.....and MS-DOS. How can you forget our shambling old chum MS-DOS? (***Edit.....Ahh I see that you elaborated in your next post) (I have Big Fish Games and Pop Cap Games as separate platforms in my LB. Mostly for convenience. I couldn't possibly merge them into Windows games as they are a distinct set of games in their own right. I agree though, that they aren't actual 'platforms')

BigBox - Select Random Game Feature fixed by "Wheel Spin"
JamesBond@ge replied to FreeSoftwareServers's topic in Features
A lot of us wanted this feature, and no one apart from me and FreeSoftwareServers has put a "thanks" or a "like" on Grila's post. Pull your finger out people.- 167 replies

How happy are you when you beat a tough Level?
JamesBond@ge replied to CadetStimpy's topic in Monkeys
I never play games for long enough to get like that. I do "whoop it up" when I get a particular emulator to work on my system though. This weekend it has been Citra (3DS) and Cemu (Wii U). For the first time ever, I've played New Super Mario Bros U and Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U and they are incredible games and both of them run really well on my system. New Super Mario Bros U needed some patching up to get it to work (with help from a fella on YouTube)......once I got it working, I was "whooping it up" and punching my first in the air and punching the pussy (cat). -
I read all that, and the thread by le_el and wonder to myself "what could possibly go wrong"? PS. This was a feature that I requested in the past. The ability to use multiple different RetroArch configs for one system and then be able to launch them on the fly in BigBox.

BigBox - Select Random Game Feature fixed by "Wheel Spin"
JamesBond@ge replied to FreeSoftwareServers's topic in Features
A rework of the random game feature would be good. I'll leave my interest in this thread though because you won't find me even bothering to vote in any poll, not after the way I was treated in the last one.- 167 replies

Yeah, credits to LordMonkus. I followed his link. The build that I downloaded was dated 23rd April. What are your PC specs shady8knight? I 'think' that Mupen might be a bit CPU or GPU heavy. I don't know this for sure, but I noticed that my fans were getting fairly loud when playing with it which indicates that my PC was working hard. That's fine by me though. I really have found it to be compatible with every game I've tried.

BigBox - Select Random Game Feature fixed by "Wheel Spin"
JamesBond@ge replied to FreeSoftwareServers's topic in Features
Yeah, I kind of agree. Rather than do all the spinning thing, just press a button to open a random "game details" page, or press a button to open a random game directly, bypassing all the animation, and hence the lag that comes with it.- 167 replies

I used to have multiple emulators running N64 games. I used the Parallel core in RetroArch, PJ64 1.6 and PJ64 2.3 and a little bit of 1964. After trying Mupen and testing it extensively, I found it ran everything I chucked at it including Stunt Racer 64 which I have never been able to get any other emulator to run. Never played it before until I tried Mupen. Mickey Mouse Racing wouldn't open in RetroArch but Mupen runs it. Rogue Squadron runs fine in Mupen as well on my i5-2500k. I'm a big fan now. You probably didn't notice

Thanks LM. The graphics look a lot better with this Mupen Emulator. I guess that is down to the Glide plugin.
-
LordMonkus, I'm being a little lazy here but do you know the command line for Mupen64 please? I was a PJ64 devotee but I just tried Mupen64 on a whim at your's and CKP suggestion and it looks good. It runs Rogue Squadron nicely.

What version of Daum is that? What does STTNG mean? I have a vested interest in this because I've been swapping all my MS-DOS over to Daum.

If you are using a standalone MAME, there won't be any conflict. CC automatically detects the running process of your choosing eg. "mame.exe" "mame64.exe" and then launches your profile silently in the background (and exits it when you close the program). Infact, you can put multiple exe's in one profile "mame64.exe" "mame.exe" "mameui.exe" "mameforjames.exe" "mameforrainysundays.exe" "dontmamemeyoubastard.exe" so you get them all covered. I have 140 MUGEN games that have different named exe's. I copied all the names of the exe's into one profile (it took a while lol) which has mapped Alt + F4 to my Guide button. It's a good little program. Well worth the small amount of money. It is not tied to Steam either and can run independently. Their site says it is compatible with PS controllers. I don't know about PS4 though as that is too new for me lol. (I'm not affiliated with this program btw )

You ain't crap bro. You helped me out with that script a couple of months ago for my conundrum with PC Sega Rally 2 (The check if process running script) which helped me a great deal. Why are you not playing with AHK anymore and the sombre tone in your posts? wassup?

A program called Controller Companion on Steam is able to map functions to the XBOX 360 Guide Button. I have Controller Companion and Xpadder running at the same time and I use CC to map Quit Functions to the Guide button and Xpadder for everything else (Xpadder can't map the Guide Button). I don't know about the PS4 controller but maybe it is something you could look at it if you find no other way. http://controllercompanion.com/

Yep, I haven't forgotten about Zombie Beaver's great work here. I've been finishing of my MS-DOS section in LaunchBox. More specifically, moving all my DOS GOG games, and the stand-alones over to DOSBox Daum......ever since I found out that 'mofo Daum does Save States! The C64 is one of the last platforms left that I have yet to import into LaunchBox. I tinkered with CCS64 and Hoxs64 but could never get them quite right. So in a few weeks, I am looking forward to the C64 Package you put together to get me started. Thanks Zombie Beaver for putting that together.

DOSBox SVN Daum = Save States. Yum yum!! Can anybody here who has used the Daum variant tell me where the save states are stored? I have a "SAVE" folder in my Installation and have done save states but the folder is still empty. I've looked all over my computer and can't find :-/
