  1. It does if you have the option checked in the emulator edit page; Not that I suggest keeping games in archives, but, it should work like how you want.
  2. Or you could have a bad BIOS too. Bad disc images and bad BIOS are extremely common.
  3. Yea, it's a bit harder because we use the Steam API and not a normal method. Though, why not just keep Steam on in the background? I mean, I can understand why you'd want to, just curious.
  4. Well, for now, I would suggest going back to Beta 6 if this keeps happening. Open up your LaunchBox/Updates folder, sort it by date, and install the second oldest exe over your current install. This will put you back a beta. Otherwise, the error's are sent automatically to Jason, so he should see it, but you should certainly post the error on the beta thread.
  5. I don't think so. I can see why it's not, sorting by a piece of metadata but then hiding that metadata doesn't make too much sense. I would request this option on the BitBucket though, if you're really wanting it.
  6. Personally, I would prefer 16:9. If the vertical size of a 4:3 screen is about the same as a 16:9, any vertical games are going to be about the same size, just more will be black on the sides. If you're wanting to run a lot of newer games though, forcing 16:9 in to a 4:3 is much worse to me than forcing a 4:3 in to a 16:9. With 4:3 on a 16:9, you're not losing any size (unless the screen is much smaller obviously). In a 16:9 on 4:3 scenario, you're going to lose some size, and I think that looks worse. Not every PS2 game offers 16:9 obviously, but quite a lot do, or have Widescreen patches / hacks readily available if you really wanted them.
  7. An easy way I found to rename the rom files is while editing a game. Edit a game, press browse to locate the rom, in the new window locate the rom and press F2. Rename it to what you need, then it's right there to click to associate with that entry. Then you can edit the name in the editor. Having LaunchBox rename roms or anything like that could be disastrous, but your games do need to be close or on point. However, you shouldn't also need to change the file name unless you're worried about re-importing. I've changed a games LaunchBox name without editing the rom file too.
  8. I still like Daum the best, but it has some small issues when using LaunchBox to import AND install. Normal imports are not effected, but when you run it through the install too, some of the commands are slightly different. -x is really good, probably the best of them all because Daum hasn't been updated in a while. -x is based on the SVN builds of DOSBox (which are current, and much more advanced than .74, which is what LB ships with). -x is a fork of SVN, with a bunch of benefits from Daum and the LFN (Long File Name) fork, if I recall. -x however is broken for working with LaunchBox. I can't get it to work reliably, save settings, etc.
  9. So, I haven't looked at this in a while, it probably needs some editing done to it again, and for me to add more to it (which I will). Either way, here ya go: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k1aSGkhzHR4L7VDD5CPy-PVMFKiaGOiQhgZO56hUNaE/edit?usp=sharing Edit: It's also not edited properly for general use, it was meant to just be something Jason and I used.
  10. That, and there's the issue of it being accurate. If it's not accurate, it's not really worth putting in.
  11. Ah, that's odd then. I wonder if the menu is displayed differently then... Huh, not what I would have guessed.
  12. Cause if it's loading, then it sounds like the settings on both pieces of software should be correct.
  13. No it should just work. Are you using the latest Dolphin? Have you tried another rip of the game?
  14. We can solve this potential issue. Open up your LaunchBox/Updates folder and sort it by date. Look at the newest file, and count down how many beta's you downloaded. If it was (... what are we on now, beta 7?), all 7, go back 7 files. Run that installer, and it should be the latest stable release. Install that over your current LaunchBox install and you'll be back to the most recent stable. Double check to see if they launch then.
  15. Well, use the XMB UI. I don't know if rgui is even updated anymore, but look at what Monkus said right above you.
  16. Well, MAME is on .185 now, so go with the latest. Otherwise, PD. That's the hint, those are the initials. Edit: I just re-read the first part of the thread. Funny thing, I did start covering MESS tutorials on the channel.
  17. Remap entries? Like the Controller? I'm not sure, I don't use FBA at all, just MAME, and only MAME Standalone as I find it better. RetroArch uses auto-configs, and they may have locked down MAME.
  18. Yea, I posted right after Neil, and his post put it in to perspective for me. I made an edit to my other post about it. I'm still stumped. There's been a lot of that going around today.
  19. Oh did he? Crap... I've been missing small details like that recently. I think I need a vacation. X_X
  20. Maybe I need to re-read the post, but why would you need to change RetroArch entries in LaunchBox, unless you had the unarchive option checked? If you want to just change cores, just edit the associated platform command line parameter line with the new core name. Edit: Reading Neils post, ok I get that now. You have a completely different RetroArch install for a different default config. Though at that point, use Custom Configs? If a config is throwing something off for one core, but not others, use custom configs? Though now the questions is why would that be the case.
  21. Randomizing the Start Up Video, and adding in more advanced controls is something that @Jason Carr certainly wants to do. So there may not need to be a plugin made for that. The other 3 are interesting. The first two do exist in some form already for LaunchBox, but not for during start up. I'm not sure Plugins could even edit anything for during start up, which is another sticking point for the video. Even if Jason wasn't wanting to do that, I'm not sure a plugin could do that, at least when we're talking plugins that are developed for use within LaunchBox.
  22. If the accented character caused the issue though, wouldn't it cause it while trying to load RetroArch manually?
  23. I use the emulate option. If a game requires a Wii Mote, I'll use the left half of my controller and my mouse. Mouse is the pointer, left and right click, and maybe the scroll wheel for extra buttons (I also have a 3rd face button on my mouse). Otherwise, I use the Wii Classic or GameCube controller options in the menu for as many games as support it (which is quite a lot). As for if Wii Ware is worth it, for the games it has it's totally worth it. It's even worth it to do Virtual Console in some cases, like Nintendo 64. The VC titles can run much better ironically than through PJ64 or MupenPlus in RA, in some instances. The Wii Ware platform currently exists too, but it's going to be merged with Wii when the systems finally do get merged. So just a forewarning for anyone that wants to make the playlist, if they get merged don't forget to set your Wii Ware platform to Scrape As Wii.
  24. The Shut Down option should appear once you've put you're code in. I think there was a thread about this, and the option was hidden until you activate it with your code.
  25. It should theoretically work on a real DOS Machine too. On Windows 95/98, it should too, but I don't know if it's the same level of access. @Jason Carr could give you a few points on where to start though. If he even knows where to begin for W98.
