  1. Did you just remove the games and not the platform? That's the only thing (other than having the XML open) I can think why it might not change.
  2. Just to note, any Priorities option in LaunchBox requires Premium. The Game Details portion in the options menu has some customization, but it's more showing and hiding whole sections of metadata, not what goes where like priorities. Edit: Screenshot Priorities does do what you want it to do though.
  3. Yea, this is a very old thread. This topic has since been covered at least a few dozen more times, and when I was making the tutorials this was a common things for me to teach, to use Add Files and Windows search.
  4. That's even more strange... I hope that helps, but that still seems like a bug.
  5. Well, I'm still a bit confused; I think something might be getting lost in a language barrier. For the arcade systems (though I don't recommend RetroArch for them), as long as you have the proper roms and BIOS for them all together, you import them in to LaunchBox and set the Associated Command line properly when editing RetroArch, it should work. If it's not launching, then a setting in LaunchBox is not correct, especially if they're launching outside of LB. I would be willing to bet it's in the associated platforms tab. The system name in there needs to match what you've called the System, and the command line needs to be set properly. You shouldn't need to check any of the other boxes on the first tab when you edit an emulator. You might also want to try RetroArch 1.5. I do suggest users keep up with releases. It shouldn't change too much in this case, but making sure it and all of your cores are updated is crucial in general.
  6. That's strange. I'll forward this to Jason, he might know more.
  7. Adding just in case: Satellaview will be the SNES cores and doesn't require BIOS.
  8. What if you try auto-generating based on "Assassin". You might pick up a few other games, but does that return the proper results (more or less). It will tell us, potentially, if the issue is punctuation.
  9. If you use the find and replace all function, replacing the path up until the rom name, with a new complete path, it should work. I've done this many times with more simple replacements (like E:\ to S:\, or D:\Emulator to D:\Emulators). You can also edit multipl XML's at once if the paths you're changing are all the same. It depends on how much you keep the same. You only need to find and replace the portions that are changing. So, if you're moving the "Emulators" folder from your drive, to your network, you only need to change everything before the "Emulators" folder. If that's the same across every XML, you can use the Find and Replace All, In every open document option.
  10. I remember this topic being in another thread too. If I recall, using a batch file to launch at start up, then setting a delay in the script for long enough should do the trick. Shell replacement software might have delay options too.
  11. Default Background shouldn't be premium, but all the Priorities options are.
  12. Overrides were made much much better in the last 2 major versions, which makes it much more worthwhile to do now. Custom Configs still have their place, but run in to this issue from time to time. From 1.4.1 to 1.5 (it might have even been 1.4 to 1.4.1 actually), they changed the configs and any old configs no longer worked.
  13. Ah, ok. You know I don't use RL, so based on the other comment, I assumed this would have too.
  14. You shouldn't need to change out anything if I recall. With that script, and controller automation set up, you shouldn't need to? However, I don't use the script and just know that others used it with success. Maybe @lordmonkus can answer that directly?
  15. MAME should controller map right away. As far as getting the games to run, MESS, in MAME in RetroArch is a bit more confusing. You'll need the commands, on top of the core command line, and to make sure the BIOS are in the proper location. If I recall, at one point, they needed to be in the system folder, inside another folder named after the internal system name? Not sure if that's the case anymore, or if they can go loose in the system folder or with the rest of the roms, but MESS in MAME in RA has always annoyed me too.
  16. Nothing else changed for your PC? The Intro Video playing will have little to do with Big Box. Sure, Jason made the ability for these to run, but this is all VLC for the most part.
  17. Go to Tools -> Options, and on the left go to Default Background. I don't think this requires LB Premium, but the Background Priorities (all of the Priorities options) requires LB Premium. They provide much more control. I personally have it use my Wallpaper, but you can set it to a single image.
  18. It's not a CRC check. It's something that's been happening for forever. It mostly has to do with Image duplication, hence why it's happening to multi disc games. You can rename the images, and remove the duplicates for those games if you want, or if they're merged properly in LB then you only need 1 image anyways. IF they're not merged, you could still do 1 image, and just name it after the game name. As long as you're using the Region field properly for Multi Disc games, then the name is technically the same, hence why it adds the extra strings to make sure the images can be downloaded properly. Even if it simply added -1, -2, -3 (which it does in some cases), it'll still throw RL off.
  19. The one I originally linked has a GT 705 in there, so yes a GPU can fit. in fact, one comes with it. It's not an emachine case or anything like that, so it could probably do a half size GTX card, or a low profile card. I'm sorry, but that link I sent is still a good ass deal for $500 straight, pre-built. I would get that if I had a need for a smaller machine like that. Edit: Like I said, it's not a perfect machine, but if you want something no hassle, that's under budget (though only while on sale), then it's a good machine to do this specific job. It's not gonna wow you on brand new emulation or games, and you could always upgrade the RAM and GPU later; But it comes in under budget, and you wont have to put it together. The upgrades can be something you could figure out in a year. I also don't like that Windows 7 is in that machine. I would certainly change that out to Windows 10. I just installed W10 on to a new machine for my mother in law, and we thought she was gonna have to buy it. After logging in with her account, that I did the Windows 7 to Windows 10 free upgrade on, Microsoft gave her W10 for free on her new machine. I just Installed Windows 10 Home, skipped the key part, logged her in, and it was done automatically. So if you ever did that process, you might have W10 for free. Edit 2: I also haven't seen that video that Monkus posted, but I assume that's someone building the machine by the thumbnail. If you hunt, or look hard enough like that, then of course you could do better for less. Pre-built comes a bit more expensive. Too big or too small, and the price also goes up even if you're building it.
  20. You just need to use the Controller Automation stuff built in to LB and BB. If a specific emulator is giving you trouble, you can also try adding this script: $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} }
  21. Given that long string of command lines, I think Mednafen inside of RetroArch is much easier. Wow
  22. Oh this is awesome. How about adding in Fandom Wiki (formerly Wikia) articles too? Some series have much more dedicated groups around the game. Sega Retro (though a custom wiki like site), the Nintendo Wiki etc all come to mind.
  23. Usually these special cores are much harder to get to run, because you may not be running from a rom like you normally are. I also don't even know if OpenLara is fully working yet, I wouldn't be surprised if it's still in alpha. You'll need to find out what it requires, when its ready to go. If it's launching from a file, like a rom, you'd just import that file and set the command line like you do anything else. I haven't tested that with the Doom or Cave Story cores, but that should be all you need to do.
