. With it's own thread it could really be delved into, the nuances of running old dos/win games. Unless the OP wants to synthesize all replies to that issue into an old dos/win section for their original guide.

I had a program that would rename files based on the romname of any directory. It was designed for hyperspin, to match stuff but you can plug in any file to match. Oh but first you had to run rom2xml which made the xml of your rom directory to check against. I know it's more steps but that might work

There's only really a short list of steps to this process. Set up rocketlauncher to have launchbox as the active and default fronted, pointing it to LB Add rocketlauncher as the emulator in LB / bulk edit all games to use rocketlauncher as the emulator close launchbox and then open rlui, and all the systems should be populated on the left. edit each system to use your emulator (select appropriate module matching the emulator "brand", rom file path, rom extension, etc.) games from launchbox should show in the game tab using the audit button. from there you can test launch games to see if they work properly now that RL launches stuff, LB can launch stuff!

I wonder if there's any setting in the module that account for that. There's a lot Hidden in the module setting sometimes.- 861 replies

Ohhh lol. Oops. I've never used steams overlay. Is that the message that flashes real quick that says to access it press such and such a key combo during gameplay?- 861 replies

What overlay? Most steam games are widescreen full screen? What would you need an overlay for? RL can just launch it.- 861 replies

Sounds like a major pita. I've always just ran mame.

SteamLauncher
damageinc86 replied to Lahma's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
RL launches steam games natively though. You can either treat it as a PC game with the pc module and find the exe in the folders, or use the checkbox plus steam id field in the module options.- 861 replies

I noticed that if you don't have a platform video, then BB plays the gameplay videos you have from within that system. It would be nice to have it automatically do that for playlists that don't have a proper "platform" video yet.

Additional Apps for Platforms or workaround to use LB+Joytokey?
damageinc86 replied to MartinC's topic in Features
Yup. per game is one of the best ones for me. Especially with PC games, or dos games. Before i struggled having xpadder or joy2key only being able to load profiles based on whenever the program .exe was launched. Well, that leaves out a lot, since each game might need different controls.
